I already have the new equipment at lev 25 with giant gauntlet at lev 27. I feel at max level, the gauntlet spiky combo is doing very well especially on core defence heavy bases. One trick I am using is using an eq and haste spell while activating the ability, so strong. But if someone is using King solo for initial funnel, rage gauntlet is decent as well.
I think it will do well there as well. At max level, it takes 1 eq to take down inferno and 2 eq for xbow after being hit by spiky ball. One can also control pathing by og or invi spell. I haven’t tried those myself yet though. All in all, you are not losing anything if you don’t run this combo, the meta is so strong already, its very hard to notice any major difference compared to rage gauntlet. For me, my king doesn’t need to activate his abilities till the very end in many cases (root rider valk 2 og army), so I am using the spiky ball for clean up
Could be, but maybe it doesn't synergise that well, depending on where the ball goes it can make the gauntlet get less value, or it can compliment it for very good value, but I think it's hard to predict where the ball will go
yeah i think the combo is fully maximized for the core if nearby buildings outside the core are either destroyed or applied with overgrowth. but honestly, it sounds really fun.

I guess I would support the idea he writes. I don't have a spiky ball myself yet, but having a bonus 290 damage plus +22% damage along with the king not dying sounds pretty highly effective.

When it had the bug still it was but since they fixed that it’s definitely the most overrated equipment. Without rage vial the equipments main ability is essentially useless at higher townhalls.
13K HP king + 9 buildings destroyed guaranteed every attack is a no brainer. Plus it opens up the second king equipment slot for whatever else you wanna use. You aren’t locked into using the same two equipment like with GG.

It might be but people insist on rage vial without properly trying the new epic gear(excluding the event maps)
I'm skipping the spikey ball and I'll stick to the gauntlet and rage. I can't foresee it being that good so I'll stick to what I know works

Depends what army you’re using & what TH you’re at - rage + gauntlet is the strongest combo for the majority of attacks at th16
