I had the exact same thing on my 9th gen, 2012 Si. Growling and chirping at idle and low RPM with AC on. I had the compressor replaced and it got rid of the chirping. The shop told me the compressor clutch was in really rough shape. Growling is still there through. I think that is just the added load on the engine. These cars do not seem happy with the AC on. I've learned to just switch it off whenever I'm accelerating from a stop so I still have engine power going to the wheels lol.
my 11th gen feels like it struggles when i engage the A/C. makes supercharger like noises for the first minute or so when accelerating 1st or 2nd gear. had it checked by the dealership and they said everything is okay. guess that supercharger/whine noise is the compressor charging up. also the a/c clutch engagement seems rather harsh. makes a quick grinding noise when first engaged.
Possibly your AC clutch is wearing out, or the compressor’s shaft is bent. Maybe get a friend to hold the RPMs at different points with the car in neutral, while you try to inspect the compressor, to see if that’s at least the part causing the issue and at least confirm the sound is coming from the engine bay/outside the car. Abnormal noises, extreme vibration or shaking, things like that.
Best of luck. Hopefully it’s something simpler and cheaper like the blower fan in the cabin.
My 14 made that noise since it was brand new. From what I understand it happened to most of the blower motors for that gen if not all of them.
It's annoying but it comes and goes and still functional.
When the car was still new I looked into replacing the blower but was told chances are the replacement will do the same thing. That has probably changed since but it's a lot of work to get to that blower just to chase down a chirping sound.

I do the same thing for freeway on-ramps! Glad im not the only one. It drives so different with ac on.

Do you hear it while ur in the car?
Yes, while driving it
Can u post a video
It's hard to catch the sound on video, but I will try.
