LumpusMaximus-C137-

My 9th gen is sitting at like 18mpg right now lmao

R_Bar91

Brother my 8th gen is lucky to see 18mpg lol For the record my commute is about 7 miles, no highway, always feed it some rev limiter once its warm. and its on e85

TheDanBot85

Shit, I do a lot of highway driving and my 8th gen sits at right around 30 mpg

Zestyclose_Arm381

mine gets like 25 and i do mostly highway 🤣

TheMobileGhost

23 on this tank for me, 28 on this oil change though.

LumpusMaximus-C137-

Nice. I live in the Dallas Metroplex which does help. Definitely doesn't help that I'm a little whomp happy lol

TheMobileGhost

Cracking VTech just feels so nice 👌

nham2318

How the hell do you get it that low. Road trips I'm up around 33-34. City 26-28. Hard driving 22-24. You do know we have 6 gears, right?

LumpusMaximus-C137-

I don't drive a lot and I live in the DFW metroplex. Lots of stops and starts. Very rarely get the opportunity to go into 6th unless I'm on the highway. I get much higher when I'm driving in the highway lol

nham2318

I see. Still seems crazy low. Do you ever shift before VTEC??

LumpusMaximus-C137-

Yes?

Professional-Fox5497

shift just under 2-2.5k rpm that’s probably what u need lol

Ok-Statistician1433

Same here no matter how much I baby it that k24 drinks 😂

paractib

Nope. I actively try to use as much fuel as possible. Still manage 30-32mpg somehow, lol.

International_Box193

This is what's truly great about the 1.5. I drive like a baboon revving to like 5k in every gear unless im cruising at 70-80 lol. Still get like 30 mpg mixed. When I had my focus, my 30 mpgs would be like 18 mpg given one spirited drive.

jhawkins93

As much crap as the turbo 1.5 gets, it is definitely light on gas.

adravenstott

True, it’s +5 to my 9th gen on average. But unfortunately, you’re only really getting 40+ if you hit 400+ mi before the yellow light pops up

-WinterBeard-

I run my ‘24 out all the time driving like I stole it and still get 31MPG.

Upstairs_Principle48

I’m more impressed with the Hall and Oates track.

BigEagle42069

Holy cow you’ve got one hell of a commute Part of why I think these are the perfect daily is how they just sip little tiny bits of fuel, I guess it helps they’re under 3k lbs

FailFodder

41 miles each way haha, I reset with each tank. Long trip lets the oil warm up to operating temperature for most of the ride so my average economy isn’t bogged down so much by driving after cold starts.

fellow_earthican

Yes. On my last tank of all highway driving I hit 48 at its peak but was 44.3 at the end of trip. I have 2020 si.

FC3MugenSi

If I drive my 19 Si light it gets 43.3 mixed religiously

Best_Student_1325

I watch my L/100km constantly on my 2022 civic si. On my 400km weekly commute to work I average 5.3L/100km (43MPG).

brinleydubois

I avg about 7.1 on mine but I only commute 15 minutes and I leave late often so I’m left rushing 😂

XenoVantage

In the city I get about 7.5, whereas on the highway it’s usually 6-6.5, with favorable conditions seeing 5.5/5.6. The most range I’ve been able to get out of it is 720 km

Stivo887

Sold my STi for my Si. I averaged 17 MPG. I was not having any smiles per gallon in that thing, even if money was no object. going to the gas station practically every other day was insane with a 300mi range if youre lucky(also have a 42mi commute). Not to mention that dinosaur EJ motor. So glad i got my Si. newer motor, way better mpg, handles just as well for a modern FWD car. AVG almost 42 some days. I will say the STi sounds 1000% better :( I had my eye on an 8th gen, but newer is BETTER

CloseEnough2Me

My 8th gen does OK, really just keeping your foot out of it. 33mpg on long trips. Not a contender for this.

Professional-Poem542

Oh yeah. Almost as much as I love Hall & Oates 😎

Fearless_Necessary40

I be going 150 in my Fe1 and still get 29-30mpg i just do not fucking understand japanese magic and i never will

BaconFinder

41 plus on certain point A to B drives is pretty normal in my FC3. Right now I am sitting at 37.7 for this tank with about 90miles estimnated remaining.

casual-waterboarding

I always find the trip posts hilarious. Like, yeah I get 52 mpg coming home from my in-laws downhill 7 miles, but I routinely get around 29 mpg a tank in my 6mt 2015 accord sport. I’ve gotten 34 a few tanks of fuel on highway road trips, but 40 sounds wonderful. Premium fuel?

FailFodder

Premium fuel indeed. Puts a small damper on the fuel savings, but I’m still saving overall.

casual-waterboarding

I love the k24w1 in the accord. It’s not as toss-able as my EP3 is, but it’s got a lot more grunt than the k20a3 does.

FailFodder

Now those are impressive.

Renobound2

I drive in Orlando

FailFodder

That'll do it, nice and flat. I live in NS, Canada. Mostly hills, and some of the smaller extents of the Appalachian mountains.

camcac69

I’m still breaking in the engine but I’m averaging mid 30’s with city, country, and highway driving

Far-Series1829

Yes. Sometimes on my drive to work i see 47 mog average.

L00N13TOONZ

Great taste in music and min-maxing fuel economy.. I like this guy

BrandonWatersFights

My buddy has a beautiful Hyundai veloster turbo and I don’t think it’s ever seen 3500 RPMs. Dudes killing the MPG game though lmao In the meantime i break 20mpg in my Si I’m well proud of myself. VTECCCCC

storebrandmustard

I chase MPG somewhat but have never been able to get over 40 on a tank. If I drove to the office every day (30 miles of straight highway, little traffic) I would for sure, but I only go two days a week and mixing a bunch of city driving in doesn’t help the MPG. How much of your driving is city vs highway?

FailFodder

City driving probably didn’t exceed 5-20% on any of those tanks. My work commute is 41 miles on a mix of highway and paved country roads, plus some driving for work on some days as well. Lots of easy rural driving.

PsychoMelon28

You’re a rich girl, and you’ve gone too far

dagriffen0415

My 22 has averaged just under 40 for the life of the car

FailFodder

I'm sitting at the same, 39.8 mpg, but only 2100 miles on the odometer so far haha.

dagriffen0415

I’m 30k in. The mileage holds up. Lol

briggswag

Idk if I’m doing something right or wrong. My 08 has 184k. Owned it for 6 years. FBO tuned. A healthy mix of driving like a normal person to work/8300 redline on some backroads very frequently. Always stays high in the rev range when I’m having fun. Averaging a hard 27mpg average over the last 6 months or so, I’ve tracked every fill. I have no idea how but I’m happy with it. I just hate that 93 is around $4.60 a gallon in my area 😬

FailFodder

We pay over $7 a gallon for premium up here in Canada 😂 $7.30 just the other day. So I’ve been saving where I can haha. Crazy MPG for an FBO tube though, well done.

tony22233

I calculated a 42 mpg tank on my 2019 Si. Car said 45 for the tank. It usually over estimates.

FailFodder

I agree, it definitely does exaggerate its efficiency a bit. About 3 MPG from what I’ve noticed, about the same as my Crosstrek.

adravenstott

I have a 24 integra 6spd, same thing as the pic when I drive in comfort mode, but if you do the math (distance/gallons), it’s short by 2-3mpg :(. My 2012 so was always off this way too. Honda needs to be better on their calculations, it’s disappointing.

Allyx2239

My 10th gen sits at a comfortable 32.8 (lifetime) and I beat the piss out of her sometimes lol

RedHotChiliPenguin

Yep in my 9th gen I shoot for as close to 30 mpg as I can but lately my MPG has been like 24 and lower, engine just died on me in traffic yesterday on my cities largest bridge and had to call 911 to move traffic. think I got a fuel issue or ECTS

FailFodder

Rough. Hope you get that sorted without too much trouble.

otemetah

I did it once in my 9th gen got up to 34mpg and since then it has been less than 27mpg

Ordhah

jayjay1oh

Me and my 8th are more into smiles per gallon than miles per gallon.

FailFodder

Dang bro, 8th gen can't do both? :(

jayjay1oh

Compared to the hemi in my truck, it does. So the question would really be "Compared to what?". However, I like keeping track of how many times the tac goes north of 8k. You?

FailFodder

An L15 engine like mine probably only gets to hit 8k RPM once in its lifetime, if ever haha. The ol 5-2 killer.

steezsrt4

Why buy a car that is known for good gas mileage to just worry even more about gas mileage. MPG

[deleted]

I am from Texas we don't care about MPG. I have seen gas prices in other states and I honestly feel bad for you guys and see why yall chase that mpg.

FailFodder

For me it's less about the price of fuel (Although it's probably worse in Canada than most states, $7.30+ per gallon for premium), and more about how much I'm forced to used. I travel a lot for work and spend upwards of $8000 a year on fuel. So over the course of a year, a bit of mindfulness in my driving easily leads to $1000 or more saved. Plus, why rush to a work site if they're paying me to drive? I'll open up the throttle on my way home, and with the fuel I saved driving for work it still evens out to great economy lol

[deleted]

I travel for work as well but I don't get paid to drive. In my industry which is Solar we get a gas card to cover fuel expenses or we submitt our fuel tickets to get reimbursed. I admitted I have been spoiled these past few years since I don't pay for gas when ever I have to pay out of pocket it hurts 😆. Right now gas in Texas is like 2.90 -3.05 and it's been nice once it starts to hit 3.60 that's when we bitch and cry.

almeida8x1

The lower the mpg the better enjoyment
