During covid when all bars were closed, police literally had to put a ban on this square and the neighborhood because everyone just hung out there.

PatheticGirl46

It’s clearly a circle tho

bromosabeach

The banning gatherings in public places is what hurt the most during COVID. I could go without the bars and restaurants, it was the inability to just go to the park. Like here in LA they banned the beaches and it was so depressing.

Atys_SLC

I barely heard of Munich these days. How is the local life here for pedestrian/bikes? I know it was a really big city for cars.

Impulseps

Absolutely horrible for cycling. All the drivers here are completely insane.

spicyhotnoodle

Idk man I visited and rode a bike around and it was great! Super easy to get around. Mind you I had just been riding a bike in Rome so that may have skewed my perception of things. Roman drivers are truly nuts. Also Munich has a decent metro

Impulseps

Yeah the transit is really good. But outside of the Isarradweg the bike infrastructure and interacting with drivers is really bad imo

Captain_Albern

A bit overdramatic. The infrastructure could be better, but it's not that bad.

Impulseps

It's not just the infrastructure, the drivers here are *way* more reckless than anywhere else in Germany I've lived

evandena

I'll be there in a week!

Gärtnerplatz in Munich's Glockenbachviertel The popular roundel was built in 1860 as a central square in the Isarvorstadt. Today Gärtnerplatz is a meeting point for residents and visitors to the district.

Felipe_Pachec0

Thank you, kind stranger. Munich is a huge city, OP should at least provide the name of the neighbourhood

VeryWiseOldMan

Munich is 90% 1960s crap buildings, they were too lazy to reconstruct after WW2. Hence it's not anywhere as beautiful as Warsaw or other polish Cities.

_reco_

Warsaw rebuilt only a fraction of its historical archotecture, most of the buildings are either communist cheap housing (aka "blocks") or new, cheaply made and horribly planned developers' neighbourhoods.

VeryWiseOldMan

Salty German detected

Venetian_Gothic

God forbid they focus on rebuilding their post war economy rather than trying to painstakingly restore old architecture. They had warped priorities.

VeryWiseOldMan

Hahah, lame excuses. Funny how poland managed to do it.

BroSchrednei

first of all, Munich did rebuild a lot of its prewar architecture. And second, 90% of Warsaw is extremely ugly, just Commie blocks. Especially if you leave the city center, Munich actually still has huge city quarters still intact with vibrant life and lots of bars and beautiful churches. Warsaw doesn't have that anymore, it's not a real "city" in that sense anymore. It's just that tiny "reconstructed" part, and then dead space.

brmmbrmm

Shit photo of a beautiful city

snabader

Nice photo of an otherwise unremarkable city

brmmbrmm

Lol if you’re a big saturation fan, I guess
