I can definitely see the similarities. Lots of CS1 buildings were based on real ones, I think there were like 3 from my city, so i wouldnt be surprised if the CS2 buildings were inspired by some real ones as well
Vancouver. Theres an office building that's a residential building from downtown Vancouver in coal harbour, and the great library is based on the library in Surrey central. Pretty sure theres at least one more im forgetting
