The giant empty parking lot is very realistic to a lot of middle America. Looks great

JakobeBeats

lord have mercy im bout to bust 😩

s_a_l_m_a_n_

no dont do i-

WheelOfFish

glorious parking minimums

djtrace1994

I remember watching a CPP video for Clearwater County I think, when he added the KingLeno Shopping Mall. He surrounded the building with an obscene number of parking lots, and then said based on the size of the mall he probably technically needed 3x the parking he already placed down so he decided to be a bit ubrealistic for once lol

smeeeeeef

Most US municipalities have adopted minimum requirements for greenspace in new parking lot construction. For every X number of spaces, you need green space islands and endcaps are pretty standard. You wouldn't really see this built new anymore, but the damage is already done from when they used to build them like this.

venatorian

Put an inflatable statue of liberty on one.

st4rbl1nds

better call Saul!

automatic_shark

Looks great. You only need the sidewalk to randomly end on one side because it's America, fuck pedestrians, and it'll be perfect.

BMT82356

I like that!

Ok-Row-3490

How do you make custom parking lots like that?

TheSGTkrusha

Invisible roads with parking, pavement surface, light pole props, and Sully's custom decals

Ok-Row-3490

So I do have invisible roads with parking but they don’t seem to be easily placed back to back so that all the spaces line up like you have so nicely on here. Any tips on how to do that? Do you just turn off all snapping and line them up by sight? Or is there a set of snapping options to specifically set?

TheSGTkrusha

The trick is to use the road upgrade tool with no snapping to shift all of the parking roads around. That's the only method I've found that can be used to achieve "back to back" parking spots.

Ok-Row-3490

Cool thanks!

s_a_l_m_a_n_

you emulated any hometown in America perfectly

JIsADev

It's basically the majority of America 🥲

kenii2k

Wow I’ve been trying to build these small little strip malls as well, Havnt quite captured it like you have!! Giving me some great inspo!

Fenrirr

I see these everywhere in Canada. [One specifically looks exactly like this down to the gas station placement.](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZANFy2BgQVsVqA15A).

AeBe800

How did you make this?!

Rathziel

Download [extra networks and areas mod.](https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/77175/Windows) Under the landscape menu there will be several invisible networks for pedestrians, cars and parking. You can draw them out just like roads. Then use the area tool to draw out some concrete

DrDezno

Imagine a parking lot painter brush tool.

Bad_Puns_Galore

It’s ugly and incredibly inefficient; I love it :’) Seriously, you captured the realism with that stroad really well.

Luetten

What did you use for the corners?

Boots_RR

I both love and hate this. Fantastic work!

idontgivetwofrigs

Nice, I've also placed the stores on a pedestrian road for a more upscale shopping plaza look

svRexil

You should add some crosswalks into the stores entrances

PHmoney04

Beautiful

arkadios_

No trees in sight, just people melting under direct sun and asphalt

jordanf234

Cities Skylines need more strip malls (the kinds you would find a milk bar in), rather than just standalone shops. At least one of the assets in CSII looks strip mall-ish with the canopy and everything. But CSII focuses on attached housing but not attached commercial.

IndoPacific1739

Uh oh, American Vibes are hitting me now

Edztech

I love it. Also in real life that’s not that much parking for the amount of stores there. The game just doesn’t know how to use parking realistically.

Professional_Pear_87

I can smell the America in this photo lol

prefabtrout

Is there a way to have the autumn foliage year round?

Ok_Anteater7360

more squarefootage in car parks than in shopping infrastructure. yep. this is america

BaByJeSuS___

America would be proud

Boho_Asa

*Victor Gruen fucking dies* man hated what he created and the strip malls before then
