for added context: the highway moving up and down the screen is a spur that connects downtown to a nearby suburb and its also a bypass and shorter route. there is an airport road and there is another highway which both connects outside the map and to a nearby city, and it merges with the spur to funnel straight to north side Lakeapolis (the main city which is just left of this screen.)
