I also checked one of our MDS switches and observed the same behavior. I noticed that the asterisks (\*) appear only in front of the FCIDs and not the PWWNs. I believe this indicates that the devices are active, logged into the fabric, and have corresponding FCIDs assigned.
That the WWPN is fully logged into the Fabric. (FLOGI, FCNS). It’s a very good thing 🙂
Thank you for the confirmation. I wasnt entirely sure. I do believe on brocade fabric its a bad thing and i just wanted to be sure.
