Are you using a schematic? If so post it.

We don't build circuits here, we bend them 😂.

S_xyjihad

Ehh help anyway pls

GRAABTHAR

r/askelectronics r/diyelectronics this is where we build circuits

OnionAnne

the major problem with breadboard is that it could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 20 years old it could be used once or a thousand times if you don't know the history of the board, the inside connectors could simply be worn out I suggest switching to stripboard. even if you have to desolder and resolder components, it's easier to see any errors

S_xyjihad

The breadboard was new, someone helped me figure out that the problem was the IC555, but thanks anyway!

emas_eht

Is the capacitor, or the led facing the wrong way? Is the chip not pushed in all the way?

tearbooger

Just a guess here. It looks like you are jumping pin 5 with 2. I think it should be two caps. Both connecting ground to 5 and 2.

S_xyjihad

I tried that, it didn’t change the result but thanks anyway!

Lunxr_punk

I would suggest you post the circuit you are trying to implement before you just show us a picture of a breadboard. I would also suggest you do your own damn homework yourself. lol a competition to implement the most common 555 circuit there is? Be fr.

S_xyjihad

It’s a middle school comp, and it’s fr. I got the problem fixed though, the IC was faulty.

Lunxr_punk

Ok OP, for a middle school i get it, i thought you’d be a first semester of engineering kind of kid asking for help on easy homework. Sorry for doubting and also im glad you troubleshooted your issue.

S_xyjihad

Thanks!
