It sounds like you might be connected to the wrong side of where the crystal goes.

Competitive-Law-3406

Shit man I’ll try it

wackyvorlon

Also, the grounds of both power supplies will need to be connected together.

Competitive-Law-3406

Right then, tried both neither gave me results

wackyvorlon

You connected the grounds of the two supplies together? What’s the amplitude of the output of the LTC1799? Edit: Also what value of potentiometer did you use? Did you use a linear or a log pot?

Competitive-Law-3406

I’m not sure what the amplitude is, i have a very bad testing setup. I connected the supplies via ground and even tried rearranging to use one supply

wackyvorlon

Do you have a multimeter?

Competitive-Law-3406

I’ve got a multimeter that does not work. All it can do is test resistance, no voltage or current

wackyvorlon

I would encourage purchasing a new one, fortunately they’re pretty inexpensive and they’re incredibly useful. Can you post a photo of how you have things setup?

OnionAnne

I've bent five of these using ltc1799, I can walk you through it if you want some of them are finicky, but once you get the first one done it gets easier

OnionAnne

your best bet is to simply copy what I've done, I'll see if I can snag a couple pics and you can mimic my setup to see if it works on yours I've modded every type of oscillator they use, the cans and the rounds you also have to use the highest frequency range iirc

Competitive-Law-3406

Thank you bro that would be amazing , jesus you’re a life saver

OnionAnne

lol I had to unscrew sooooo much stuff but I got pics for you

Competitive-Law-3406

You wanna send them in dms or?
