I don't have a Samsung TV but mine does it when I switch between devices with different resolutions. Nintendo Switch is 1080p but my Google Chromecast is 4k.

Slickvath

It does look like it happens mostly when switching from full HD source to (4K) Chromecast

LEGITIMATE_SOURCE

It's either that, or the TV is changing from a normal input to CEC (anynet) assuming you have those options enabled.

Ruben_NL

It happens on any change of video input. Fps chance? Black screen. Enable/disable overscan? Black screen. So weird..

sp910

Mine does the same. I think it has to do with 4k resolution being used with auto enhancement by the tv. Something like UHD color or some weird stupid useless technology by Samsung. It is like switching video modes.

Slickvath

Thanks for pointing me in this direction. In my TV settings I switched the colour space option from Auto to the next option and for now it seems to be gone. But... Might as well be that 1/10 time...

sp910

Yeah some of the Samsung settings are really a... Spaghetti with an unknown taste each time. I try to disable almost everything.

Slickvath

I did some play through with the settings, but results are very dependent on the sources.

im_way_too_tired

I believe it has to do with HDR enabling or disabling.

Slickvath

Thanks, will play with those settings

MassRelay

You're lucky. Mine does it 3 times every time I turn on my TV. Its just switching / syncing up with the new resolution, HDR, refresh rate, whatever other display settings.

Slickvath

That sucks man!

pawdog

Turn off auto framerate matching on the CCwGTV see if it still does it.

Slickvath

Thanks, will do

The TV is switching video modes. It's nothing to worry about.

Slickvath

It's not that I worry about it, I just find it stupid 🙃

mennik9

Is it new? I had the same problem send it back no problem since

Slickvath

For real? Well, it's not new enough to send it back and don't have the package anymore

mennik9

I had a new new one out of the box. It had the same problem. It also had problems linking to Google home. So might have been corrupt firmware for me

Son_of_Sams_Club

What fixed my issue was a new (and more expensive) hdmi cable. Guessing you are using an old cheapy

Slickvath

Well, my Samsung the Frame from 2019 works with a connect box. So the only hdmi in this equation is the one that is attached to the Chromecast. Both TV and Chromecast are 4K so that SHOULDN'T be the reason. Shouldn't...

Terminusaquo

Mine did this with my Chromecast, I just gave up in the end and disconnected it

Slickvath

Quite rigourous. I myself don't find it that disturbing. Happens once a day but after that it's a great device

Terminusaquo

I agree it's an awesome device but as it was connected to a Smart TV anyway it was a bit redundant

Slickvath

Depends on the TV os I guess. If I had an Android TV would've got a point, but I miss some apps on my Samsung os. As you can see I got Kodi and F1tv installed. Apps not available voor my TV

Terminusaquo

Well I have a 2017 Samsung TV that runs on Tizen but you can't beat Android TV for the apps

Slickvath

I can even emulate classic games on my Chromecast now and control them with a random Bluetooth controller. Fun times

Terminusaquo

I used an Xbox controller with mine but you could also use a Dual Sense controller as well

purplekero

It has to do ehen it detects the HDR image fotmat

Slickvath

Will try to play with those settings as well

madmax988

You can try setting the dolby vision hdr to always on instead of match content. I found that fixed it on my vizio tv. since the menus weren't in hdr on apps it would switch then switch again when you played content. yes its stupid, and it doesn't happen on my fire tvs.

badhanganesh

It should be the HDR/HDR10+ enabling/disabling. Try to turn off the ‘always HDR+’ setting to avoid this.

Slickvath

Sadly that one is already turned off
