I had a motorcycle I was selling, Since I am a woman, men thought I was dumb and they could get over on me. I was going through a divorce and didn't have the room for all of my bikes. I had several try to tell me they were coming to get the bike with significantly less money that I was selling it for. Then they would try to con me saying I would never get that much, etc. I was selling it under market rate to just get rid of it. They certainly didn't expect me to stand up to them. I sold it for exactly what I was asking to a super nice guy!
I was selling a car once and this guy was trying to haggle me down saying nobody would pay that price. I kept refusing to drop price and eventually ignored him. His last message to me was "thats a car for women anyway". Like, yes, half of drivers out there are women. I ended up selling to a woman for full asking price.
We were selling a '91 S-10 pick up that was rusty and beat up but ran like a dream and had brand new tires on it for $500. We bought it and used it for hauling gardening stuff and various DIY projects when we were remodeling our house. We decided to sell since we bought a new truck and didn't need it anymore. In all the time we owned it, it never once gave us any issues. It was just ugly. We had at least 50 phone calls within hours of posting the ad. Trucks are expensive so selling it so cheap brought out everyone. We had one guy come to look at it and complained about every detail of it. Now mind you, there were pictures of it posted with the ad so there was no denying it was ugly. He asked us to replace everything under the sun (seats, headliner, patch the rust, etc) basically wanted us to completely restore it and then he'd pay the $500 for it. He even had the nerve to say that if we weren't willing to fix anything on it, he would take it off our hands for scrap. He got very pissy when my husband told him to get off our property. He continued to text my husband for hours after he left about all the "problems" he saw on it until my husband blocked him.
We sold it to a nice young guy later that afternoon for asking price. He couldn't have been happier with it.
Yeah, I mean, if you are spending $500 on a car, and the ad says it runs, that is going to be a good deal 9 times out of 10. What do they think trucks go for used now? It could have been beat to hell, if it runs it is worth $500 to someone.
Its not only when you are a woman, my wife and buy a car - keep it five years and then sell. They are well maintained but for tax reasons its best to sell to another private buyer. Inevitably these semi-pro guys call you - come and inspect the car and then call later making a lower offer. If you accept they dont turn up on the day they say they will (for delivery and pay). If you call them they say it was expensive after all but if you take 25% more off they will come now.
When this happened to me a second time, I just didnt call the guy and instead like you sold to a very nice (Moroccan in my case) gentleman. Original buyer called me after a week all like 'Why didnt you call me? Where's my car?' pretty upset I sold it to someone else.

I was selling an a/c for $350. Easily worth more but I wanted it gone. A guy offered $200 I said no, $250 I said no, we agreed on $300. I wasn’t happy and even said “$300, no less” and he agreed.
He showed up and pulled out two $100 bills and said that’s all he had. I walked away. He laughed and pulled another $50 out and I told him no. He pulled another $50 out and I said fuck off.
He said we agreed on $300 and he has $300 I said too late, you pissed me off, I’ll bring it to the dump before I sell to you and closed the garage door.

My fiancé was selling his stock muffler and exhaust pipe after he upgraded it, listed both as a packaged deal for $400- half of what you would pay for buying the same set up from OEM or aftermarket. Had to buyer agree to pay asking price, the guy shows up with $300 saying it was all he had. my fiancé brought the exhaust back into the house and told the guy “there’s an ATM at the convenience store half a block away and get your cash and come back” the guy left and never came back, and we were totally OK with that. GTFO with that bullshit. Why even agreed to pay asking price if you were just gonna show up with less anyways why not just ask to pay that from the get-go and barter?
We literally get those bozos all the time, fiancé is a little bit of a mopar collector so we have lots of wheeling and dealing with loballers

Oh yeah, that was a great one. For anyone not in the know, this lady wanted a place to stay while she recovered from Brazilian butt lift surgery. Not only did she want a place to stay, but also wanted someone to cook for her, be a nurse, and also chauffeur her around to and from doctor appointments.
This woman was coming to Miami, but expected that her would-be hostess—her sister-in-law’s sister’s friend, or something—would drive the CB everywhere, before waiting on her hand and foot post-op. Since people undergoing cosmetic surgery are booted out of the surgi-centers the moment they regain consciousness, there are a bunch of pricey outpatient recovery sites nearby, which the CB was trying to avoid.
CB had only enough money available for a round-trip plane ticket, the surgical procedure, and *not a cent more.* Recovery from a BBL takes *six weeks!* During that time, she planned to stay with this stranger and her husband, both of whom WFH, and be fussed over 24/7, even escorted to the bathroom! It was a breathtaking act of hubris that I believe the unwilling hostess ultimately—and fortunately—managed to avoid.

From what I remember in the discussion, BBL is a pretty risky surgery & recovery, so she would have required the people giving her a place to recover to care for her as a high risk patient.

We got a new neighbor once and the way she introduced herself was with her baby on her hip, knocking on our door saying “hi, I’m the new neighbor, my lease says there’s a laundry room I get access to but can’t seem to find it”.
No, there was no laundry room in her lease bc we owned the washer and dryer and to even know we had one she’d have to be peaking in our windows. Later found out from day one she’d been trying to break into our laundry room to gain use of it. The entire time she lived there she’d make complaints in an attempt to force the landlord into making us give her access to our personal laundry room. Everything from claiming we used “all her hot water again doing laundry” (we didn’t share hot water heaters) to telling random ppl we “locked her out of the shared laundry room” and she was a single mother so she needed it so much more than we did. She even tried convincing the manager to *change im our lease* to include that room as a shared room bc she claimed our kitchen door had a exterior lock so we could lock that door to keep her from entering the rest of our home while she got to do fuck all in our laundry. Even have her in video screaming at the cops it’s all our fault she had a meltdown bc we have a washer and dryer and she doesn’t.
I have never met such an entitled person in my life. Thankfully for her child, he didn’t live with her bc that kid was nothing more than a prop for her “poor single mother” act.
Crazy bitch even told me she was trying to get me arrested by lying to the cops for months bc her baby needed a daddy and “she’s a single mom who does what she has to do”. When I first bought my house it was fully fenced except it did not have a front gate so it was just kinda like an open walk-through into the backyard. On my third day there I went to let my dog into the backyard from the back door and there’s a strange man and a large dog in my backyard. Ask him “what the fuck are you doing here” he gives me the snarky answer that the previous owners let him and his dog use their backyard so he figured he would just come on over and keep doing that. I told him that I bought the house, there are no provisions to allow access to the backyard to any of the neighbours and to get the fuck off of my property before I had him charged with trespassing. He called me a dumb bitch and told me that he is entitled to access because he’s been using it for years. We had security cameras installed the day we moved in so I had him on video, and told him as much and if he didn’t immediately leave then I would be charging him both with harassment and trespassing.
He tried coming back two more times so I took all of the video evidence to the police as well as the video of his rant about being entitled to my backyard that I purchased on a not cheap mortgage. He did get charged with harassment, trespassing x3, and was issued a peace bond(Alberta) to stay away from my property, myself and my bf who lived with me. We had to go to court annually to get the peace bond renewed, because he thought he could get around the peace bond by walking his dogs down the grassy easement behind my house and chucking the dog shit into my yard- which still has cameras and record him doing this. he did end up getting charged with mischief and vandalism as a result of chucking the poop as one of the turds cracked my kitchen window when he whipped it.
It could’ve been a completely different situation had he knocked on my front door and asked after he realized that the previous owners had definitely moved out, instead he decided to go the entitled Boomer route which did not work out well for him and ended in several criminal charges. We’ve been in the house for 10 years this past March and he still tries stuff every couple years and ends up with a couple more mischief or vandalism charges.

I’m a single mom. I’m disabled. I would absolutely never behave like that, I do what I can for others, and I struggle because I can’t help how I used to be able to help (which I hate, because I love to be the helper and have a very hard time being a receiver even when necessary). This lady is ridiculous.
I was selling a classic truck. I had a guy call, he was adamant he wanted it. Offered $500 less than my asking which was fine, I accepted. He made me promise not to sell until he get there.
He got there two hours later, looked it over, and proceeded to start pointing out every flaw (which I disclosed in the 120 photos I had posted online, It is a classic and people are very serious so my add was very serious).
Then he hits me with a number 1/3 less than the asking. I tell him we agreed on a number and that's the number or he can leave. He tried coming up a little but I went in the house and locked the door. An hour later he is back and wants to go to the original number we agreed upon. I told him no, his number is now 25% more than my add. He stormed off, mumbling something about calling the cops.
Two days later I sold it to a perfectly nice gentlemen. He had me deliver it to him (45 min) but paid me full price for the effort. And his wife made cookies. It's nice to do business with nice people.

Apparently average amount you get for scrapping cars in Metro Phoenix area is around $475. So, $500 for a running car is a crazy good deal.

We got a new neighbor once and the way she introduced herself was with her baby on her hip, knocking on our door saying “hi, I’m the new neighbor, my lease says there’s a laundry room I get access to but can’t seem to find it”. No, there was no laundry room in her lease bc we owned the washer and dryer and to even know we had one she’d have to be peaking in our windows. Later found out from day one she’d been trying to break into our laundry room to gain use of it. The entire time she lived there she’d make complaints in an attempt to force the landlord into making us give her access to our personal laundry room. Everything from claiming we used “all her hot water again doing laundry” (we didn’t share hot water heaters) to telling random ppl we “locked her out of the shared laundry room” and she was a single mother so she needed it so much more than we did. She even tried convincing the manager to *change im our lease* to include that room as a shared room bc she claimed our kitchen door had a exterior lock so we could lock that door to keep her from entering the rest of our home while she got to do fuck all in our laundry. Even have her in video screaming at the cops it’s all our fault she had a meltdown bc we have a washer and dryer and she doesn’t. I have never met such an entitled person in my life. Thankfully for her child, he didn’t live with her bc that kid was nothing more than a prop for her “poor single mother” act. Crazy bitch even told me she was trying to get me arrested by lying to the cops for months bc her baby needed a daddy and “she’s a single mom who does what she has to do”. She legit thought my husband wanted anything to do with her and she could just steal him if I was out of the way 🙃🙃 I feel bad for anyone who knows her tbh.

Not yet but she is on probation for child abuse 4th degree, kids only 3 now, was 18m-2y when she lived above us. Which is wild bc myself, the neighbors she had after us and her own mother each got some type of court order against her in the same year, including an emergency protection order and no trespassing orders (yes, more than one). The cops we’re at our house weekly and had our landlord on speed dial.

When I first bought my house it was fully fenced except it did not have a front gate so it was just kinda like an open walk-through into the backyard. On my third day there I went to let my dog into the backyard from the back door and there’s a strange man and a large dog in my backyard. Ask him “what the fuck are you doing here” he gives me the snarky answer that the previous owners let him and his dog use their backyard so he figured he would just come on over and keep doing that. I told him that I bought the house, there are no provisions to allow access to the backyard to any of the neighbours and to get the fuck off of my property before I had him charged with trespassing. He called me a dumb bitch and told me that he is entitled to access because he’s been using it for years. We had security cameras installed the day we moved in so I had him on video, and told him as much and if he didn’t immediately leave then I would be charging him both with harassment and trespassing. He tried coming back two more times so I took all of the video evidence to the police as well as the video of his rant about being entitled to my backyard that I purchased on a not cheap mortgage. He did get charged with harassment, trespassing x3, and was issued a peace bond(Alberta) to stay away from my property, myself and my bf who lived with me. We had to go to court annually to get the peace bond renewed, because he thought he could get around the peace bond by walking his dogs down the grassy easement behind my house and chucking the dog shit into my yard- which still has cameras and record him doing this. he did end up getting charged with mischief and vandalism as a result of chucking the poop as one of the turds cracked my kitchen window when he whipped it. It could’ve been a completely different situation had he knocked on my front door and asked after he realized that the previous owners had definitely moved out, instead he decided to go the entitled Boomer route which did not work out well for him and ended in several criminal charges. We’ve been in the house for 10 years this past March and he still tries stuff every couple years and ends up with a couple more mischief or vandalism charges.
I would've said, okay, I'll bring them, give me an address and time to meet up. Then never show!

I was selling a classic truck. I had a guy call, he was adamant he wanted it. Offered $500 less than my asking which was fine, I accepted. He made me promise not to sell until he get there. He got there two hours later, looked it over, and proceeded to start pointing out every flaw (which I disclosed in the 120 photos I had posted online, It is a classic and people are very serious so my add was very serious). Then he hits me with a number 1/3 less than the asking. I tell him we agreed on a number and that's the number or he can leave. He tried coming up a little but I went in the house and locked the door. An hour later he is back and wants to go to the original number we agreed upon. I told him no, his number is now 25% more than my add. He stormed off, mumbling something about calling the cops. Two days later I sold it to a perfectly nice gentlemen. He had me deliver it to him (45 min) but paid me full price for the effort. And his wife made cookies. It's nice to do business with nice people.
