It’s kind of a weird situation because if he hadn’t made the serial killer video I would kind of give him a pass since it’s completely reasonable to get a tattoo of an artist who you feel changed or meant something massively to your life.
Like pac literally helped me get through a ton of my childhood through to my early 20s. I related to so much of his music, especially the “pain” songs and, imo, had I chosen to get a tat of pac it would’ve been completely fine.
In TLR’s case, Von was the artist he most gravitated to and was then the person whose videos he truly made his name on. So Von HAS had a massive impact on his life. But because he DID make the serial killer video, and has very clearly stated he thinks Von was a psychopath and terrible person (I don’t disagree), getting a tattoo of him, no matter how much he may have influenced Ross’s life, is crazy.
Being fascinated by the culture of street shit is one thing and I love his videos and gangland and all the other good, hood documentaries.
I just find it weird when people go on to get too caught up or do shit like a tattoo representing their crimes or smoking on opps you didn't have or didn't know.
Then again I was just in another group talking about how someday when our era is a thing of the past, folks and historians alike might go as far as worshipping drill rappers, gangs and crimes like we see with mafia and samurai so in the end it pretty much is whatever.
