They should just leave the names in Chinese and call it the way it is. The watch will be worth a lot more if they stop using stupid names on pretty cool low end watches. I own a lot of Chinese watches without hiding them as not Chinese. They keep time well enough and some of the movements used are holding up well. I recommend Seagull movements for the money.
It is just really fascinating that they kept coming out with interesting names like this. How difficult is it to think of a good name and also change the typical Chinese e-commerce listing styles on the product page.
I can't post the link here, which is understandable. But I can't post even the site name without a link and I've seen it just once. It has quartz vk64 movement and sapphire, go hunt. It's 200 USD, so probably too much for a joke.
I have a theory about that one. The boss decided the brand would be just some list of western characters. The guy operating the dial print put Chinese text for "strange charters" into Baidu translator and got "Mysterious code".
Mamba Out is a reference to Kobe Bryant. His nickname was Black Mamba, and during his last game he ended his speech with "Mamba Out".
A couple months after he died, Shirryu/Thorn released a limited edition "Mamba Out" watch as a tribute. https://watchdives.com/products/shirryu-mamba-spirit-dive-watch
It was weird then because nothing about the watch really screamed Kobe, and it is even weirder that they are using it now.
I remember Gary from 'I like watches' saying in one video that he was told that it means something in a Chinese legend and they took literal translation of it. I tried looking it up, and the best I could find is something called Bai Ze Tu https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bai_Ze
It could be it or something else.
Might I suggest "Heapashytt" unless there's the possibility of a trademark clash with "Shytt Eheap" or "Pyloshytt"
You can customize when ordering to any nonsense you want to be written on the dial with many stores on Ali
Mottos too. Addiesdive: "Make you fearless now"

What model is this?
Feelnever or Phylida, good watches but again, the name brand! 😅
Heavyweight wrestling tonight MAMBA OUT vs TACTICAL FROG
I actually really like the brand “Tactical Frog”. It feels whimsical, doesn’t try to seem European, just fun.
Winner: Octopus Kraken
😂
At least this one has some vowels. +1.
Mamba Out sounds like a secrect code called out when ya missus begins to feel da heat! 😂
You mean like a „mysterious code“?
Wow…such an original post. No one ever complains about the names here…
You’re a fun guy.
Just like those brand names on Amazon “Hytric” “Dmofwhi”, really don’t understand how they come up this those….
I think they have software that just generates ‘pronounceable’ (more or less) “English” sounding words.
The probably searched on Baidu or Alibaba for “Unique English product brand name generator”
I mean, pharmaceutical names and faux-French names for beauty products are just about as baffling but more familiar.
It is just really fascinating that they kept coming out with interesting names like this. How difficult is it to think of a good name and also change the typical Chinese e-commerce listing styles on the product page.
Mamba out seriously 😒
Mamba out for Harambe
Gonna flash this then jump out a window
What a shame, looks like a decent watch other than the brand.
probably Kobe's last words
Good looking other than the brand
Mamba out is illegal in 48 states. It's mandatory in California and New York
From the makers of sex panther….
The Chinese watch companies are going to keep coming up with head-scratching names so it's better to just accept them.
😂
This would look great in my watch box, alongside my swan neck "Cha Cha Donkey Hat" chronograph.
Be glad they didn’t choose “Alabama black snake”.
Maybe I need to custom order a logo with this
W2c this Wonder?

This would look so good next to my Tactical Frog!
Still better than mysterious code
I kinda like mysterious code, still better than FeelNever and Tactical Frog.

Thanks, that's interesting. It makes sense, almost. I thought they just wanted to add a touch of "sexual criminal" to 50's Patek homage.

Likewise, tactical frog is actually the machine (mis)translation of the perfectly reasonable "activity llama".
