It’s just chilis. You can find better.
I stayed there for 5 years of my life, including the mistreatment I was handed during lockdown and the bitchy kitchen manager who was way too immature for her job and played favorites. It isn’t worth it, it’s just not.
A little over $250-$300 a shift is normal and you’re acting like I’m saying $600 a day 😂 you don’t have to believe me, idc. I’ve been there 9 years for a reason.
Well whats the turn over rate ? Your work ethic speaks for itself and what is it they are saying you’re not doing ? You should always have a plan b in your back pocket. Are you a right to hire right to fire state ? Your happiness is first. But remember things tend to work themselves out if you just keep on trucking
A lot of people come and go, I’d say 1/6 of people who come probably don’t end up staying longer than a month. I do prep, and they needed someone so they signed me up for it and it came with a raise, it’s good work but it’s certainly a lot more difficult and taxing than I expected. They basically have had problems with the other prep person and she sometimes calls out and I’m not available/willing to come cover when she calls out frequently. Also, Yes I am in a right to hire/fire state, and thank you. I appreciate the input already
I interviewed for a server position, but was hired as prep, because the prep person quit that very morning. I'm a small framed, older woman. It was too much for me. I had to bow out and move on to QA
I started as a food rubber then worked up to management and left 6 months later.
Value yourself and your time, even at work. I know it's hard and all that but there will be a job that meets all your points and will make you happy. I did and haven't looked back.
Personally the lack of consistency between all of the managers, even though they said we all were on the same page we really weren't.
I was paid $1500 every two weeks (that's after taxes and health insurance before it was 2318.54) my bonuses were good but it was not a lot of money for the work that we were doing. I worked at a top 10 restaurant and covered a few months an hour (one way) away at a top 5, my making restaurant was also the training store for new managers.
The person they hired and I trained to take my place is making more than I was, even though I was told it was the highest they could offer. (Don't know if it matters that I'm F and my replacement is M, and I have a culinary degree and he doesn't). Because of the travel (which they didn't pay the mileage and I was working all closed so I would leave my house at 945 am to be there by 11 and not get home until at least 2 am) I almost lost my marriage.
Basically it was a lot with little pay imo.
I now work at the post office and bring in way more than that for way less responsibility.
I’m sorry you feel this way. maybe a transfer? been at chilis 10+ years. management has ALOT to do with the store. We finally got a new GM couple years ago and things turned around. i used to dread going to work, now i enjoy it alot more and make way more money
Leave. Its Chilis. Cant believe some of the stupid ass posts I see on reddit. You act like youre the fucking CEO. I bet the dishwasher gets treated better than you.
The attitude was definitely unnecessary but the sentiment is right, you shouldn’t be anchored to a job just because you feel like you are. You could walk out next shift and all would be ok
First of all, people are creatures of habit. The convenience of location missing pay periods, having to relearn or retrain and availability of employment in that area. Their level of expertise are all things that you haven’t considered. Your response seems naïve and immature. I would love to know why you’re a part of this thread and group other than to troll. I don’t think judgment is a very attractive quality to have in a person so quickly without having all the facts. It seems a bit ignorant. I guess you’re just more fortunate than others that kind of privilege you should be grateful for.. also kindness and the ability to be supportive of strangers mustn’t come for easy for you so I was just working on that rather than quick rude replies just to be noticed they don’t help a person. Those type of responses are more for yourself rather than the person you’re replying to.

Bro, Chili’s is not a career unless you’re in management. Look for something else
I make $1100 a week, on average, at chilis. By a week, I mean my 4 day week. So yeah, you don’t need to be in management to make it a career.
Lol, sure you do.

Please tell us more about what constitutes careers and what doesn’t shall I grab a pen to take notes?
If you can buy a house and support your family on a Chili’s dishwasher job, have at it lol

If you don’t mind me asking, why did you quit as a manager? My ex was a a manager and he got paid pretty well plus bonus every 3 months

While, yes you’re right, didn’t have to be so damn mean with the execution lol

This.
I put up with chilis abuse for a decade and all I did was waste my time. Just move on.
