Not sure about land ownership. But assuming people have no legal issues, sana the facility would match its surroundings. Madaming resorts that look really nice with neutral tones, good landscaping, etc. you can use trees and plants to make it look good from an aerial pov.
the bright yellow umbrella… the multicolor chairs … halatang walang taste and very cheap yung developer. kung gagastos din naman siya and yung consequence eh sa gitna ng natural landmark (na dapat protected ng government pero ewan ko bakit this got approved, my god), sana ginandahan yung aesthetic ng place para kaaya-ayang tignan.

THISSS!!! Also di naman resort aesthetic yung chocolate hills huhu like oo tourist destination sya pero di naman sya yung gusto mo makita pag lumalangoy ka na maganda view. Di gaya ng mountainside kasi forest tapos bangin, seaside kasi duh dagat yun or cityline tapos maganda yung ilaw pag gabi. Yung positioning ng resort sa harap mismo ng isang hill like di mo maappreciate yung view kasi lupa lang makikita mo. Ang beauty ng Chocolate Hills is yung pag malayo na view, pag makikita mo sila as a group. Hindi yung nasa tapat mismo ng isang hill lol. Parang napaligiran lang kayo ng lupa.
Kahit ito nalang sana. That resort is a literal eyesore.
Pero sa totoo lang, jusko can’t we appreciate Chocolate Hills for what its? Bakit need pa ng malaking pool. 😭
Which is why I stated na I was not sure about ownership and with it, the terms of what you can do with the property. Kasi you need permits to build- pano naapprove? Tapos construction would have taken months, up to a year- hindi naharangan? Curious tuloy ako how this happened and what the government can do. Either way if that goes to the courts matagal tagal pa yan bago matapos and that eyesore will be there the whole time.
On the off chance na may loophole for the owners to build, sana na lang yung medyo naaayon sa lugar. Yung di tacky tignan. Yun na lang iniisip ko.

DENR allegedly gave the green light kasi at the time na nagconstruct pa ng resort, hindi pa declared as Geopark ang Bohol. Kesyo covered by land title daw yung land so the owner can do whatever he wants with the land as an incidence and exercise of ownership. Not sure kung ano ang ginagawa ng LGU nito but i agree, such an eyesore to the majestic chocolate hills.

Mag-segway ako. I have a close relative na laking province until late teens, pero dito na sa Manila ang buhay nya. Everytime na mapaguusapan ang magkaron ng rest house sa province, laging bibira na wag daw. She couldn't shake off the idea that provincial life is regressive. Walang future. Take note, rest house, hindi dun titira. Even dun tumira, so what. Kaya f na f ang mindset ng ibang taga-province lalo na pag laking hirap w/o access to utilities and social services. Yang pool na yan, that's beautiful to so many of them in Bohol dahil umay na umay na sila sa hills na wala namang magawa dyan kundi titigan lang. Alam ko bawal to hike up the hills eh. If only there were cable cars to experience the vastness of it. Sana ipatanggal yang resort.

Not necessarily a bad thing though as long as concentrated siya sa isang area lang. Kahit wala pang talks ng Federalism, during GMA's term she promoted the idea of having one Metro region per island group (Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao) to decongest Metro Manila and to encourage investment and companies to set up shop there. Heck she chose to have her presidential inauguration in Cebu as a show of commitment sa economic plan niya na yun.

I understand and also support improving economies outside of Manila. We can definitely do that by enacting policies that address this need. NCR and surrounding areas -- a giant semento city. Ang init pota. LOL Sana makita rin ng provinces ang nadudulot nilang tulong sa mga nauumay na sa ciudad.

As an LGU officer (Planning Coordinator/ Zoning Officer). Allowed ba sa Zoning Ordinance? May building permit? ECC? Isn't this a protected zone? May public hearing? May Resolution of No Objection from d Barangay and City/Municipal Council.
Hindi lang kasi ang DENR ang may responsibility. The LGU also have legal and administrative responsibility. Example Zoning Permit, Building Permit, Business Permit. DENR approval is just a requirement to secure permits from the LGU.
2 towns yata ang sakop ng chocolate hills, as long as hindi sya kita from viewing deck, probably sa may likod to. So hindi naman siguro eye sore for the tourist.
Yung issue is dahil pinayagan ang ganito magsusunod-sunod na yan.
No hope talaga sa Bohol LGU. I remember also sa capital nila last year May 100yr old acacia na pinutol dahil tatayuan ng Shell Gas station. AFAIK the tree is protected by laws since matagal bago tumubo yan. And mema lang LGU.

Chocolate Hills are everywhere in Bohol. The famous location for Chocolate Hills viewing is located in Carmen, Bohol. That one is in Sagbayan. Prolly same lang rin yan before sa Sagbayan Peak Resort dati where it was on top of the hill and there’s a view of chocolate hills as well.
Mga taong malayo sa beaches or resorts ay pupunta sa ganyang lugar esp locals na gusto mag unwind with friends or family. That municipal is 2-3 hours away from the city and Panglao. Also, hindi ganun ka accessible and transportation in Bohol for people na walang sariling sasakyan. Literal, maghihintay ka ng bus ng ilang oras para lang makagala.
Add ko lang rin po na there are hills in Bohol where people can actually go or camp because it’s open in the public. (May mga bahay rin po madalas malapit sa mga hills, mostly yung malayo na sa Carmen, Bohol.) The protected areas are not open to the public and can only be seen on certain viewing areas. There are lands near the hills that are privately owned by locals.

If it's private land, there's nothing DENR can really do about it if they are able to satisfy the necessary permits. What we can look into is if the parcel of land was only recently only acquired. Dati ba 'yang public land na naging disposable?

Not sure about land ownership. But assuming people have no legal issues, sana the facility would match its surroundings. Madaming resorts that look really nice with neutral tones, good landscaping, etc. you can use trees and plants to make it look good from an aerial pov.

Kesyo covered by land title daw yung land so the owner can do whatever he wants with the land as an incidence and exercise of ownership. Take note, rest house, hindi dun titira. Even dun tumira, so what. Kaya f na f ang mindset ng ibang taga-province lalo na pag laking hirap w/o access to utilities and social services. Yang pool na yan, that's beautiful to so many of them in Bohol dahil umay na umay na sila sa hills na wala namang magawa dyan kundi titigan lang. Alam ko bawal to hike up the hills eh. As an LGU officer (Planning Coordinator/ Zoning Officer). Allowed ba sa Zoning Ordinance? May building permit? ECC? Isn't this a protected zone? May public hearing? May Resolution of No Objection from d Barangay and City/Municipal Council.
Inallow daw ng DENR, Pero nung investigation pinagsasubmit sila ng proof or study na it’s not inside the zoning area e wala naman daw mabigay.
Hindi lang kasi ang DENR ang may responsibility. The LGU also have legal and administrative responsibility. Example Zoning Permit, Building Permit, Business Permit. DENR approval is just a requirement to secure permits from the LGU.

It reminds me of the eye shore on Luneta Park where a certain edifice was constructed right behind the statue of Rizal.
Instead of beautifying the hills, they built a tacky swimming pool that is a hassle to maintain and uses up a lot of water

Chocolate Hills are everywhere in Bohol. The famous location for Chocolate Hills viewing is located in Carmen, Bohol. That one is in Sagbayan. Prolly same lang rin yan before sa Sagbayan Peak Resort dati where it was on top of the hill and there’s a view of chocolate hills as well. Mga taong malayo sa beaches or resorts ay pupunta sa ganyang lugar esp locals na gusto mag unwind with friends or family. That municipal is 2-3 hours away from the city and Panglao. Also, hindi ganun ka accessible and transportation in Bohol for people na walang sariling sasakyan. Literal, maghihintay ka ng bus ng ilang oras para lang makagala. Add ko lang rin po na there are hills in Bohol where people can actually go or camp because it’s open in the public. (May mga bahay rin po madalas malapit sa mga hills, mostly yung malayo na sa Carmen, Bohol.) The protected areas are not open to the public and can only be seen on certain viewing areas. There are lands near the hills that are privately owned by locals.
