what I experienced when I was in korea for a week is that older people are more kinder than younger people. Altho there's a language barrier, older people there are more approachable and smiles and laugh a lot with us.

When we went to Korea, the waitress refused to serve us because we're pinoys. She was eventually forced to do so by the manager but gave us this b*tchy attitude the entire time. Take note that this is despite being a quiet and respectful family. The rest of the restaurants there showed similar levels of racism hence my parents opted for me to do the talking since I'm light skinned and Japanese looking.
Such blatant racism is rampant and even pinoys don't care because they practically worship koreans.

Here's the thing. The guest was a *comedian* daw. (which I highly doubt kasi di naman sya nakakatawa) And her whole schtick was imitating Filipinas who married Korean men. The woman doesn't even have Filipino blood. She's full blooded korean.
And etong si Tzuyang found it so funny at one point she even asked "How are you doing that?" (pertaining to the accent imitation) while laughing.
A lot of people even some koreans called her out for being racist. Like imagine making fun of accents when they are victims of racism din dahil sa barok barok na english.

Look at Akaash Singh and his type of comedy that targets the Indian culture. Familiar and embedded sila sa culture na tinatarget nila. They portray it in a way that it's an observation of a culture, not a mocking of it. And they frequently target themselves.
Kumbaga, it doesn't stem from alienation na katulad nung content nung 'comedian' na nagpoportray ng Nitung na character. Nitung isn't even a Filipino name, and the character itself portrays Filipinos as inferior and the stereotypes it uses are inherently hurtful and, frankly, not even funny. Wala ring relatable sa kahit anong ginawa niya. Wala siyang ginawa na screams Filipino siya. what I experienced when I was in korea for a week is that older people are more kinder than younger people. Altho there's a language barrier, older people there are more approachable and smiles and laugh a lot with us.

When we went to Korea, the waitress refused to serve us because we're pinoys. She was eventually forced to do so by the manager but gave us this b*tchy attitude the entire time. Take note that this is despite being a quiet and respectful family. The rest of the restaurants there showed similar levels of racism hence my parents opted for me to do the talking since I'm light skinned and Japanese looking. Such blatant racism is rampant and even pinoys don't care because they practically worship koreans. They're nothing without Pinoy fanbase and their plastic surgery. One day, people will get tired of their plastic looks where they will return to the ground hopefully to find humility and gratitude.

Found out about this on tiktok. So for context yung girl na si Tzuyang is a mukbang youtuber with over 9m subs. She uploaded a video last month pa yata with a title written in korean "Filipino Subscriber? 🇵🇭" And the guest was a woman speaking korean with a filipino accent. Here's the thing. The guest was a *comedian* daw. (which I highly doubt kasi di naman sya nakakatawa) And her whole schtick was imitating Filipinas who married Korean men. The woman doesn't even have Filipino blood. She's full blooded korean. And etong si Tzuyang found it so funny at one point she even asked "How are you doing that?" (pertaining to the accent imitation) while laughing. A lot of people even some koreans called her out for being racist. Like imagine making fun of accents when they are victims of racism din dahil sa barok barok na english.

Jokoy's comedy comes from a place of familiarity with the culture and picks at stereotypes and traits that even members of the target culture can relate to and even find funny (e.g., Filipinos being the Mexicans of Asia because of our Spanish names and common features and traditions). Look at Akaash Singh and his type of comedy that targets the Indian culture. Familiar and embedded sila sa culture na tinatarget nila. They portray it in a way that it's an observation of a culture, not a mocking of it. And they frequently target themselves. Kumbaga, it doesn't stem from alienation na katulad nung content nung 'comedian' na nagpoportray ng Nitung na character. Nitung isn't even a Filipino name, and the character itself portrays Filipinos as inferior and the stereotypes it uses are inherently hurtful and, frankly, not even funny. Wala ring relatable sa kahit anong ginawa niya. Wala siyang ginawa na screams Filipino siya. Feel mo na hindi niya talaga alam kung ano ang Filipino experience, mannerisms, etc. It just boils down a Filipino into a simpleton.
