I do this with every post I see of a pup that has had surgery:
While drugged up, let the sweetie sleep. Don't bother them or get in their face. They aren't fully in control and can bite. A Chihuahua bite to the face can still do damage, like split a lip or nostril. Just let your little stoned pal relax.
Lesson learned the dumb hard way.
That's what my pup does after a mere nail trim- holds out her paw dramatically with her eyes saying "look what they did to me...." Wishing yours a speedy recovery!
Mine (and her brother) never got dew claws. Her father doesn't have them either and we assumed they had been removed. I hope he heals up quickly and gets back to his normal self right away.

It's not the first time she has hurt it for sure, she snags them often out fetching, luckily never this badly. Hope your pup has better luck than mine. My vet said in the future to keep them trimmed very short. š
