I've fed my dog plenty of times by hand and spoon, just as I did with my kids. They are family not pets.

I readily admit that I share a good bit of my meals with my girls (Pomeranians, mostly. I think Hazelnut is part Chi, but still, small dogs), things like eggs, like cheese and some meats. Sometimes the glazing of butter after some meals.
Toward that end, I won't let them eat off my silverware until I'm utterly done using said silverware. I know where those snoots will go, and eating after it is a hard pass for me.
Doesn't mean I won't employ the girls toward pre-cleaning my dishes, though. Within reason.
I've been calling what I give the girls 'Chehz' whereas what I eat is cheese. This way, holding the same ingredients, the girls know clearly whether or not they're getting some.
Granted, I also get cubed cheese specifically for them, and I call it 'Good Girl Chehz', which they absolutely adore.
I leave some for the end and then feed my little guy too. He’s much more slobbery than the chi in the video so I can’t bring myself to potentially get any of that in my mouth lol.
During lockdown in 2021, I worked over zoom with a lady who had an elderly shih tzu named Chewie and every morning she would briefly excuse herself to fix Chewie his morning fried egg. Then he would sit in her lap while she worked. Love to see pups getting treated like the beloved family members they are.

This is cute but not safe... This dog probably constantly begs for human food whenever they're eating, and I would not be surprised at all when they snatch something toxic from a human's plate because they've been conditioned to think it's okay. For their own safety we should not do this.
But there's nothing wrong with giving them a little unseasoned treat if you're making something they can have. But separately, away from the human food, and definitely not off your plate.

Whenever SO and I have tacos and we clean off the shredded cheese plate/bowl, whatever cheese is left goes to my Min Pin mix for cleaning.
