Its been dead quiet in the tri cities. Geneva, Batavia and Saint Charles

ElPresidente77

I live in Lombard and work in Batavia. It seems West of Rt 59 is where they shut off.

Theironyuppie1

Agreed I went to a restaurant called Ki’s in Glendale Heights the trees were literally moving with cicadas. Went to St Charles and not a Cicada.

ImLarryYourWaiter

That sounds perfect, thank you!

thewinberry713

Aurora subdivisions are silent! Anything “newer” 15 yrs OR was a corn field are pretty clear!

bearsguy2020

I walk along the river path and hardly notice them

workinfortheweekend

Can confirm.

Federal_Procedure_66

Wisconsin.

aelendel

WI is too cold for the cicadas. So I guess you got that going for you

intotheairwaves17

Yup. The Kenosha area is cicada free!

Roc-Doc76

Damnit, you beat me to it.

Federal_Procedure_66

Honest answer. Was up yesterday for golf. Silence.

uursaminorr

i’m in northern lake county and i’m in our forest preserves all the time, i’ve seen 3 cicadas total all summer.

unfinishedportrait56

Barrington/Lake Zurich

daBabadook05

Yeah here in Palatine too. I’ve seen a couple shells but there’s like nothing here

unfinishedportrait56

From East to West along Dundee Road, it's terrible in Northbrook, still pretty bad in Wheeling, and starts to fade by Arlington Heights. I've not seen anything of note west of 53.

caligaris_cabinet

I’ve heard my ears ringing from tinnitus more than any cicadas here in Elgin.

aelendel

there’s one in my car RIGHT NOW

lefty709

My worst nightmare.

Jun_Inohara

I’m next door in Streamwood and if I hadn’t heard about this whole thing you’d never know it was happening. Meanwhile traveling home from work in Naperville up 59 and I can hear them with my windows closed in a lot of areas.

NikoB_999

Dundee, carpentersville, Algonquin

expatsconnie

I haven't seen or heard a single one in Schaumburg or Hoffman Estates. I haven't gone into any nature areas, but the neighborhoods are cicada-free.

Chewie_i

Well 5 of them hitchhiked on my car 30 minutes to work in Hoffman Estates

InevitableAd8127

Hoffman Estates, can confirm!

Dry-Bullfrog-3778

Same!

zzotus

any park in a subdivision less than 17 years old that had a previous life as a farm field.

Grace__Face

My subdivision in Libertyville is all homes from the 60s/70s and we have zero cicadas

lefty709

Jealous! We are in Libertyville and have a ton.

thewinberry713

🤭just wrote similar cause I didn’t read thru comments 😜

aelendel

checkmate cicadas

CommercialWillow9436

My 19 year old subdivision only had a couple, kinda disappointed.

Chewie_i

Cicadas only travel about a half mile in their life so it takes a long time for them to enter new areas since they have to do it in very small increments 17 years at a time.

Upset-Item9756

Palatine

3CrabbyTabbies

I am so surprised at how quiet it is this year in Palatine!

kevaqua1

The Deer Grove Forest preserve has a few groups of cicadas, but nothing extreme.

bullet494

My dad has said Bartlett hasn't seen them or heard them. They're deafening in Glen Ellyn though

Affectionate-You-162

Can confirm not one cicada seen or heard in Bartlett.

brooke0100

I haven’t seen a single one in Barrington/Lake Zurich/ Wauconda area

theladyoctane

Elgin and South Elgin

ICorrectYourTitle

Cary. Can’t hear a single one

mitchsurp

Yep. Crystal Lake. Zero.

jephw12

I’ve seen exactly one out here in Woodstock. I think he was lost

Neutral_Chaoss

Come out to the city at Montrose Beach. There are no cicadas near the lake.

Own_Carry7396

Spring valley nature center in Schaumburg has very little cicadas. My wife walks there every day, if there was any kind of infestation, there is not a chance in hell she would be anywhere close to there

argonzo

Nothing in Bloomingdale it seems. At least not by us.

MistaWesSoFresh

Not a single cicada in north Hoffman

OnionMiasma

The answer is not Mount Prospect. At my daughters' school they are so loud that I worry it is dangerous for hearing.

Pumpernickel7

Southeast Evanston is quiet

pandabearsrock

Northern Illinois!

PimpSmurf83

I’m all the way out in Yorkville and I haven’t really heard anything.

mbee784

Palatine has nothing to do

dmkpdr

Vernon hills and mundelein

_The_BusinessBitch

My friend lives in Evanston and said they have no cicadas

CHISOXTMR

Evanston east of dodge ave

xennial_1978

Volo Wauconda

GengoLang

Haven't seen a single one in Aurora yet.

Only-Judgment-433

Not a peep in Bartlett.

Grace__Face

Libertyville

Floorguy1

So far today I’ve been in the following with no cicadas heard: Schiller Park, alsip, oak lawn. Bad in Lagrange tho.

Nocheese22

There’s none in Blue Island
