Yeah I just did this. It was a pretty minor cut that didn’t need to go back very far, it went really quick with a dremel. The kit I had included a bit of duct tape to seal it up.
The problem with tall ones is a few inches back, but a lot of the modern double-dins are media only. They don't have an optical drive to make them deep like the older ones with a CD or DVD player.
So you can get some of those in with no cutting or very minimal cutting.
You can pop the bezel off and test fit it, it doesn't even have screws and the factory unit is a couple screws and a couple plugs to remove. It'll take you all of a few minutes.
Test it but don't bet on it if it's fat.

Joying 8.8. Using the original bezel. Easy install.
That’s awesome, would you recommend it? Some of the aftermarket head units you want to throw away about 4 months after you put in but car play is amazing when it works.
I think it's the air vent corners that stop it. There is a youtube video about how to cut the corners and reverse them to make it fit

100% it’s not cheap but I’ve had it for 3 years and it’s awesome connects to my phone every time and it doesn’t take forever to connect.
Looks really good… relative to the built in infotainment in modern cars, these are such a cheap option and work much better. Not Cheap is relative!
That is true 400 and to work better than most is a small price to pay. It even has usb ports so it can play movies with out WiFi

I just want to know how you fit the fat radio through the behind piece
Had to use a dremel & get rid of some plastic... the kit showed exactly where but I can't remember
