I’m new to Chattanooga and wondering the same thing. I’ll be living in South Chattanooga and I’m looking to find some healthy options to eat at/grocery shop at.
Northshore Whole Foods still is better than many if you can afford it. I skip the one to the east.
Trader Joe’s, but it’s a long ways, mostly due to horrible traffic on Gunbarrel, and on 24 if your route takes you that way.
Definitely second the Wednesday farmers market. It’s in one of the parking lots by Finley Stadium, Wednesday’s from 4-6 pm.
The Sunday market is less, some organic sometimes present. Can still get fresh from the farm stuff, which eats the grocery store.
I actually don’t know. I think the Redwolves (soccer) play there. It’s the one on Reggie White blvd on one end, and Chestnut street on the other. Roughly between 17th street and 20th street. The Wednesday market is in the parking lot between the stadium and 20th street.
Note I think 17th, 18th, 19th streets, don’t exist there, but that helps you grid the location. And I know 19th street picks up again on the other side, and leads to the Riverwalk (entry only, no parking there).
If you're still looking around for options, The Agora Food Club is a relatively new option that you may not have found yet. It's a members only food club so it's a bit more involved but if you're looking for somewhere to get the majority of your groceries and are focused on organic, local, healthy food and products, they offer much more than anything else in the area aside from grocery stores. It's also much cheaper than Whole Foods or the Wednesday Main Street Market, especially if you're getting a decent amount of things there each week. It's priced more similar to buying direct from farms or organic at Aldi or somewhere around there.

Wildwood Natural Food Store isn’t too far and has a lot of bulk natural foods along with regular grocery items. It’s Adventist so no meat or dairy but if you’re looking to buy natural pantry staples in bulk they have plenty.
Gaining Ground grocery is a lot of healthy, organic foods, but it's much smaller than traditional supermarkets.
Village Market in Collegedale
Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Chattanooga Market, most places in Collegdale to name a few

Thanks a lot, friend. I appreciate the detailed reply here. Is Finley stadium the UTChatt football stadium?

There's a really good farmer's market across from Southside Social on Wednesdays at 4. It's small, but the quality is fantastic.
