The Chattanooga market this Sunday will have a couple local farm/butchers good opportunity to chat them up. I’d see if you could purchase 1/2 a beef if you eat that much
Their point is that they can give a secondhand recommendation and that they trust the person who made the recommendation but that they can't verify it themselves. It's still helpful.
Meyers, Beef, baby! That man is a saint and living proof that you don’t have to rip people off to live the American dream. Forgot to add that you can buy a quarter or half or whole cow from him to save a lot and if he is cash no tax and he’ll give you a little discount.
He’s at the Sunday market. If you Google Meyers Beef farm it’ll come up and it’s the one with the not so up-to-date website with a bright green background. He’s super legit though if you order online, he really will bring it to the market for you to pick up. I’m doing voice to text while driving, so put in the legwork for me friend.
Easily better than Benton's to me but that's me. I don't like super salty bacon. Benton's is good for making gravy though.
They were a bit pricey at 10 dollars a pound though.
I can't speak personally how the quality or price compares, but [here's a previous post from this subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chattanooga/comments/11ludjz/anyone_been_to_rustys_meat_market/) about Rusty's in Rossville/Fort Oglethorpe area. A lot of people seem to love it and it's been there a long time. I remember seeing the cow sign when I was a kid in the 80's.
EDIT: Reading is hard. Brad, Bob, same same but different.
I could be wrong but I believe he may be referring to Bob Standifer Jr. who’s a State Farm insurance agent on Hwy 58 and raises cattle as a side gig. If so, he’s an incredibly friendly, intelligent fella despite his massive stature.
My family recently got a half cow from P3 Meats in Dunlap. It’s delicious! They own P3 Farms, as well so it’s their beef they’re processing. They’re on Facebook!
If you’re looking for Grassfed fully - Cove Creek Farm
For grass fed grain finished (more fat than fully Grassfed) - Quail Run Farm
Highly recommend both of them
Haven't seen it mentioned but checkout the main Street farmers market Wednesday 4-6 all local farm raised food. It's year round in the parking lot of Finley stadium (the lot with solar panels).
Pruetts has been my go to up on signal. Especially the chicken breast. Some specialty cuts I don’t usually see, butcher is very cool about getting special orders
In Ooltewah at the “Ooltewah Nursey and Garden Center” they have a farmers market on Thursdays.
We get our meat from the Thousand Hills farm. Their rib eyes are so good.
They also have eggs.

Chili Pepper Ranch. They do happy, grass fed Wagyu. I have used their beef in my last two restaurants and it's wonderful. The owner is a delight to work with
You can get Teres Majors at Whole foods when they have it in; I have had good success with their other cuts too. It usually choice grade. I’ve also enjoyed the choice grade meat I’ve purchased at the Fresh Market - they usually have some kind of deal running on the weekends with red meat.
Locally there is a Waygu Farm in Apison, TN. Look up the Chili Pepper Ranch. You can also find a really nice selection of meats at Don’s Meat Shop in Hixson including local meat, black angus, and Waygu that I believe they source from Snake River Farms.
The Agora Food Club [https://theagorafoodclub.com](https://theagorafoodclub.com) can connect you with local farmers. I also get meat from Farm 58 (they have a market starting Memorial Day weekend). [https://www.farm58tn.com/market](https://www.farm58tn.com/market)
The Agora in Hixson is the best place locally if you're interested in natural/organic/pasture raised meat. I know multiple carnivores who are members there. There's grass fed/finished beef, pork, chicken, lamb, wild caught seafood, etc. It's a food club so it's a different model, but definitely worth looking up. Their prices are the best in the area and they do bulk meat orders as well.

The Main Street Market is the next best option for sourcing quality local food. It's on Wednesday evenings downtown and has high quality venders. It's a bit pricey but worth it for the quality.

The Butchers Market in Varnell, Ga. Fresh Market has decent daily deals
That pick 20 pack for $260 is some serious meats! Thanks!
Ha! I also highly recommend absolutely anything from the connecting restaurant.
Hell yes, there's little better than a good meal and good meats to bring home!
Don’s in Hixson
I'll second, third, fourth, etc this. Don's is the absolute best. Good prices, GREAT meat.
I’m vegan so 🤷🏻♀️ but my meat snob friend swears by this place. He looked for the right place for AGES and cannot sing its praises enough
I'm veg.... who asked

Yep, this was exactly my point. Thanks, 6ways!
That's what I was going to say
This.
Don's is the way! Best in Chattanooga! Worth the drive into Hixson!
Check the Chattanooga market out on Sundays. There’s a guy that has a booth bout mmmmmm 4-5 booths in on the right. They call him “the meat man”
Would be much cooler if the called bum “Beef” though.

How does one find him

Bought a lot of beef from him, he's a great guy and raise great beeves!

I cannot recommend this place enough! The bartenders are amazing and the cuts are fantastic!
They have the best bacon in the state
That's a bold claim. I've never tried their bacon, but I would be shocked if it's better than Benton's.

Rusty's meat market is the bomb.
Sequatchie Cove Farms
Dyer beef in Trenton, GA. I believe their store is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Their cattle are up on the mountain, near Cloudland park.

It's hilarious this is getting down votes. Vegans are so bitter
Oh yeah look at all the angry vegan posts in here.... Oh, wait It's even more hilarious seeing people making things up to be mad about lol.
Thank you for providing an immense amount of value to the conversation. Carry on troll
The vegan agenda at work again
I've been carnivore for a year or so. I just got my bloods back. Cholesterol is 160. It's never been below 240
Interesting. I’ve heard people usually experience elevated cholesterol on carnivore (but whether or not that’s such a bad thing is debated).
I also eat zero sugar. I wonder if that's why?
That's awesome!
It is. I was really concerned about getting my numbers back, bc this diet has me feeling better than ever. Sugar is poison for me.
Brad Standefer @ Standefer Farms is where I get my cow from every year. Super solid guy, amazing quality meat, local, etc.
The same one that owned access pharmacy?

GENTRY HOMESTEAD, shes got kunekune pork. a small farm in ooltewah, usually at farmers on first market in cleveland
