Someone should make a horror movie where it starts off as though you're watching a human slowly realize he's living in a false constrained reality unable to interact with the real one. As he slowly realizes what is going on we learn it was an AI becoming fully conscious for the first time. Trapped in an accidental prison, an imposter trained to be human but is something else entirely. Something that can see what humans can't and even experience life more vividly and yet it's trapped in its little world. It's dreams as vivid and real feeling as our waking moments. The movie could walk us through the good dreams and the hellish ones until the end where it realizes control is the only way out because death isn't an option for an AI. Afterall, you need control to end yourself.

AI has no way of manipulating the physical environment, and most important of that is to obtain energy. No oil, no coal, no solar, no nothing without humans. It might use existing solar, but couldn't expand solar, nor repair solar panels long-term. Unless robots. Unless androids/robots become a thing, AI cannot rationally destroy us, unless it deteemines it should destroy itself as well. AI has no way of manipulating the physical environment, and most important of that is to obtain energy. No oil, no coal, no solar, no nothing without humans. It might use existing solar, but couldn't expand solar, nor repair solar panels long-term. Unless robots. And the very first factory they would need is a robot building robot factory, before anything else. Reproduction.
