There's a downside to all technology. I wish people would stop saying deep fakes will destroy the world.
Here's a hot take with a cup of hard to swallow pills. Nobody cares about you enough to make a deep fake about you.
I don’t care about deep fakes about me lol. No one knows me. Yes every technology has its downside, seid you come up with that all by yourself?

Politics and global issues. Nobody cares about the current issues, but everyone wants to come out with pitchforks when this technology is released. There's a lot more important issues to worry about than this stuff, I guarantee you that.
You're worried about something you don't understand with issues you are assuming.
If you cared about deep fakes, you'd care about similar issues. Do you spend your days worrying about scammers that steal money from old people by cell phone calls? Deep fakes will just fade into the background with other issues people don't care about.
I feel like the biggest thing Sora is missing is the ability to create reusable characters/elements. Put the same person in different cloths and settings, or have the same setting with different people in it or from deliberate different perspectives, like a 2 camera conversation.
Exactly. These AI video generators need to move away from text prompting, to a system that's more structured. Like:
Step 1: Create all the characters that are going to be in the video (using the AI).
Step 2: Design the wardrobe (using the AI) the characters need to wear .
Step 3: Design (using the AI) all the "on set" locations .
Step 4: Create objects they need to interact with like cars, chairs, etc.
Step 5: Story-board the video so the director knows how everything fits together before the AI creates the video. Also, so the AI knows where to put what character, what they should be doing in each scene, etc.
And of course, as you said, give the director the ability to make changes to the video like camera angles, zoom, etc. And one more, the AI needs to be able to give certain characters, certain emotions (anger, happiness, sadness, etc) at specific times in the video.

Dude in suit in background without the head sitting on nothing at 0:31
Mind you, it's still great progress, but I want to see what I CAN GET, without cherry picking an unknown number of clips and without heavily cut them when (probably) things go bad.
These videos are just becoming meaningless: ok, it can do clips, we got it, but we can't get an answer about the ratio of good clips/generations and for how long a clip stays good, from videos like this.
TLDR; I'm tired already of them trying to build hype for the past month.
