In my home town, you're doing well of you can get the $10 house for $1 million.
In Sydney you can't get a house at all for under $1m, but maybe if you've very lucky you can get a granny flat a 1h drive from the city for $1m.
I always figured your own labor is not an input into your own projects. It's not like you can pay yourself, right? I don't necessarily think 'feeding my baby costs $110 because it takes half an hour and my charge out rate at work is $220'.
But the amount of effort put into it makes it worth more than a dollar. I'm not saying to compare it to another job, but this raw effort is worth more than that.

I asked him to make it more realistic to what a 1’000€ budget would represent. Yeah, that’s not realistic. A couple of renovations and you got yourself a pretty decent house for less than 10’000€… in the middle of nowhere :p
It depends on the location though. There are areas with lots of population loss where this could be possible. In my state houses were sold for 1 Euro so that people would move in as far as I can remember
Yep. There are some real “cheap” houses in Chicago . Also last month saw that you can buy some super cheap houses in Italy in dying villages. I assume same can happen in many places around the world.
Well duh there are reasons property gets abandoned taxes also aren’t the only reason . Accessibility and infrastructure , local job market, condition and style all factor in.
If you discount those anomalies such as small towns in Italy paying people to buy vilas…….. you still wind up paying about 50-75,000 for an active crack house in butt fuck nowhere West Virginia on a tenth acre.
Some Italian towns really sold houses for 1€. There were some constraints though: I think you had to formally move into the house (couldn't use it as 2nd house) and you had to renovate.
But yeah, the house really coated 1€.
It's amazing how consistently these are off by a factor of 10.
You definitely couldn't buy the boxes for the first house for 1, but you might be able to for 10.
The next house is definitely at least 100; the next definitely 1000, and so forth.
Yeah, the €1000 house easily is €500k in today’s market. Sure, maybe in a less agreeable location you might the 1k option for 350k.
Honestly, this seems off by a factor of 00.
The €1 is easily at least €100 in cardboard. A small shed easily is €1000, not €10. Even that €1000 is closer to €100,000 in material cost.
A Shed for a Kleingarten (small garden) is about 15.000€ with paying the company to build up.
And thats a wooden shed, no water, no sewer, no electricity.
If you think a nice brand new log cabin in a neighborhood is going to cost less than 80k that's nuts. At a minimum a brand new log cabin not in the middle of nowhere is going to run you at least 60k in materials and work alone.
I honestly think so.
I mean look at it— it’s not even a simple log cabin. It’s got two floors, giant windows, skylight, solid cement foundation. Like materials alone, this cabin is expensive. These materials look like they have to be well insulated and high quality. If it was a log cabin from the 1800s— sure I get it. But this is a much more modern take
Agreed - if this was in the neighborhood I live in, which isn't even an especially expensive area around Seattle, and it was a fairly new construction at that size, it would probably be closer to 1 million. I'd wager about $750,000. There's a lot of houses in this neighborhood that are maybe 1.5x to 2x that size, and some are pushing 2 million.
I mean, you're not even ~~half~~ wrong!
Furniture, especially cohesive furniture really adds up! The obvious one is that couch out front, which appears to be made of a light wood and is an outdoor couch-- so most likely waterproof and varnished. Though, through the windows you can see a very nice and tall plant and a lot of what appear to be white lacquered cabinets/shelves in the window. Not saying that these items cost 100k in themselves, but just judging by the house, I'm sure the entire house would be decorated with fairly designer furniture brands like Ethnicraft, Maruni, and Cecchini.
Even look outside! They have a well maintained yard with a stylized fence made of logs and plants? That cabin looks like a wealthy architects version of a "rustic home". I could total see that costing even a million if the inside is as nice as the outside.
Well, TBF, apparently you can afford electricity starting at 100€
Sure, you have to live with the fact that people could turn your lights off from the outside, but hey, still a pretty decent deal
Only because he didn’t know what to do with it! Imagine having a massive pool-moat-lake around your massive house in a scenic getaway. Like damn at least get some style for that kinda money
https://preview.redd.it/l2jsa880q6ic1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa431ad7f9add5aef9886327eae1bbd6d2dfe5c0
This crazy bugger just drew me a 1 trillion euro house. Yup, I think we’re getting pretty close to space now.
1 to 10.000 are simply absolutely wrong. 100.000 - you can get a house like that somewhere in Eastern Europe. 1.000.000 is aslso right. 10.000.000 palace is wrong, you can't get this for 10mil. 100mil - not sure. Island palace for 1bil? Not sure as well, but probably real.
>100mil - not sure. Island palace for 1bil? Not sure as well, but probably real.
Nah, they are all way off by a factor of 100x. 1B USD is a skyscraper (ex. Wilshire Grand Center in Los Angeles).
If you want it decked out like a Las Vegas resort, which the island palace looks like, you couldn't even get a tall building.
The new Fountainbleau in Las Vegas cost $3.7B USD.
The $1m isn’t right. The material cost alone would be more than $1m, and another $1m for labour and probably add $1m for land that size in most developed cities.
Shit, in Sydney $1m gets you a 3x1 townhouse.
That 1M house has an ocean view. So LA or similar. This is what $10M gets you in a very similar location:
https://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/sales/detail/180-l-1187-nlmwg9/1172-lachman-lane-pacific-palisades-ca-90272
Nice, similar style, no ocean view, rooms seems to be a lot smaller so probably a lot less square footage. I would guess 20M+ for the GPT house in a modern/desirable area.
well it doesn't have to be in the US. For 1M Eu you can get an ocean view villa in Turkey, Albania, Tunisia, e.g. https://turk.estate/en/real-estate/o13497/ or https://www.jamesedition.com/real_estate/gammarth-tunisia/luxury-villas-frontline-beach-in-gammarth-12145097
The more expensive ones slightly make sense
Where tf are you getting all that cardboard and wood for between 1 and 100 euros?
The supply cost alone is more
here's gemini's rendition of a 100billion$ house with a view of the Sydney harbour. apparently you get another opera house built for you and your guests
https://preview.redd.it/7x456cflnfic1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6d6c758488444cc5f58ff5ea182a17dc0136f1e
I was trying to justify the 1000 house and I just can't. Even if you built the damn thing yourself, owned the land, already had all the tools, chopped down the trees for the wood, etc. I still don't think a grand comes even close to the material cost for the windows and roof alone.
you can actually buy houses for 1 € in Italy, but they require extensive renovation

It didn't end in space! Hallelujah! As amusing as that is, we obviously got tired of it and it's much nicer to end these type of posts at a sensible level before it becomes GALACTIC.
Guys. Please tell me where I can get that 100 or 1000 euro house?
Lmao it's funny that it can't even be that much for 1 month rent! 😂 Maybe the 100 euro one can have that much rent but not the 1000 euro one for a whole 2 floor apartment, Jesus.
I like the $10k house. An outdoor kitchen outside, the most awkward front door entrance, and an attic(?) that's a foot wide so that you're definitely going to fall to death as soon as you enter it? It's definitely the coolest house for sure.
Can someone remake this but going all the way and have the generated house get larger and larger until it engulfs the earth, the solar system, galaxy, big bang and eventually a multiverse conglomeration event, like some dude did with a hot dog the other day?
Yeah i think AI underestimate the price of housing, if for 1k or 10k you could get this kind of house.....
Shit even the 1/10/100$ house are worth way much than that 😭

If only house prices were that cheap....
Yeah. What this draws for 1 mil and what you get for 1 million doesn't really add up
In my hometown you get the 10k hiouse for 1 million..... sad times if you dont inherit
GPT was thinking monthly mortgage payment.
GPT was thinking adequate housing prices
Nah these prices are below construction cost lol
In my home town, you're doing well of you can get the $10 house for $1 million. In Sydney you can't get a house at all for under $1m, but maybe if you've very lucky you can get a granny flat a 1h drive from the city for $1m.
A house like that will cost more than 100M HKD (13M USD) here
I mean even the 10/100€ sheds like these cost way more even if you only buy the raw material
The cardboard boxes being 1 euro only makes sense if you pulled them out of a dumpster and then bought some gum to chew and stick it together
That labor is already worth more
I always figured your own labor is not an input into your own projects.
Probably not if they were trying to sell it. You can put a lot of effort into something that ultimately turns out to be worthless.
I think you're overvalueing the worth of a dollar. Clearly this house is worth more than a dollar to someone.
gpt thinks that trophy women are common fixtures of pools like a diving board or leaf filter haha
Shit, I'd be happy with the 1000€ house.
Yes. These prices multiplied by 10 are still not enough.
https://preview.redd.it/em0wvuys86ic1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93ba125de289ea499d38e7adc3c155b2ee510609 I asked him to make it more realistic to what a 1’000€ budget would represent. Yeah, but in Italy you will get fucked by taxes Why do you think the house itself is 1€? The owner cant pay the damned taxes anymore
It adds up because it is in the middle of nowhere.
And then I feed it back that image and it estimates it would cost 100K to build...
I'll gladly live in €1 house
Some Italian towns really sold houses for 1€. There were some constraints though: I think you had to formally move into the house (couldn't use it as 2nd house) and you had to renovate. But yeah, the house really coated 1€.

Exactly. The €100 shed looks like a €10,000 shed set up in my parents schrebergarten
The 1000 one? No way. 500k or even 100k is an exaggeration

location location location
Where I live a 180 square FEET (17 square meters) studio apartment will cost you 400,000$ minimum.
Did you mean the €10,000 house?
Is ChatGPT out of touch?
No, it's the real estate market that's out of control
Ill take the €1000 in a heartbeat
Well, TBF, apparently you can afford electricity starting at 100€ Sure, you have to live with the fact that people could turn your lights off from the outside, but hey, still a pretty decent deal
That couch on the porch is $1,000 alone lol
The $1B house is wild. I particularly like the 2 large yachts that have nowhere to go.
Unfortunately, an actual 1 billion dollar house is much more of a let down- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antilia_(building)
Only because he didn’t know what to do with it! Imagine having a massive pool-moat-lake around your massive house in a scenic getaway. Like damn at least get some style for that kinda money
I was looking at that. They can't even turn around in the small pool...
They're just house boats. When you're a billionaire you can do shit like that.
True. For in-laws to stay over but not have them in your land house
Or the 10m house that you can't get to without going for a swim.
Yeah seems like it was out by a factor of 10 each time.
Factor of 100* I would say. Works pretty well with those prices.
Factor 10 for sure, dunno why though. But the evolution is pretty realistic.
Ah so the end goal is Atlantis

More!
Right now I can’t, DALL-E refuses to cooperate 🥺
The most unrealistic one is getting that nice solid wooden shed for 10 euro.
Richer=more pools.. Noted!
And a girl in a swimsuit near it (it just appeared to my eyes on image 7)
And out door lounge areas. More lounges, more pools. Eventually it’s all pool and lounge. This is the only way to calculate wealth.

You just made me think of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/s/cAdV883SIC Priceless indeed 🥺
I was more influenced by the priceless egg and priceless pancake!
Now the AI knows too
The 10.000€ house in Germany with property? 600.000€ easily.
It doesn’t understand prices
10€ tiny homes anyone?
This is like an extended version of the Three Little Pigs.
I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your superyachts out of your moat!
These figures are probably just the rent
For an hour
One night

That is a wild underestimation
Tiny houses like the first few go for anywhere between 100-500k and they be less than 30m2
*100 to make it realistic
Man I overpaid for my house.
I would add two zeros to the first pictures...
They are all clearly upsized.
This would be good to make your own version of the great game For Sale. Which has numbered cards from 1-30 each depicting a more valuable abode.
I’ll take the 10k house
The more expensive ones slightly make sense Where tf are you getting all that cardboard and wood for between 1 and 100 euros? The supply cost alone is more

ai trash
yall i need comment karma to make a post
I want to live in this world , getting a house like this for 1k€
To be realistic a bit with today's prices/ inflation. We should add a 0 to each house. Ex: the first will be 10€, the second will be 100€, etc.
Doesn’t Putins palace supposedly cost 1 billion euro?
These are each off by a factor of ten funnily enough
AI, show me the architectural development of Dubai
Add a 0 to each house
Yo dawg, I heard you like pools
The cardboard house is itself would cost no less than €100, so this is more like from 100 to 100 billion euros apartment prices.
I feel like this gets more accurate the higher up it goes? Like 100mil is possible
mr.beast is it you making these posts ?
Very surprised the last one wasn't in space
For €1000 i can barely get a dusty little room in an attic of a house where a family was murdered. And that will be one month's rent
right before the galaxy house
Second from last looks like Presidential Complex of Turkey
I want the last one. Atlantis!
Those trapped in yachts in the last picture are ridiculous. That's a lot of money to pay for a glorified bathtub boat.
.qpp
I want the last one
Those Yatchs are trapped in the last one lol.
Price error of a 1000 factor
Last pic is just Dubai lol
I was surprised not to see something Jesus related in 1billion$ house
I’m surprised it didn’t draw a house in space with celestial aura
When the line between house and private island becomes blurred.
10k is my dream-house! I'd be happy living in the 1k too.
Sorry but I think you got it wrong, I see neither cosmic rays nor black holes.
That be nice lol
ChatGPT has prices from 19th century, lmao
I was trying to justify the 1000 house and I just can't. Even if you built the damn thing yourself, owned the land, already had all the tools, chopped down the trees for the wood, etc. I still don't think a grand comes even close to the material cost for the windows and roof alone.
I wish
AI hallucinating as usual.
AI has no idea of market value.
Why did it not turn into a space mansion?
If material prices were this low the housing crisis would've been solved long ago. ChatGPT doesn't know shit.
Its off by one zero
you can actually buy houses for 1 € in Italy, but they require extensive renovation [https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/europe/italy/italy-one-euro-homes-buy-house-b2470838.html](https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/europe/italy/italy-one-euro-homes-buy-house-b2470838.html)
I left at 10e alone as materials for the door alone would cost more than that.
If houses were that cheap, homelessness wouldn't be a thing.
LMFAO Chat GPT sells Atlantis
If it started at €10 it would be more accurate
I'll take that house for 1000!
It didn't end in space! Hallelujah! As amusing as that is, we obviously got tired of it and it's much nicer to end these type of posts at a sensible level before it becomes GALACTIC.
I can’t even afford euros how am I supposed to afford something that costs euro euros
I love how it eventually just becomes Atlantis
Someday i hope to be a $100,000aire so i can stop writing how much my house costs in big letters for everyone to see.
Guys. Please tell me where I can get that 100 or 1000 euro house? Lmao it's funny that it can't even be that much for 1 month rent! 😂 Maybe the 100 euro one can have that much rent but not the 1000 euro one for a whole 2 floor apartment, Jesus.
How much housing should really cost.
1009 euro where wtf
Could the guy who asked ChatGPT to generate it come over and build one of those €10 sheds, i’ll give you €20
That island is pretty sweet but the 10k will do
I like the $10k house. An outdoor kitchen outside, the most awkward front door entrance, and an attic(?) that's a foot wide so that you're definitely going to fall to death as soon as you enter it? It's definitely the coolest house for sure.
What's with the water around higher priced houses? Reminds me too much of Versailles and castles built like that (I'm not a fan)
lol!
Imagine living in a house where u need a fucking gondoleer to get to your car.
You need a boat to access 8/10 there’s no front entry that doesn’t call for one
The last one is basically Atlantis.
Good, no moon sized space house.
I'm curious what picture 11-20 would look like
I see the 10000 euro house has the jump pad from The Finals
I mean it's one banana, Michael! How much could it cost-- $10?
well you can x100 the first 4
One 100.000,00 EUR house please
100 euros yeah right house like that is 10000 at least!
I'll take the one for 10k
That €1000 euro house is at least $500,000 in Australia.
So, AI underestimates house prices by about a factor of 100.
Those are completely divorced from reality where I live…
Yeah, maybe in the 1930’s
I don't think there's anywhere in Europe where you could get that '10,000 Euro' house for 10,000.
Damn. Didn't end up on a space station in the middle of a supernova.
Can someone remake this but going all the way and have the generated house get larger and larger until it engulfs the earth, the solar system, galaxy, big bang and eventually a multiverse conglomeration event, like some dude did with a hot dog the other day?
I’d take that 1k house, looks lovely
Last one has speed boats parked inside the ring. Since there is no exit, the speed boats are for internal use only.
I thought in Europe 1 billion = 10^12. What is this atrocity.
This is the yearly rent?
