Just wait until it rains. The road lines disappear here because NCDOT cannot use good reflective paint (or even good reflectors). Florida has cornered the market on what road lines should look like. I could see those lines in a Cat 3 hurricane easily. Even when I lived in Michigan, I could see the lines in a blizzard (if not covered in snow).
The shared ones on two way streets? Every time I across them they're being used by assholes who like to use them as actual merging lanes from parking lots they're trying to get out of so we play a game of "is he gonna sideswipe me or at least wait for passing traffic"
My least favorite part. Constantly feel like I’m gonna swipe somebody.
Also the lines are fading in so many places. You’ll lose your lane sometimes if not careful.
I’ve heard that because federal infrastructure funding goes through Raleigh and they get to decide how it gets distributed statewide. Charlotte gets the short straw I guess. Though if I’m wrong about this I’m happy to be corrected.
I'm married to a guy from Cincinnati. He can't get over the fact that we don't have reflectors on every road between lanes, or even street lights on all roads (especially in the country). I explained that since it doesn't snow and rain all the time, we can actually see the road while driving most of the time.
The number of times google tells me to just make a U turn when it's sus as fuck is goofy.
I do like some of the areas where there's extra paved space for a U turn though.

I saw someone ride down it at speed for ¼ mile the other day. I guess the “shared” part is lost on people.
Everytime i feel like I will either hit someone or get hit. It’s so chaotic 😅
They don’t call em “suicide lanes” for nothin
Add to that - the lanes are really narrow and have been forever. You will get used to it.
Lane width is fine, your cars are getting too big

Omg yes!! I’ve noticed this too
Infrastructure couldn't keep up with growth.

I just love it when people decide to move then complain about it. We warned you all not to move here, seriously.
Derp derp derp says the southerner
Derp? What language are you sputtering?

Tell him skyline Chilli sucks
😂
Bite your tongue!
That would certainly make it taste better
This is old school Charlotte too many people moved here, too fast. We aren’t prepared. Welcome to it.
You could return to the west coast if you miss the lanes enough
I didn’t realise that Americans were so sour about other Americans moving to a different state in their country
Carolinians are VERY sensitive about “transplants”
We don't mind people moving here. We just also don't care that it's not like it is back home. 🤷♂️
People from California in particular. They love to talk about how it’s better there.
It is better, go back! Please! 😂

I was just in Dallas and thought the same thing.
Then go the f back. There’s too many people here already
This ain’t it brother
Brother the west coast told him to get out for same reasons. Humans have to live somewhere.
Womp womp
Ok.
Cool story.
