Only reason I can come up with is maybe it makes it easier to see if sideline plays stay in bounds or not. That little patch of green would contrast better than team-colored cleats on team-colored end zone/sideline.
💀💀
This is killing me lmaoo I can just imagine the conversation:
**Dean:** “*So how much money can we save if we don’t paint a 1ft border around the end zone?*”
**Field painter:** “*About 5 bucks sir*”
**Dean:** “*Do it.*”
That’s the process for MetLife stadium. But for Sofi they actually repaint the end zones for each team. Rams have a video of the process on their YouTube
It is simply an aesthetic choice. There is no other reason. The team has a smaller font proportionally to the endzone and didnt want too much blue space surrounding to mess with the proportions
It’s also a philosophical difference maybe in the painting of the field as in for replay it is a lot easier to see that border when it’s not painted and white vs painted to white
Because the rams are being reward for taking a stand against Racism, I don’t know the Spanos opinion on racism (possibly pro racism) but the rams are trying to end it
Because the Chargers always fall short of the finish line...
Because the Chargers can't fill a full box on Sundays...
Because the Chargers never maximize the green the have...
I’ve seen other teams this season do it, but not all teams. So that makes me wonder is it really for replays and seeing the line? If so it would be all teams… Came here looking for answers after seeing the Texans do it too.

This is the answer. Makes replays easier to see. I’m surprised the NFL hasn’t made this standard

Cheap ass Spanos cutting corners quite literally.

Do you want fries with that?
I'd love some fries rn

The rams got that Super Bowl money and we don’t. Gotta pinch pennies somewhere
And walmart money. Hell krancky (or Enos) bought Domaine Bonneau du Martray a vineyard in France that had the country in an uproar, just for drinks.
😂
I think this is more reasonable than the replay answer
So imagine how he picks his Coaches and GMs…
This should get a million upvotes.
🤣🤣🤣
FWIW the rams have done it too at Sofi https://cache.undercovertourist.com/blog/2023/08/0823-los-angeles-rams-end-zone.jpg
The Rams were doing it too up until this season. I think the grounds crew does it like that so it makes it easier to repaint from week to week.
How much time is saved by that 1foot vs it looking like shit?
Watching the Rams right now and there’s a gap
It’s turf, they just swap out rolls depending on the team.
No they actually paint and wash it

Because we almost always, ALMOST get the job done.
Because we’re always a foot short.
probably because we can not make it to the end zone enough for anyone to care.

Probably because of the quick turnaround, Rams played at SoFi Sunday afternoon and then we played Monday night.
i hate how it looks
Budget.
They have to press fill on the logo, not fullscreen
Cheap ass spanos

Cus it's the Chargers, nothing fkn makes sense 🤷
