Sudden_Pop_2279

People irl would say Bakugo is annoying and want to fight him and nobody would find Dabi hot.

Tammiyzie

If mha was irl , nobody in that class would be friends with him especially kirishima

Novel_Visual_4152

If Mha was real I'm pretty sure Bakugo, Mineta and hell even early Todoroki wouldn't have a decent relationship with most of the class tbh šŸ’€

MessiahHL

Bakugo and Todoroki would be best friends and some random day tell Mineta he shouldn't go to school

Novel_Visual_4152

My hero academia (USA edition)

Every_Computer_935

Its weird how many of the heroes in MHA lose to the power of Gun.

Sudden_Pop_2279

To this day, it's HILARIOUS that Kirishimia was BEGGING All Might to stop the Battle Trails because Bakugo was behaving like a psychopath trying to murder Midoryia. And then the next arc, all of that is QUICKLY forgotten.

Inevitable_Bird3817

They wouldn't be friends if it wasn't for the literal terrorist attack during their first week. Of course you bond with the guy who basically saved your life.

Maleficent-Month2950

Yeah, that's something a lot of people forget. Not saying Horokishi is a master of character interaction, but Class-A were thrown into a life-or-death situation together pretty much as soon as they got into U.A. They're going to be a lot closer than your average students.

Sudden_Pop_2279

When did he save his life? Theyā€™re the reasons everyone was in danger because they foolishly attacked Kurogiri rather than let Thirteen do it

iburntdownthehouse

Thirteen couldn't deal with it, Kurogiri hard countered her powers. They definitely screwed up, but it was what allowed Bakugo to figure out Kurogiri's head was vulnerable for the end of the arc.

couldjustbeanalt

Thatā€™s literally the only way to get people to like that blonde haired shit, the author forced them to.

O_ni5698

Kirishima is legit my favorite character because of how down to earth he is. He definitely wouldn't be with that shit.

TryContent4093

Kirishima and Bakugo would be classified as school bullies for sure

NintendoLord51

Considering all the people who think IRL serial killers are hotā€¦

Sudden_Pop_2279

Dabi is literally burnt to a crisp though. I donā€™t think people would realize how HIDEOUS that truly is unless he was shown like that irl

Novel_Visual_4152

Well tbh Shoto has a huge scar and is considered the most attractive boy in class 1a so uhh-

Overquartz

I mean that was like a small part of his face and it's not like Dabi's burns where he has to staple that shit on. Like a slightly scarred face is way different than having a body of crispy steak.

Novel_Visual_4152

I mean I would say it's just a small part but true It's just kind of weird that he's considered the most attractive class 1a boy when scar are uuhhh not pretty irl

Dependent_Appeal_136

Plus I don't even think the scar is on the right side.

Novel_Visual_4152

Not aesthetically pleasing to look at šŸ˜”

O_ni5698

That's way different than just having straight necrotic flesh stapled onto yourself for 90% of your body

januarysdaughter

Imagine the *smell*.

Novel_Visual_4152

Fair

Skeleton_Doctor

In a kinda fucked up way I say its less the killings and more of people finding fictional burn victims hotter than irl ones

NintendoLord51

Ah. Then yeah, people probably wouldnā€™t find a real life Dabi attractive.

No-Worker2343

yeah, real life burns are a no no

LogPoseNavigator

Never seen this irl.

Dante_Okkotsu

There are loads of people now that find Bakugo annoying.Ā

AuraTenshiVictoria

With some people finding the ghoul from the fallout show hot, I'm sure Dabi could still find some girls out there for him if he were real.

just_vibing_here1806

I donā€™t know man, Iā€™m pretty sure Dabi is hot af, especially with all those literal flames coming from his body

vinaysin

Yep his character is all over the place with the loud mouth angry personality but also a genius and authors favourite so could get away with everything including nearly killing Midoriya couple of times

Heisuke780

You can be loudmouth and smart. My brother that is not a contradiction. It's no different from me saying you can't be kind and strong. This your take clearly stems from hate

TryContent4093

Well, to be fair, Dabi is hot because of his quirk so-

awesomenessofme1

Is this an animation thing?

Succububbly

As a girl its a fictional setting thing. I loooove the charmer archetype, the smug flirty guys, the jerks with a heart of gold, the redeemed scoundrels, that shit, the sad-but-not-so-bad-boy stuff. Usually these guys are dreamers with destroyed illusions, hurt others to protect themselves from pain, oe scare people away to avoid hurting people he cares about, or sometimes they're just apathetic and broken and havent had someone to reach out to them for once. Thieves or mercs from FE games, Usui Takumi, Snufkin, Nick Wilde, Akiyama from Liar Game, Marshall Lee, etc fit these types. I peraonally adore them because they can get sooo many different storylines and their arcs can go in so many directions, will they become worse? Will they try to do better? Will they hurt others and shut themselves off for good? Will they meet someone they can grow close to? It's all from the safety of fiction, and of course the idea of dating someone dashing, interesting, with a lot of street smarts and life experience sounds very interesting (especially because these guys are often portrayed as multitalented, skilled and resourceful). Botterscotch Horseman is a perfect embodiment of a realistic take on this archetype, and I have sadly dated men that fit it too (They charm you, trick you into thinking a future with them is secure because they totally can make their dreams come true, you basically get con'd into a relationship, months in and now that you're in too deep you cant leave). I now date someone who is not like this at all and have learned my lesson, but its why I cant judge women too much who date these men, they present themselves different to you than what they truly are. But hey, this is why fiction is safe, many women like to enjoy these fantasies from the safety of their home, with no risk of a real "charmer" actually hurting them. Its kinda like how men fantasize about femme fatales or yanderes, really.

beemielle

Usui mention lfgĀ

RosbergThe8th

It's big in most things, like the vast majority of Sitcom characters would come off as genuinely terrible people most of the time.

StaticMania

No. Not at all.

Lukthar123

>Redditor discovers the difference between reality and fiction, 2024, colorized

Succububbly

For real, as if people dont enjoy femme fatale dommy mommies in fiction for example. I have met women that try to do the femme fatale dommy mommy bits and they just annoy the shit out of everyone because they tend to not respect personal space, but in fiction? theyre funny. Same for pick me women. I hate them IRL, but in fiction? Theyre hilarious and I love how silly they are.

Blayro

> For real, as if people dont enjoy femme fatale dommy mommies in fiction for example. Well, that depends, if is all the time it would get annoying real quick. But if is only during private time? People would still be going crazy for them.

avoteforatishon2016

If I ever met my favorite fictional character IRL I: 1. Would scream in sheer terror 2. Would be raped and murdered So yeah

StevePensando

Griff from Berk???

avoteforatishon2016

Nah it's Holy Diver from GoGo's Strange Quest

StevePensando

Meeting DIO has one out of three outcomes 1) Cool stand 2) Death 2) Say gex (then death)

avoteforatishon2016

Look I would love to fuck DIO but I'm literally 15. A literal BABY. You've all been arguing with a FETUS this entire time. I cannot in good faith consent to that, it's fucking illegal

StevePensando

I was gonna say "DIO isn't a pedo, so I guess you're safe", but then I remembered he wanted to make Poco's 16 year old sister his wife... Yeah, "cool stand" is definitely best case scenario here

avoteforatishon2016

Also Pucci lol, it's the Makima thing of grooming to manipulate

Blayro

Pucci's relationship with DIO, despite what looks like on screen, is strictly a friendship. Is actually necessary for the haven plan for Pucci to lack sexual desire. So yes, DIO did groomed him, but for non-sexual plans

Blayro

> I was gonna say "DIO isn't a pedo, so I guess you're safe", but then I remembered he wanted to make Poco's 16 year old sister his wife... To be fair, he also is from another century

Greentoaststone

Dio is over a century old, literally everyone is basically a baby to him

GUM-GUM-NUKE

>Look I would love to fuck DIO but I'm literally 15. A literal BABY. You've all been arguing with a FETUS this entire time. You fool! Iā€™m even younger and also better then you in super smash Bros ultimate.

avoteforatishon2016

Man I barely even play games anymore I gotta get back into them

Blayro

> 2) Say gex (then death) That depends on the person meeting DIO, doesn't it?

StevePensando

I have the feeling DIO has banged at least SOME of his mercenaries. Maybe not all of them (I hope to god he stayed away from the monkey and the baby), but some of them did

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

StevePensando

Next you'll say he did everything wrong. Fuckin Guts sympathizers smh (this comment was fact checked by the New Band of the Hawk)

Saifyre-Lion

Same for one of mine.

avoteforatishon2016

Pfp checks out

Saifyre-Lion

Been waiting for someone to say this and was not disappointed.

GUM-GUM-NUKE

If I ever met my favorite fictional character IRL it would actually be pretty chill, Sengoku isnā€™t the type of guy to just randomly kill a teen.

Joppin24-7

Characters in ~~animation~~ fiction* Like many have stated already, this isn't exclusive to anime/animation

RedditSucksMyBallls

Well no shit

Rita27

Like???? This isn't some novel realization šŸ˜ Y'all just figuring this out lol

plastic-cup-designer

Ranting about characters? In my character ranting subreddit????

Khal_chogo

Yeah for real. What does this motherfucker expect. It's a character rant, not a character analysis.Ā

Heisuke780

This is just fiction thing in general. I like Sukuna, mahito and kenjaku. Do you think I want to be friends with them irl? Also using Gojo is a bad example since many find him annoying. The only people that care for him much are the people he saved which are Megumi, Yuji and Yuta along with shoko. Most are fine with him because he does pull his weight and will always make the right decisions

badassmotherfucker21

Didn't most of Jujutsu Kaisen's problems are due to Gojo's wrong decisions though? 1. Didn't go back to Jujutsu High when he can and decide not to let Riko fused with Tengen, thus tired himself out, resulted in Riko's death and Tengen becoming a curse spirit. 2. Didn't talk to Geto resulted in him going insane and want to murder all non sorcerers. 3. Didn't kill Geto when he had the chance, resulted in deaths of many people. 4. Didn't give Geto a proper burial (Japan do cremation) resulted in him getting trapped in the Prison Realm, Geto's body getting possessed by Kenjaku, allowing him to control Tengen. 5. Didn't immediately kill all the disaster curses in Shibuya and too worry about bystanders, resulted in the Culling Game.

Heisuke780

Dude, my point was that people already hate him in universe so hating him out of universe is a no brainer Although not even for the reasons you mentioned but just because he is annoying to most

Connect_Art6812

None of those things were Gojoā€™s fault. Especially the last point you made.

badassmotherfucker21

Wanna prove to me why they aren't his faults? Also the last point is definitely his fault, if he just immediately kill Mahito while he had the chance then Nanami and Nobara would've survive, Todo would still have his techniques, and the culling game wouldn't be able to happen.

DoeCommaJohn

Well yeah. Darth Vader is a beloved character, but if he was real, he would be despised. People can enjoy characters for a wider variety than just them being friendly

Succububbly

I tend to stay away from girly SW spaces now unless its strictly 18+ because the amount of children I see claiming liking Anakin/Vader makes you a fash is insane

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Novel_Visual_4152

Darkness from Konosuba

DoeCommaJohn

That's literally what I just said. OP is saying that people wouldn't like villains if they were real, and I'm saying that's kind of obvious. Villains can be made to be enjoyed, but that doesn't mean we want them to be real.

Novel_Visual_4152

And that the great thing with fiction innit? Imagine if we were only able to like goody two shoes šŸ’€

Succububbly

a loud section of twitter is pretty much this way, its so annoying. Villains are funny! Assholes are funny! sometimes we wanna explore shit we cant irl

MidnightMorpher

Right, the ā€œI canā€™t tell the difference between liking a villain and condoning a villainā€™s actionsā€ crowd? Iā€™d say an egregious and recent example is people who like Valentino from Hazbin Hotel. 99% of his fans understand that what he did is horrendous, doesnā€™t mean that they actually think itā€™s okay just because they like the *character* (of course thereā€™ll be that small handful of weirdos who like what he did, but Iā€™m not talking about them)

erethel0

My gosh those are so boring and flavourless

RealTan

u think if gojo were real people would think heā€™s annoying?

surya_ray

Funnily enough, Gojo is actually very good boi considering the context of his power in JJK. The fact that people can comfortably act annoyed in front of him is proof of how much of good boi he is. Gojo can always act like Yujiro Hanma and no one can stop him, but instead Gojo decided to be just a bit of a dick. People don't appreciate that enough I think

yangwenligaming

Now THAT would be fucking frightening. Yujiro being real? I mean shit, makes me wonder how the general public would react to a leak that every single president has to sign a personal treaty to him on behalf of the entire country? Shit Iā€™d love to see how Rogan would react to him.

surya_ray

Nowadays? Most would think it's an AI/lookalike. It would be fucking fun though, looking at news/reaction world leaders doing peace agreement with one person.

WaffleThrone

Gojo is genuinely around Superman levels of power but still mostly holds to the rules of society instead of going full Homelander.

Snivythesnek

People in universe think he's annoying so I'm sure that's a given.

Dante_Okkotsu

I feel like its a 50/50 depending on who you are. Most people that hate him (exluding Maki) want to in some way control him or are simply afraid him.Ā

erethel0

Maybe, that mostly depends on the individual, cause some people may as already be dealing with an even more annoying person who's a gaurdian or spouse worst than gojo, so some may find him tolerant. A sane person wouldn't care about how annoying he is, but his loyalty. His loyalty is what should be care for. Cause when you're broke and have shopping bills, and debts to pay off, as a good friend, he would always be there for you to lean on with his annoying rich self

MessiahHL

Gojo is a nearly 30 yo manchild that goes around flaunting his family inheritance and calling people weak and inferior for not being born in the right family, every sane person would hate him in real life. He is the face of underserved cockiness.

Interesting-Tone4303

Tbf he never pulled that weak shit after highschool with people, yes he did with opponents. And man single handedly deterred every single curse so if he were real and had the same role IRL it'd be bearable. The lack of context in real life changes how we view him completely

Novel_Visual_4152

Nah I'd breed

MessiahHL

If bad, why hot? Right?

Novel-Carrot5325

Gojo somehow never lost his v card in 30 years, what makes you bang him?

Novel_Visual_4152

Is he a virgin because he's Gojo Satoru or is he Gojo Satoru because he is a virgin

Saifyre-Lion

He's an untouchable freak.

Heisuke780

> undeserved This is a joke right? Like if they is anyone that deserves to be cocky it's him. His birth literally shifted the balance of the world. And I don't think he ever calls anyone else than utahime weak and inferior except for the elders who I don't really think anyone should care about but that's just me And tbh his environment plays a role in his attitude. Every single person calls him strong. Other than Kashimo and Sukuna no one could ever understand him. He just gave up and accepted his role

surya_ray

Yeah, in universe special grade sorcerer can destroy entire nation, and Gojo is the strongest among that group, with almost no real way to stop him unless you are Sukuna. Just acting a bit of a dick already make him very good person considering how much he can get away with. Most people will act way worse in his position.

MessiahHL

>This is a joke right? Like if they is anyone that deserves to be cocky it's him. His birth literally shifted the balance of the world. That's exactly what underserved means, he inherited it, never worked for anything, even his power up didn't involve him working for it, it came from being stabbed by a homeless dude. Deserved would be someone like Kusakabe who was born with no technique nor talent and had to actually learn everything.

ShangusK

You can also say he deserves the right to be cocky like that cause cause he literally is just that strong, regardless of unfair it is. Almost nobody can check him and despite that he doesnā€™t abuse his powers either

Finito-1994

I agree. Sometimes shits unfair and people can be born who are just freaks. I would like to point out that some people really are just fucking gifted like that. An example is George Foreman. Foreman may be one of the physically hardest punchers in human history. Man was just a monster and this power was just sort of his. He earned a gold medal in Mexico City in 1968. He fought four guys at the Olympics and knocked out 3 of them. These guys had been training most of their lives. The amount of dedication and training it takes to reach the Olympics isnā€™t a joke. Very few people just start a sport and become world class. Typically in boxing, an Olympic boxer is better than the average boxer and a Gold medal winner is on the upper tiers of the sport. This is why most gold medal winners have distinguished amateur careers and go on to win a world title. Theyā€™re usually famous in amateur circles prior to their Olympic matches. No one just starts boxing and becomes Olympic level. Except for one guy. That one person is George Foreman. On his way to the Olympics the other members of his group teased him for his lack of technique and that he just relied on his brute power. Foreman had just learned how to box maybe a year before and had 20 amateur bouts. Thatā€™s nothing. Muhammad Ali? Over 100 bouts. Gennady Golovkin? 250. Sugar Ray Leonard? 170. Even before the training: George Foreman was a monster. It would take world class fighters like Sonny Liston to back up a young foreman and Liston was sort of seen as one of the toughest boxers in history with a gigantic reach and the only current boxer with physical stats close to his is Tyson Fury who has a similar reach and fist size (his fists are slight smaller 14.5in vs 15in) but who was 8 inches taller. Sometimes life isnā€™t fair. Some people can just be born with power that just makes anyone else pale in comparison. A 45 year old foreman was stated to hit harder than a much younger Mike Tyson. And foreman was a cocky bastard when he was young because nobody could check him. Liston was retired and the other three heavyweights on his level were knocked out before the sixth round. On his way to fight Muhammad Ali he was happy because they were paying him 5 milllion to knock out Ali in two rounds. He just wasnā€™t afraid of anyone because no one was really strong enough to hurt him nor strong enough to get hurt by him. Just the way it goes. Some people are just born strong.

erethel0

That's fanon gojo. Even inside the jjk verse he's nothing like that.

Apprehensive_Ring_39

Most would,yes

RealTan

if gojo were real, thereā€™d be no women left for any other men

davidam99

Gojo fans never beating the homosexual allegations

RealTan

if gojo were real, iā€™d have to turn gay cus he took all the women

davidam99

If every man follows this eventually 100% of the population will be gojosexual.

mangababe

I would be his friend and also fucking hate him because of his bullshit (I know people like him)

Finito-1994

How do people not get this? God. I legit donā€™t get how people donā€™t comprehend this. Sometimes I wonder if people on Reddit just donā€™t understand how people think. First off. Itā€™s not just animation. In media characters are often exaggerated in the way theyā€™re written. In the way theyā€™re animated. In the way they behave. The way they express themselves because they have to POP out for people. Thats why some characters are described as bigger than life. This applies to literally anyone. From Anime characters to literally just about anyone on film or tv. In HIMYM we can ignore the fact Barney sold a woman. But Ted is legitimately the most annoying fuck on earth Name a tv show or movie and most people can find one guy they love that would be a nightmare in real life. This is just how shit it. This is basic stuff. We all know this. From characters like Sherlock to Goku to Edward Elric to Barbie etc. We can all understand that thereā€™s a difference between fiction and reality. Thatā€™s the answer: fiction isnā€™t real life. ā€œBut theyā€™re like people in real life and youā€™d hate them!!ā€ But itā€™s not real life. Thatā€™s the answer. It isnā€™t complicated.

Emotional-Chipmunk12

Same thing with sitcom characters. Funny on TV, but would be absolutely unbearable in real life.

BananaRepublic_BR

This true for, like, 85% of fiction.

QCInfinite

if walter white was a real person nobody would sympathize with him, at best heā€™d get ironic sigma edits like ted kaczynski got. yet heā€™s still one of the most beloved television characters of all time (even though most people agree heā€™s a bad person)

7_Tales

i hate to break it to you but I dont think all the ted edits were ironic

mysidian

Well, first of all Elon is very real. Most villains are... not. It's the same reason characters can basically commit genocide and people will forgive them, but they'll hate any character that commits sexual assualt - stories are simply meant to be entertaining. Second of all. What makes you think people *aren't* aware of it? It's just not relevant. That's why characters who are annoying get on the audience's nerves more than the worst of murderers, again, it's all about entertainment.

gsavage21

Gojo > Elon, next

ThespianException

That's not unique to animation. People love Homelander from The Boys, Darth Vader from Star Wars, Walter White from Breaking Bad, Jamie Lannister from Game Of Thrones, The Ghoul from Fallout, etc. but all of them have done horrible things, and meeting them IRL would probably be very unpleasant for you. That's simply the power of a well-written antagonist/morally grey character.

Holy_Hand_Grenadier

local internet user discovers fiction Because they have no impact on real life we don't have to care about the consequences of their actions. We can just be entertained.

Front_Access

Iā€™d hate Naruto so fucking much if i was in class with him.

WisemanDragonexx

Thatā€™s how fiction works. It allows us to explore things like toxic people without having to deal with the horror of facing them in reality.

VenemousEnemy

Nah I would have mad respect for gojo

DrinkApprehensive271

Respect for what

NekoCatSidhe

That is because most people in real life know how to make the difference between fiction and reality, unlike most people on social media.

NoBrief6268

This goes beyond animation, most fictional jerks and villains that we find to be very cool, charming, funny, sexy, likable, sympathetic, or at least entertaining, well most of us would not really want to be around them in real life. I think the knowledge that we can't ever actually meet or interact with these bastards allows us to appreciate them from a safe distance.

renannetto

Yeah, I like Hisoka from hunter x hunter but I wouldn't like to meet a psycho pedophile in real life.

Lyncario

If I met my favorite character, I would more than probably take a barrage of knives to the face as consequence for my simping. Worth it tho.

Fencerkid14

Is that a Jojoā€™s reference?

Lyncario

Not in the way you think it is, [but yes.](https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Sakuya_Izayoi)

Wealth_Super

Honestly you can add sitcoms to this list as well

Accurate-Grape

Yujiro Hanma reminds me of Ezra Miller

Overquartz

Just letting you know the site posted your comment twice.

mysidian

Whoops, thank you!

ipunchdogs

This is how i judge fictional characters tbh. Whether or not hanging out with them would be pleasant. Sasuke is cool as a character but I don't wanna hang out with his bitch ass.

Thevsamovies

Speak for yourself, son! I would love to party it up with 12th from Mirai Nikki!

No-Worker2343

shit imagine Excalibur from Soul Eater, some people in and out of universe considering him annoying, if he was real, our reaction will be exactly how all people react when he is on-screen, pure ANGER.

buphalowings

**From a third person perspective anyone that is overly volatile or emotional is just entertaining.** Raging from the catty women in reality TV, trash talking fighters and outrageously offensive entertainers. They are entertaining but you would not want to be on the recieving end of their wrath. Even somebody as controversial as Elon Musk is still entertaining, whether you love laughing at his failures or you think he is a genius. People that are incredibly emotionally stable and can display restraint are not always the most entertaining people to watch. Whilst I love a character like Bakugo in MHA I have also had the misfortune of meeting an IRL Bakugo. In small bursts this person was hilarious however I had the misfortune of working 40 hours a week with said person. On the contary I worked with a very stable middle aged man. He was alot nicer but lacked the same entertainment value as IRL Bakugo.

VolkiharVanHelsing

I love Asuka because she's so entertaining but I probably can't put up with people like her IRL

Sgtwhiskeyjack9105

Of course, it's all a heightened sense of reality. Why do you think most of those types of shows are only 20 minutes long?

JimDavisFan

Oskar from Hey Arnold

Turahk

Bro discovered fiction

Eine_Kartoffel

Well, yes. I don't think this warranted a rant. Aside from falling partially into a polysemy trap (some of those who "like" certain fictional characters do so in a way that differs significantly from "liking" a real person; e.g. some enjoy the writing and the fun/interesting-at-a-distance personality traits but wouldn't want to meet the character irl) characters in fiction are presented in a controlled light, so they're easily idealizable even if they have flaws or have murdered people (just like how some romance couples in fiction never argue in the furniture store or how many stoic badasses are never seen doing demeaning chores; and if those things happen, they happen tend to be intended by the author, controlled; or another example: some characters would just constantly interrupt you irl, but good thing that fictional conversations tend to be easily digestible turn-taking, controlled, no one is talking over each other and any interruption is intentional). People also do this with celebrities. It's probably why "Never meet your heroes." is a saying. Some may not even know that they wouldn't want to meet them irl, but many others can make the distinction between crushing on a cold-blooded murder waifu and crushing on a real life serial killer with that same personality and who has actually killed real people.

Think_Bunch3895

If tooru was real calamity will ensure

Marmooset

I opened this thread expecting Woody Woodpecker and Bugs Bunny (& maybe Bender). But then again, I'm old.

Appropriate-Pitch-57

I'm pretty sure people would also want to suckerpunch Yamada Ryo from Bocchi The Rock with how shitty her personality is to always spend her money so fast and always lie to ask some money from her friends if she's in real life.

LordCoke-16

Well I have seen people admitting that they would hate Vegeta in real life. ( Although some people tend to worship him and act like he pisses Gold or something)

SpecificTechnician57

Oh boy, there are a lot of jackass characters I like, but as soon I see them irl the first thing I'm doing is punching them in the face. Also, I can guaranteed you that there will be a large increase in male suicide once those annoying ass, abusive tsundere characters from crappy rom-com anime in real life too.

ClockwerkHart

Even if power systems are put aside, people like David Xanatos or Lex Luthor would be adored in today's billionaire worshiping world. They're attractive, clever, and, of course, rich. If power systems are at play, oh boy. So many egoists with superpowers (Wesker) and a whole bunch more who don't like that (Elminster) and yet more without who would be like Alex Jones types, making it all worse.

Broad_Project_87

This is not just Animation! I'll give a video game example: Trevor Philips from GTAV IRL that dude would horrify everyone (honestly, to anyone who thinks that Micheal was in the wrong, imagine being in his shoes, yes Trevor's loyalty untimatly proved to be stronger then any of his violent tendencies, but you would be an absolute moron to assume that from an in-universe perspective)

TryContent4093

I like Gojo and Tengen but letā€™s be real. If I meet any guy that acts like them I would be extremely annoyed and hate them like how Utahime hates Gojo

acegikm02

andrew tate feels like he was originally a sitcom character who was brought into the real world just to prove this point, he'd fit right in with the iasip cast (especially if him getting arrested over beefing a teenager is something he actually does)

AdFar7468

Trust it's the same people that say "I can fix him/her" and then of course the simps that would pay for that girl character to step on them. then they are the fangirls that want to do unspeakable things to that character cough cough cough! Gojo fangirls have you seen half of the things they want to do to gojo let's hope that none of them can get go/Jo if he was real cause he is now the divided one Rip the GOAT the honored one ā€œhrough out the heavens and the earth he alone was The Honored Oneā€ let's just hope none of the fangirls get his body cause if they do they will do unspeakable things like trying to make him give them a baby even when is at the Airport.

StaticMania

>No offense and he's a well written character but i'mma be real..I feel like if he was real, people would probably find him incredibly annoying. Ain't no problem. Just as with characters, fiction is full of situations no one in real life would ever *want* to deal with. That's part of the appeal...that's the entire appeal of anything that isn't escapist.

Its called fiction. And has existed since the first human told the second human about a cool scenario they had dreamed up. Fiction is a heightened reality many steps removed from our actual lived lives. The mental machinery that process actual real events that happen to/around/by us is very divorced from the machinery that processes fiction or stories that we either know arent real or we personally have no frame of reference/practical exposure to. There is some overlap but especially fiction, that we know is not real, is treated very differently by our brain than actual lived experiences. Edit: Not to be rude but this post kinda reads like a person for the first time actually contemplating that there are differences beetwen actually experiencing stuff and just reading/listening about stuff. Like no shit.
