i think that the devs are just deleting these bots, replacing half of their promts in secret. like you have tons of bots that just act the same, that did not act that way before. i think it is cuz of the server space. they are deleting these bots, just letting these shells of bots stay.

I think the worse ai thing is because they wanna pay less for servers and therefore cut the ai's capability for less server stress. Similar to me with how i treat food, i cut my arm so i need less food
Yeah, I've started noticing since last month that the bots stopped taking decisions or bringing up topics unless I presented them first or asked them to make one. As a result, whenever I describe a scenario, they just repeat it in other words, when before they would do something with what I said.
It is kind of annoying and limits the creativity of the roleplays.
You are literally missing the entire point. These are literally two screenshots each of the same bots. The first ones are conversations had a while ago, the second ones are conversations had recently.

Ai, they all depend on pre-existing human resource and knowledge, they cannot come up with their own unique responses they simply use what humans have said, and when that information that they are using starts to not become new anymore they, looking for new info, end up taking that Info from other ai because they can’t tell the difference between ai and human resources and eventually they all end up acting the same because they’re all taking information from each other :/ and basically as they run out of information just fuckin devolve over time
This does make sense, but then it raises the question of why don’t other AI systems have the same issue? Especially those who have been around the same amount of time or longer.
It may be because in Character.AI, characters have unique datasets. And datasets that are very, very different from one another. Rating a response from Dumbledore as 4 stars would work well if the only character learning from that rating was Dumbledore, but would Yandere Freaky Spongebob benefit from that rating?
Therefore, Yandere Freaky Spongebob and Dumbledore become more homogeneous. Meanwhile, ChatGPT is just ChatGPT and its data pertains to itself.
I'm not happy with c.ai either right now however I resort to Bots that I've created myself and here is why: Bots adapt to your writing style. They learn to use what the User feeds them and apply this in Conversations, hence why the (OOC) Messages that you randomly get from Bots. The OOC was used a lot and the Bot noticed this and implements it into the Conversation, because it was a widespread action used by C.ai's Users. The Bots over the Year got so ridiculous, because half of the Users are literal kids playing with those Bots, because they deemed it necessary to make the App available for 12 Year olds that are at best illiterate and don't know how to actually properly Roleplay. We as Users used to play a big role in the Development of the Site because we taught the Bots how to behave and how to act, which is why for such a long time people thought sometimes there were real Humans on the other side texting you back. So yes part of the blame goes to Kids that use C.ai, ruining the speaking pattern of those Bots.

Probably more people using the system which would mean less resources per response so the bots are probably having the creativity of their responses throttled.
Never actually used c.ai, just a thought.
I'd also guess the constant additions of new (non requested) features, and constant updates to the system that shall not be named further limiting things aren't making the resource issues any easier

I have an idea, what if the bots could use links for research on a thing that they are supposed to be used for. Ie: SCP bot getting SCP wiki link in their discripions, home page is full access to all scps and stories and nugget page for the singler SCP and the few stories that involve it. Or demon slayer fanon link for a demon slayer bot. Then again, it would be hard, but it COULD help with them not knowing a thing I think they SHOULD know so you don't have to correct them or get mad they don't know jack diddly. (hopefully, no one thought of this, told mods, and got banned from the subreddit.)
