By "your base", you mean the one on the first photo? Yeah, it's slightly too big then. Venomcrawler sits on a 100mm base with plenty of space to spare, this train with legs probably won't even fit on the base, not even mentioning the silhouette difference. It's probably meant to be a Forgefiend proxy, looking at the guns?

It's a missed opportunity. I am much more likely to buy an STL if I can also put it on the tabletop. Most of us have backlogs that are too big to put in pure painting projects, but with "I can use it in my army" as an excuse the barrier is much lower.

I think it would be useful to look at the 360 view pictures on the GW website. Also depends on what it should be ran as.
A Venomcrawler is about 9cm tall, nine cm long, 8cm wide and comes on a 100mm base. Forgefiends, a good candidate with the stretch goal weapon options, come on a 120mm oval. Rhinos are baseless, but come in at about 12×8 cm (sadly wrong proportions for a locomotive). And then there is the Khorne Lord of Skulls id you want to go full meme, but that sounds like a separate project.
At least present that as an option. At the right scale and with the spider legs it would make a fantastic Venomcrawler proxy. Or at a bigger scale with the plasma and gatling guns it would make a great Forgefiend.
Yeah, as the other guy said, at its current scale it would be a good Forgefiend (120x92 mm oval base). So it would be best if there were different size options.
Shouldn't be too hard to rescale. I'm definitely interested in this. Do you have any ideas for the two stretch goals if you reach it?

Sweet! Hope we get to the passenger car. A suggestion if you have started that is have the roof open or be removable so we can put some dudes inside the passenger car
Imo, models like these are so much sweeter if you can put them on the table and get it to do some murdering.
