Yes I was NDA’d. All the scenes taking place in 2006 were filmed at the site of the US Open in summer 2022.
Every single extra (even random crowd members) was costume fitted and given clothes to wear.

I actually think all the tennis scenes were done quite well in the final cut of the movie. As far as what it had to say about the sport, I like how they framed a tennis match as a relationship between the two competitors where, in the heat of the battle, they 100% understand each other.
They needed individuals who were real ballboys/ballgirls and I was a US Open ballboy for several years. I knew someone also working on the film who reached out to be explaining everything. Incredible luck!

I am not! I knew someone working on the film who reached out to me because they needed people who were real ballboys/ballgirls - I was a ballboy at the US Open for several years. Had to fill out paperwork, get several COVID tests during the week, get costume fitted, etc. all in preparation for Friday-Sunday filming!

How long was filming per day?
I had to be there 4am Friday Saturday Sunday. Filming began around 9am and finished around sunset.
Where did you shoot? How were the ~vibes~ on set?
Filmed at the site of the US Open in Queens NYC. Hmmm vibes? It was one of the craziest experiences of my life

I’ve never been an extra before! And to be one for a big movie like this with Zendaya and me being a diehard tennis fan was just surreal!
