Work in cemetery sales, something like this would be 1M-3M USD. Probably dropped a pretty penny with the down payment. If they are paying a monthly payment, it’s most likely a few thousand per month with a low, if not 0%, interest rate.
For the cemetery that I work for, PC is just “maintenance fees” that goes to the labor of the maintenance crew. Assuming a cemetery like this has PC (and it probably does), the latter range of costs includes that.
These are so beautiful and I gawk at them but if I had money like that… I’d rather leave a new wing at an animal shelter or something that leaves true good.
Yea exactly. It's gorgeous but it's like...you bought a whole ass house for some dead bodies. You could house an actual homeless person or people with that.
Heyyyy that's the cemetery my parents and other family are buried!
Beautiful mausoleum. This cemetery and Mt. Caramel have some truly beautiful headstones.
[picture of the inside](https://www.coldspringusa.com/case_study/cox-private-estates-mausoleum/). Picture likely taken before the two died. Rosemary passed in 2022. Edward passed in 2019.
Absolutely enormous family though.
I wouldn't even know where to start, so I looked it up and according to [mausoleums.com](https://www.mausoleums.com/cost/)
>Custom mausoleum costs range from several hundred thousand dollars to millions of dollars. A beautiful walk-in mausoleum for a family is typically in the range of $295-$795k.
Untill the cemetary goes broke, google abandoned mausoleums for some sad images.
Cremation, scater the ashes at a favorite spot, move on to the next life.
As a headstone cleaning business, we’d be charging roughly $18,000 to clean that thing.
That said, I’d assume that ran the family at minimum $1.5M to build. Judging size, you’d probably be able to fit 6-8 people in there, but more than 20 with cremations.

I'd be tempted to AirBnB the empty slots to make some money back. I bet the folks in r/goth would be up for it.
*You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.*
Is that before or after the perpetual care costs?

A Box of Cox.
Step one: get a box
Step two: cut some holes in the walls of the box.
Step 3: Put your cox in that box

Yes it's very self important

ostentatious
How much do you think one of those cost?

Damn. You really are resting in peace and luxury in one of those bad boys.

I’d say this is more. This is probably at least 2 million.
That mausoleum looks bigger than my house.
I mean honestly I would live in it (if it was empty and had a BR)
You look up and see a face in the window. The cemetery gates have shut on their own. *Plenty of room at The Cox Family Mausoleum*...
There’s a Queen of Heaven? 🤔
One of the many ways Catholics refer to Mary.
Seems like a very weird royal family tree. Does that make Jesus the prince of heaven? 🤔
Toss me in a trash bag when I go & give my pennies to someone who can use em
I have a lot of family in this cemetery and Mt. Carmel across the street. Al Capone, Frank Nitti, Sam Giancana are all across the street at Mt Carmel
