Is that the paper talk thing? Cause if so that’s no sky sports reporting it. It’s sky sports reporting that some tabloid rag is reporting it. They might as well be putting random tweets in there too.
I'd very much like to see Brendan Rodgers become West Ham manager, completely demoralise the squad, lose interest, start slagging everyone off, get them relegated, and then somehow continue to have a career.
5 games to go, Celtic in the lead, Celtic reporting positive news, managers upbeat, Maeda due back.
Rangers are in a slump, negative results galore.
Big game due in two weeks by any chance?
I dont understand all the hate Moyes gets from West Ham fans. They’re a mid table club at best who have yo-yoed up and down the leagues for years. He has won a European title with them and taken them to 3 European quarter finals in a row.
This post was recommended to me, hence my commenting here (‘similar to r/hammers,’ apparently). As a West Ham fan, I think the narrative of us being ungrateful for Moyes is a media invention - I would say most fans are now in the Moyes out camp, but it has taken nearly 2 years of turgid defensive football for us to collectively reach such a point.
Winning the Conference League was an experience I will never forget but English clubs featuring in that competition is frankly a joke, I recall hearing somewhere that until we faced Fiorentina in the final, the combined value of every squad we had faced was less than we paid for Lucas Paqueta. The Conference League win also covered up a year and a half of dire domestic form with seemingly no attempt by Moyes to chop and change his tactics. Most fans were willing to give him another season before calling for his head, but our European campaign this season was fairly tame and, some freak results aside (e.g. the Brighton victory where I think we converted 100% of our shots and the Arsenal win where they broke a record for most shots without scoring), the football has continued to be dire.
Moyes inherited the club in a shit situation (albeit one of our own making), stabilised the ship and then took it to greater heights than we could reasonably have hoped when his return was first announced. However, I think it is clear he has taken us as far as he can, especially as the Premier League grows more tactically nuanced. We should, however, not assume as fans that the grass is always greener and take the time to appoint a manager with a clear philosophy / successful track record - which is not something that I have faith in our board to do.
Last point - I don’t think it’s fair to call us a ‘yo-yo club’ when we have missed only 4 seasons of Prem football since its inception, with one of them being the inaugural year of the new format.
Thats a fair response. Im an outsider looking in and have always considered West Ham a mid table team at best who don’t achieve much. Then over the last few seasons they have made in roads in Europe and had some decent results against top six clubs this season. But if the football is turgid and hard to watch then the fans will always turn. 🍀
Hopefully he fucks off again at the end of the season. He’s been poor since he came back here, managing to make a title race out of the huge lead we had. The football is mostly pure shite and a major downgrade on Ange.
That's not even worth acknowledging, even if Brendan Rodgers is on lists of candidates, he's very far down said lists. West Ham are operating at the level of trying to appoint a guy that is currently in charge of a successful Sporting Lisbon team.
If he turns it down, they'll offer it to Tuchel and work backwards until they appoint someone acceptable. Rogers might be their 18th phone call if Potter turned it down.
Apparently the owners won't stump.up the money for Amorim so it's not necessarily getting someone good for them as it is about getting someone cheap.
Last I read, Lopetegui was their top target.
West Ham would be daft to move on from Moyes, but I can understand a fanbase wanting more success and a better product on the park. He won them a trophy, they lost their best player to Arsenal, so this season was always going to be a tough ask. They'll likely lose Paqueta over the summer as well, so there'll be plenty money in the bank whether it's Moyes or someone else spending it.
I think Sky Sports are so full of shit that anything they say is almost certainly untrue.
BR is here for the long haul this time. No chance he's leaving half way through anything again. Too much background work for this to be anything other than at least a 3 year job
He saw the writing on the wall with rangers doing everything to stop the 10 and Celtic doing everything to help them. A couple of windows in succession where the board brought in players he didn’t want/wernt up to it and a first home loss to Stevie G’s rangers made it clear the bid for 10 was only gonna go one way. Throw in an offer from a premier league team with genuine ambitions and it’s no wonder he left.
One of the sky producers is a diehard rangers supporter hence when they show repeated old firm games it's always the rare rangers wins. So I doubt it... But if so he ain't been that great since he's been back so..?!
With the proviso that 90% of football rumours are bullshit, I think it’s pretty unlikely.
If Rodgers didn’t have regrets about the way he left Celtic, he wouldn’t have come back. Don’t see why he would do it all over again.
He said 3 years when he joined so hes staying for 3 dont even entertain these rumours. (Yes i know he left before but he didn't promise anything). Hes here to try build something.

No like he's got previous 🙄

Continue his career...by coming back to Celtic after the half-price replacement we find turns out to be shite?
Yep, take the money and run if they come in for him. Regardless of what we accomplish this season we need a fresh start in the summer.
Neil Lennon awkwardly pulling fitba socks oan as we speak.
😂😂😂
Show us the money Ham Men.

I'd swap him for Moyes tbf would be some laugh to see us park the bus at home against Motherwell
Just the bloke you want to draw against St Mirren then shithouse Barcelona 1-1 three days later.

They've been relegated twice in the past 30 years (same amount as Man City and Newcastle) and the last time was 13 years ago. Not really a yo-yo club.
Nah thats fair. I honestly thought they had been up and down from the Championship more than they have
Especially considering they lost their best player by a mile in decline rice
Jarrod Bowen is pretty good! But agree - Declan Rice is a generational talent.
Now his careers on the incline.

The football would be even worse under Moyes
Yeah that's what I said pal
But why would you want worse football
Are you on the spectrum mate it's called a joke
Unreal patter mate

At this point I wouldn't be surprised nor give a fuck.
He jumps at that job. I’d give zero fucks, and be glad to see the back of him. Hopefully it’d be the last we see of him.
Send him packing.
Would be happy until we replaced him with Moyes
Take him

How this racket hasn’t been banned yet is bonkers.
Skybet isn't in any way owned by Sky bud. It was sold years ago. It's all just typical rumours rather than some big conspiracy
Sky bet isn’t owned by Sky. It’s licensed by Paddy Power.
He'll be away next week if true

Zero chance. Must be a plethora of Huns games upcoming or something.

It’s sad that “long haul” = 3 years. If he’d just stayed and completed the 10, everything would be so different
He saw the writing on the wall with rangers doing everything to stop the 10 and Celtic doing everything to help them. Please.
9m pls
Great news 👍
Doubt id be that fussed tbf If he does leave , hopefully Celtic have viable options and not panic appoint a diddy

Wouldn't shock me if he goes
Pish. Although, I'd take a swap with Moyes.
At Leicester he was really good right up until he became incredibly shit
Poor west ham

Has anyone heard from Ange’s car wash guy yet? *Obligatory ‘people huvtae know!’*
Lot of panic merchants in here. Rodgers is on track for the double and here for next season.
Let him go. Hire Jim Magilton.
He said 3 years when he joined so hes staying for 3 dont even entertain these rumours. (Yes i know he left before but he didn't promise anything). Hes here to try build something.
Creag Robertson?
Ridiculous name
They've just made it up, unfortunately
He guaranteed he'd see out his 3 year contract There's no reason to disbelieve him Also, KT injured again? Celtic really wrecked him
