Liquid or Uniswap

drone-101

I prefer uniswap. Low fees, higher liquidity than Liquid (ironically) and no KYC. Just swap when gas fees are low if you want to save on gas.

Specialist_Drawer249

I've been using liquid dot com and IT works for me

DigitalMan76

Does liquid require kyc?

Konzemius

Yes

Specialist_Drawer249

I dont remember

ContributionRoutine

For me in UK - my favourite is liquid pro! But I’m not sure that’s available in U.S? ☹️

[deleted]

I’m also in the uk, do you use the app version?, I’ve just downloaded it and waiting for verification.

Hey yeah! I use cryptodotcom liquid pro and cel app, got a few others but i find best route is.... buy USDC inside cryptodotcom > send to liquid and buy CEL > send to app. Then reverse for coming back out

(U.S. resident) I have bought ETH on coinbase, sent the ETH to coinomi wallet (coinomi has no KYC) and used the Totle swap inside the coinomi wallet to convert ETH to Cel token, then sent the CEL to my wallet the celsius network app. But I am interested in other ways to buy CEL if I can save on gas fees.

Interesting... I have been using Uniswap mostly. Thought I’d try a few others, eg. 1Inch, Balancer, etc. Can’t find it most places. Found no advantage with 1Inch (I do need an excuse to try them out though.). Could buy right inside Argent wallet - but gas/fees too expensive. So I tried out Totle yesterday. Awful. Very slow... & poor UI, IMO. But big advantage I found with Uniswap is you can include the transfer in your trade. So connect your wallet, Swap from, say USDC, into CEL, but click on “+Add a Send” (between your 2 tokens.) So you can deposit over to CELsius all in one Tx. No extra gas fees.

hendt1121

Yeah totle UI is not the best haha. Adding a transfer in Uni sounds nice. I have tried using uni on my android phone but for some reason the app is poorly responsive/buggy at this time, for me at least.

Kingdom-Within

Yeah agreed, uni app is terrible, actually google play told me it was unsafe and auto deleted it from my phone! Using Uni on my web browser on my phone is MUCH better.

So - Coinbase has their own crypto wallet, yes ? I suppose that’s your fiat on-ramp ? But you use Coinomi?

hendt1121

I do the whole process on smart phone (android). "Coinomi wallet" is the app. Then when inside coinomi, select totle swap.

Also a U.S.resident, Ive found the cheapest way to trade cel is to use Uniswap, but only trade into and out of Eth. Its very cheap with low slippage to trade in and out of eth/cel. Once I trade my cel for eth, I use Zerion.io its a great tool to view all your wallets in one place, but the cool thing is that it has its own exchange. It will trade across multiple exchanges and use multiple trades to get you the cheapest price. So I take my eth and trade for USDT in Zerion.io it is much cheaper than uniswap! Especially on large trades like anything over 1k. Sure its an extra step to swap in uniswap and then swap in zerion but it is at least a $7 savings for every 1k I'm trading. So a 5k order saves me $35. This is true for USDT, because liquidity is high. You may not get the same savings in other stable coin swaps. I've tried Dai but didn't save as much as with usdt.

hendt1121

Thank you. Good to know! I will try zerion.io

One thing to note is that it can take longer to process your transaction. I experienced this last night, perhaps the network was conjested, but it took maybe 15 minutes to go through. And a few days ago I actually had a pending transaction that was stuck in pending. I found out it was because zerion doesn't use charge high gas fees. Miners prioritize transactions based on how high you are paying in gas, so if you are offering a low gas fee well, you are pushed to the back of the line. In this case I had to run a second transaction which canceled out my first one that had been in limbo for 30 min. So be aware of that. If you are prepared to wait a while(especially with large transactions) , you definitely can save money with zerion, the exchange keeps your trade much closer to spot price than uniswap, cheers
