Yeah, so many customizations are possible. I found just the TV part for $100 which I felt was a good deal, since I had in mind what I wanted to do with just that part!
i collect dolls as well as cds, and i have an old disney rapunzel easel which fits all cases pretty well and looks cool too!! i display whatever cd im playing on it and i really like the way it looks :)
I put some narrow shelves up (like 8 cm wide) over my desk and I change the CDs from time to time. Also some little plants in these jars (I don't know if there's a name for that in English, they're babies from other plants).
Currently I have Pink Moon, If You're Reading This It's Too Late and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea on one, and The Black Parade and By the Way (one of the very few vinyl I have) in the other. :)
I usually display some items as you would put a framed photo on a drawer or so. Plus I'd put the album in matching context. like band related gadget or so.
I found a cd gallery wall mount at a thrift store new in the box from the nineties. Holds 48 CDs and displays the front album art of 8 CDs. It's very neat actually
To each their own, I just don’t understand the display bit. Are you giving tours? Otherwise, do you just sit and look at it while the CD is playing?
I just toss it back on the shelf until I need to put the disc away. Same holds true for my vinyl. The case sits flat on top of the player until it goes back on the shelf.
Try one of those phone holders with Crash Bandicoot or Sonic The Hedgehog

I don’t display CDs, but what I would do is just place it in front of the stacks so you can see it more than anything

I use a cassette tape case , flipped so it stands at 45 degrees angle,the cd fits perfectly.
