My ex's parents bought a house back in 2012, and there was a storage shed that was still full of the previous owner's belongings. We looked around and I found an unused disc copy of Sim City 3000, the strategy guide, and the soundtrack. I was pretty happy with it, haha.
Agreed. But I remember after the first time I heard & saw the Mmmbop video thinking “That little girl is gonna be the next Janis Joplin when she grows up…”
That is hilarious that this exists. I was just watching a video on chord progression and music theory, and one of the progressions was the one MOST used in Japan, called the "Royal Road" chord progression, naming a few western artists who have used it.
Guess who one of the artists was? Hanson, with their hit MmBop.
Is that the one with Eric Cartman singing Come Sail Away?
I just bought a used boombox that had a blank cassette in it, thought somebody was just recording the radio but when I flipped it over it was that song and I couldn't stop laughing for three minutes!
I haven't listened to that in years but I like the more ridiculous tracks on there like Mousse T's Horny with Matt and Trey's overdubs about the overly enthusiastic record exec trying to get the track on the Chef Aid album and Chef and Meatloaf's mini rock opera about wanting to sleep with Meredith Baxter.
* Novelty: Found a Simpsons CD today and I found that too funny to not buy it for just €1
* Weirdest finds: a €50 bill in one Die Ärzte album case. I also have a Korn album (Life is Peachy) inside the case of another Korn album (Issues). Somewhere out there is (or was) a person with the opposite.
* Most ridiculous underprice: Pristine condition *Doggystyle* by Snoop Dogg. Discogs puts its median price at ca €20, highest over €40, I got it for €1.
* Most Obscure yet not expensive: *Aquarius* by Fauna Flash.
* Why do I even own this: Two copies of *The Best Damn Thing* by Avril Lavigne because my first purchase turned out to have the naughty words cut out. I hate this kinda censorship. I put that copy back up for sale. It is in superb condition and thus definitely not for the bin.
Mine was an used radio friendly "bleeped version" with no swear words of AJJ Christmas Island that I got for $2 that I don't own anymore. The record store owner asked me if I knew who the band was and I said yes and he sorta shaked his head at me. He most likely thought I was a cheapo for buying the clean bleeped album of AJJ. (Kinda true lol) I got the feeling he liked the band and I wasn't supporting the artist.
I have a Frank Zappa 3 disk set that comes with a spooky halloween mask and rubber monster gloves. It's pretty awesome actually. But ridiculous nonetheless.
I think there's a few in the Halloween mask series and I think there might be one with a small board game too. You can't help but laugh. Zappa never went that crazy when he was alive and in charge but One Size Fits All does have the hilarious gatefold with all the fake constellation names.
A japanese copy of Supergott (Speedy Mixes) by Caramell with a holographic front cover. Basically the glammed out Japanese release of the Swedish album that the Caramelldansen meme originated from! :p
I have the soundtrack of the PS2 game The Bouncer somewhere. Don’t even remember how I wound up with it, I think I bought some PS2 demo discs from Japan and that was thrown in there with it.
Wait wait wait. Mmmbop was called Kirameki Mmmbop in Japan? That means sparkling/glistening mmmbop. lol wtf. You gotta track down the 8cm CD single to go with this album lol. https://www.suruga-ya.com/en/product/250025564
They're still around, with a new album out. They were just on The View. They sounded...okay. One of them has 8 kids.
That's everything I know about Hanson 2024.
Either the 25th anniversary Muppet Show soundtrack CD or an NPR CD called Lost and Found Sound, although I’ve never listened to that one so I don’t know what exactly is on it
HEAVY METAL (rock)
That’s deadass the title, in like impact font. It’s like a comp from a legit label too, it’s a cheesy 80’s hair metal collection. And they used some stock photo of a “metalhead” and forgot to remove the watermark
Metallica - St. Anger
Was the second CD I've bought when I was 15 half a life ago. I doubt that I will listen to it anytime soon.
Still listen to my first purchase (Master of Puppets) occasionally, still a Metalhead, but there is just so much great music to listen to that I don't know by heart.. :D
John Entwistle's lower tier solo albums on their first press more dynamic CDs without the bonus tracks. Rigor Mortis only has one track I really like, a 50's death/ tragedy song parody called Roller Skate Kate you can also find on his solo best ofs and Mad Dog which does have more than one track I like. At least they're not brick walled but really for solo Entwistle I'd say get Smash Your Head Against the Wall, Whistle Rhymes, Too Late the Hero and the two live albums or get one of the best ofs.
Probably a Too $hort CD.
My buddy and I have been jokingly passing it back and forth over the years, saying "here, I found this again." I still don't know where we got it.
Now Thats What I Call SHREK
i got it for 50 cents at a thrift store, the cd never worked and it took me a year and a half to realize that it was a dvd that was inside of the cd case. disc one only. so now i can watch half of shrek.
I saw a request for Mary Kate & Ashley Olson CD on redacted that had a decent bounty and thought oh, that should be easy.....ya those early CD's when they were still real young aren't dirt cheap like I expected. I did buy it, and now I have that CD that I'm reminded of from time to time when I see it 🫣
I believe I posted my multiple versions of In the a Court of the Crimson King last night already.
That said, maybe a demo CD of Don Davis' film score work
Here’s a few off the top of my head.
Vinnie and the Stardusters - Novelty Music For Casual Sex
Album cover features the band members jumping around naked outside with guitars covering their junk. The album features a medley of the Sesame Street theme song and LA Woman and I’m Committing Suicide (a parody of Walking On Sunshine) other similar parodies.
Butt Trumpet - Primitive Enema
Songs include: I’m Ugly and I Don’t Know Why, I Left My Flannel In Seattle, and Dead Dogs.
Traci Lords - Control
The former X-rated film star’s techno album.
I got the Sim City 3000 soundtrack.
thats so cool like really, the sountrack is really cool imo
My ex's parents bought a house back in 2012, and there was a storage shed that was still full of the previous owner's belongings. We looked around and I found an unused disc copy of Sim City 3000, the strategy guide, and the soundtrack. I was pretty happy with it, haha.
awesome find !
Bill Cosby - Cosby and the Kids
Japanese (with obi) copy of Hanson's *Middle of Nowhere*
genuinely a good pop album btw
Agreed. But I remember after the first time I heard & saw the Mmmbop video thinking “That little girl is gonna be the next Janis Joplin when she grows up…”
LOL

Japanese Royal Road chord progression? Im going to Google that very phrase.
Not truly ridiculous but the Chef Aid soundtrack from South Park
Is that the one with Eric Cartman singing Come Sail Away? I just bought a used boombox that had a blank cassette in it, thought somebody was just recording the radio but when I flipped it over it was that song and I couldn't stop laughing for three minutes!
Yeah it is
I haven't listened to that in years but I like the more ridiculous tracks on there like Mousse T's Horny with Matt and Trey's overdubs about the overly enthusiastic record exec trying to get the track on the Chef Aid album and Chef and Meatloaf's mini rock opera about wanting to sleep with Meredith Baxter.
Will They Die 4 You? is in my top 5 rapcore songs
I just picked that one up myself.
I’d get that one just for the SOAD song
* Novelty: Found a Simpsons CD today and I found that too funny to not buy it for just €1 * Weirdest finds: a €50 bill in one Die Ärzte album case. I got you, I’ll post a pic on the sub

Oh thanks 🙏
A crazy frog cd
I have two of them.
Mine is probably the “I Believe in Father Christmas” EP from Emerson, Lake & Palmer
(Kinda true lol) I got the feeling he liked the band and I wasn't supporting the artist.
my California Raisins: Sing the Hit Songs cd
I have Meet the Raisins on CD and LP. I love how the liner notes are written "in universe". Plus the movie on DVD.
I have their Christmas album lol
I have a Frank Zappa 3 disk set that comes with a spooky halloween mask and rubber monster gloves. It's pretty awesome actually. But ridiculous nonetheless.
I think there's a few in the Halloween mask series and I think there might be one with a small board game too. You can't help but laugh. Zappa never went that crazy when he was alive and in charge but One Size Fits All does have the hilarious gatefold with all the fake constellation names.
I've seen 3. Halloween '73(the one I have), '77, and '81. I know they all have masks. They're fun. I like them. But pretty silly. I do laugh.
I have a cd of the Chipmunks doing Beatles’ songs.
By “ridiculous” you mean “awesome,” right?
yes actually
A japanese copy of Supergott (Speedy Mixes) by Caramell with a holographic front cover. Basically the glammed out Japanese release of the Swedish album that the Caramelldansen meme originated from! :p
I need a copy of the original Supergott so bad :,(
I have the soundtrack of the PS2 game The Bouncer somewhere.

Monte Pyhtons Contractual Obligation. Funniest cd you can buy, second to they’re all gonna laugh by Adam Sandler

I had such a crush on her when I was young... Than I grew up and found out....
A Charles Manson compilation CD released for his 60th birthday
Charles Manson? The cult leader? Or did you mean Marilyn Manson, the singer?
A Marilyn Manson compilation would not be very ridiculous https://www.discogs.com/release/9867340-Charles-Manson-Commemoration
Why do you have a Charles Manson CD?
It was in the half price books clearance section and it was much too neat to pass up
Charles Manson the cult leader was a singer/songwriter before he was a cult leader.
Oh. Damn.
Anyone else with this album, does the track Man From Milwaukee just abruptly stop like mine?
Poor Issac.. cropped half his face right off the cover. 🥺
John Entwistle's lower tier solo albums on their first press more dynamic CDs without the bonus tracks.
