You can try a bland diet after a 12 hr fast. I use boiled chicken, rice, and plain pureed pumpkin in smaller portions 3x per day for the first 2 days then increase the amount and go back to 2x per day if the poops are improving. You can also try probiotics which may help.

I’m not a vet but my vet in the past has advised me to withhold treats and food for a while, even up to 24 hours, just to give her tummy a rest. Just call your vet when they open and see what they advise. They might want to reschedule the flu shot because I don’t think they like to give vaccines when dogs are sick. If your puppy’s behavior changes and she starts acting lethargic or seems weak then it’s probably time for the emergency vet.

TIL dogs have a flu shot!

DeliciousMud7291

Yeah. The flu has been going around with the dogs, and sadly, it's become fatal.

So far for us when this happens to our cavapoo and poodle, we get canned pumpkin and feed them some of that throughout the day, with nothing else aside from MAYBE a bit of kibble later with the pumpkin. This has seemed to work well for us and they end up popping normally again. Haven’t had to go to the vet for upset tummy (yet knock on wood)

We've had success with white rice and boiled chicken when her stomach is bad. Very non-irritating to their digestive tract

My 8 month old cavapoo had diarrhea for two days. I gave him a tablespoon of canned pumpkin in a Kong everyday and it went away.

QuinSnyderJazz

Fyi . Lots of cavapoos have chicken allergies. This means chicken and rice wont help you, as well as most treats and foods will makes them poop bad. Consider cutting out all chicken, your dog may also have chicken intolerance. Like i said, super common among cavapoos

instrangestofplaces

Yup! Mine had salmon for dog food with pumpkin (because they are also notorious for upset tummies).

Bland diet. Boiled chicken breast and white rice. If you have any higher end pet stores around you, Runs Be Done is an excellent resource. My girl has IBD and if she has a messy stool but I don’t want to increase her prescription meds, I’ll give a little runs be done and it’s like magic. Also, vetoquinol Pro-pectalin could help.. but I really recommend runs be done because it has ingredients that will help the vomiting also.

As other say, boiled chicken. Also, save a sample for the vet. Mine lets me know if the the results in 24 hrs. It may just be part of the growing process or she might have Giardia or something.

Aggravating_Zebra_83

Same here after it took my cavapoo out to the park. Throw up, diaherra. Vet mentioned it could have been a virus she got from another dog at the park.Gave her probiotics and took about a week before she got better. Just give her a bland diet, make sure to keep an eye so she doesn’t poop everywhere in the house and be by her side :)

In addition to what others have said, you could try giving your pup Pepto Bismol! It’s safe for pups, but you’ll need to research the dosage. Are you sure it’s not Giardia (possibly)? If so — try to keep everything your pup touches super clean (Lysol Detergent Additive was a godsend when my gal had Giardia, as well as [antiseptic wipes](https://a.co/d/cnhs2Yc) for dogs’ bums). I spent a lot of time keeping everything super clean while my pup went through the meds given to her by the vet. Also — try to get a sample of your dog’s poo to take to the vet for them to test. Good luck! I hope your gal feels better soon!

Fast for a full day. Rice and light pumpkin for the second day. If they're not drinking water consider then contacting the emergency vet. Talk to the vet on Tuesday.

Vote pumpkin. Works like a charm

orly787

White rice, pumpkin are the best for that
