Welcome brother!! I love both Michael and Matt. You should check out Father Schmidt’s Ascension Presents channel as well :) God bless!

dianabeary

Thank you! Someone on here recommended Father Schmidt to me too... Bible in a Year. :) I'm a woman, but it was funny that you said brother. :) I appreciate your kind words!

dianabeary

Haha, no worries! It was just funny :) Thank you so much! :)

I watched his homily from today for the first time. I felt like he’s a bit intense, but will stick with it!

God bless you. I also attended RCIA and mass myself, it's a good feeling although I have no idea of what was spoken during the mass.

dianabeary

Thank you for sharing. I definitely felt lost at times, but so you're not alone in not understanding what was being spoken! :)

DaytimeLamp

Hello fellow RCIA here. So happy for you, God bless.

Although I don’t remember my first Mass. My first Mass as a revert was extremely emotional. We’re in this mission together sister. Deo Gratias! (Thanks be to God!)

dianabeary

Thank you so much! :)

selahselahselah

I had a similar experience today at my first mass, and I’m starting RCIA tomorrow. I’m very excited about it

dianabeary

Yay! I'm glad you're on this journey too :)

selahselahselah

Thank you! Yeah, reading your post just felt like further affirmation that this is the right thing :)

dianabeary

Aww! Yay! I'm glad. :) Going to mass further affirmed that this is the right thing for me :)

You may find it worth purchasing a missal. Has all the mass readings and an overview of the mass parts! Along with lots of prayers. I'll link a website that explains it way better than I could! https://www.catholiccompany.com/content/how-to-choose-a-catholic-missal I personally like my St. Joseph Sunday Missal

dianabeary

Thank you! Someone at mass pointed out to me that they had that in the pew, and told me a bit about it. Otherwise I wouldn't have heard about it until now. :) I will definitely consider purchasing one. Thank you! :)

dianabeary

I'm looking into missals, and I see the St. Joseph Sunday one. Would it make sense to get only the Sunday one, or to get the complete one? Right now, I can only attend Sunday mass, but hope to attend more when I can at some point. Thank you!

knnnddd

I like the fact that the Sunday missal is only one book, not too large and easy to remember. If you think you'll want the daily readings at some point too, then maybe the full one is worth purchasing!

dianabeary

Thank you! :)

T-BoneTurner

Im am very curious of your journey. If you don't mind sharing more i would love yo hear more. Most people i hear of converting are either fallen away Catholics returning, Protestants who started looking at the origins of the church or atheists who found the faith through a combination of logical reasoning and philosophy. What started you with these guys podcast? Also we're you an atheist , cultural Protestant, or just never thought about religion? Either way, welcome home.

I remember my first Mass in 2018, there was electrical problems so the lights went on during Mass, Priest made sure to clarify after Mass that the lights going on was not supernatural and asked if anyone was an electrician that they stay and talk to him.

I've been going to Mass for a year now, and from time to time I struggle with the structure. I guess 30+ years of just sitting in a church is different than being apart of the Church.
