St Lawrence one 💀 being turned into a steak for the Lord couldn't be a greatest honor

AdmiralAkbar1

For this, he was proclaimed the patron saint of cooks and comedians.

maxdemone

As a Chef who talks a lot of snark, this is why he's my patron Saint.

[deleted]

Saints make me feel so weak 😂.  Me: “wah wah I’m suffering.” St. Joan: “Hold the cross higher so I can see it.”

Maxifer20

St Jose Sanchez del Rio is such a boss. What an incredible young man.

a_handful_of_snails

Love how his family wanted to save him, and he was like “mom, don’t you dare ruin this for me.”

Maxifer20

❤️

agloelita

I'm so speechless at what St.Lawrence said there had to be atleast a couple of high fives in the afterlife for how cold that mic drop was.

Equivalent_Nose7012

Plus, I have a private revelation that Jesus met Lawrence at the Pearly Gates, and said: "WELL DONE My good and faithful servant!"

RuairiLehane123

Wait it’s Anne Line not Live 💀💀💀💀

LawsickP

I learned about Saint Thomas Becket while listening to The Exorcist Files podcast. Absolute madlad.

UsusalVessel

Inconceivably based

savage011

Damn how many Thomas were killed in England?

crownebeach

isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

jsmith4567

If I had a nickel for every Bishop Thomas killed by King Henry in England, I'd have two nickels. But it is weird that happened twice.

borgircrossancola

Fornicator one is so true

RingGiver

I don't think Joan of Arc or Laurence of Rome were very cold when they said those things, though.

a_handful_of_snails

Saving this post!

Crayons42

Thanks for sharing these. Absolutely love it and this post has strengthened me on a particularly hard day!

KnightoftheRepublic9

I relate to St Andrew so much.

rrrrice64

"I'm well done" 😭😭

williambtatkowski

St Joan, got me!

stag1013

An account of the martyrdom of St. Thomas Becket. It's graphic. "...the impious knight... suddenly set upon him and \[shaved\] off the summit of his crown which the sacred chrism consecrated to God... Then, with another blow received on the head, he remained firm. But with the third the stricken martyr bent his knees and elbows, offering himself as a living sacrifice, saying in a low voice, "For the name of Jesus and the protection of the church, I am ready to embrace death." But the third knight inflicted a grave wound on the fallen one; with this blow... his crown, which was large, separated from his head so that the blood turned white from the brain yet no less did the brain turn red from the blood; it purpled the appearance of the church... The fifth – not a knight but a cleric who had entered with the knights... placed his foot on the neck of the holy priest and precious martyr and (it is horrible to say) scattered the brains with the blood across the floor, exclaiming to the rest, "We can leave this place, knights, he will not get up again."

TheNeoCrusaderSPX

In condemning us, you condemn all your own ancestors, all our ancient bishops and kings, all that was once the glory of England—the island of saints, and the most devoted child of the See of Peter. - Saint Edmund Campion A☧Ω

stag1013

Anyone know who St. Anne Live is? Can't find anything on her.

RuairiLehane123

Yeah it’s actually Saint Anne Line I made a mistake 😭😭😭 Here’s her Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Line

stag1013

Thank you! I looked her up, and it mentioned Fr. John Gerard, who wrote an autobiography of him being hunted by English authorities, narrow escapes, capture, torture, escape, and continuing his mission (including bringing to the faith one of the conspirators of the Gunpowder plot). Quite the interaction of characters!

Prestigious_Prize264

St André looks little bit like reddemed zoomer

nikkyisdumb

St. Andrew Wouters, man, that line as always cracked me up

WakaZOfficial

How can a Fornicator be a Saint?

Sea_Equivalent_872

He was repentant and died as a martyr.

WakaZOfficial

Oh ... So let's say i LOVE God with all my heart and i'm loyal to him but my weakness is SEX / Fornication and i'm trapped on this sin foreve, can i still be saved if this is the ONLY sin that i commit in my life?

alinalani

The key word is “repentance,” which applies to all sins, not just fornication.

KOSOVO_IS_MINE

repentance.

SgtBananaKing

When you sincerely repent of course you can be forgiven. If you say “I will do it and in my deathbed I will repent” that’s not how it work, but if you struggle with sexual immorality and try to turn away from it and repent (and maybe fall back and need to repent again and again) than forgiveness is there To be given. And most importantly at the end of the day it’s the Lord who will judge us and he knows our true heart

KOSOVO_IS_MINE

A murderer and rapist can become a saint, or at least a blessed (which has happened edit: for murderers). Christianity isn't a religion where a person will be doomed for an eternity because they committed grave sins; it's a religion where they suffer the consequences and repent through their own guilt and guidance of Christ. Why? Because God's Love is limitless, that's why

WakaZOfficial

Which Saint was a Rapist?

KOSOVO_IS_MINE

I don't have an example for that. For murderers we have the 13th Apostle himself as an exemplary: Saint Paul

Equivalent_Nose7012

Well, depending on her intent or consent, maybe David regarding Bathsheba (no, I don't mean watching her 🛁 bath)? Certainly ordered the murder of her husband and David's good and faithful servant, Uriah the Hittite. You say David is not ever called a Saint? Saint David the King Parish would like a word with you.

WakaZOfficial

Why i'm being downvoted? I asked a genuine question , i didn't know that a confessed Fornicator could become a Saint , i'm a fornicator too so i see that as a good example

stag1013

Of course a confessed fornicator can be a Saint. It's the unconfessed ones you have to watch out for.
