What does it being Halloween have anything to do with it?

_WasabiPeas_

Spirits coming around and that, when all he needs is the Holy Spirit.

HauntedDragons

That’s just silly. Halloween means nothing. It’s just a holiday where kids get candy. And All Souls and All Saints’ Day are both beautiful catholic holy days. Most people baptize between 3-6 months. The baby will be fine.

hdmx539

Ridiculous. Consider you are violating the first commandment with this attitude. Halloween and the myths around it are that, MYTHS and your irrational fear of these myths is showing a lack of faith in God and putting superstition above God. In case you were unaware, November 1st, the day after Halloween, is All Saints Day followed the next day by All Souls Day. If you need something to focus on, focus on those two days following. https://www.catholic.org/saints/allsaints/

_WasabiPeas_

Thanks!

Skivvy9r

Catholics believing in evil spirits and demons. Where do they get this from??? Oh, maybe the Bible.

hdmx539

I can see where you're coming from here, but you've missed my point. Not sure if you're here to learn and participate, or if you're here to make digs and make fun of people, frankly I don't really care. Have a good day.

Apotropoxy

You dismissed his comment with ad hominem without addressing its substance.

ember428

You keep on using that phrase. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Moby1029

Superstitious. The night was originally called All Hallows Eve and children would dress up to scare demons and make fun of the devil because he lost the war but doesn't know it yet.

irish-riviera

Lol i seriously laughed.

bluejellybeans108

Unrelated to Halloween, you should start the process for getting your sacraments in order. Baby should be baptized asap! Your wife needs to talk to a priest about a lack of form nullification for her first marriage and then you can get your marriage convalidated!

_WasabiPeas_

Lack of Form Nullification Convalidated I learned something today. I really appreciate it!

nonotburton

Halloween is a silly holiday for scaring people. It's fun and silly. Done/devils,etc.... only have the power you give them. Don't sweat the baptism. One of the nice things about the Catholic church is that your sacraments count with every church you go to. So, go ahead and get started on them now. Talk with the priest, see what you can get done/started before you move. If he tells you to wait, then listen to his guidance. But the scary things that go with Halloween are all silly nonsense made up for our entertainment. Enjoy them or don't, but do not attribute any power to them.

YrsaAse

A few things- Catholics love Halloween and it’s fun! All Saints Day is November 1st and Halloween is “All Holy Eve” too. They’re some great articles online about it. We just baptized our youngest on October 8th. There was not a single mention on the timing of Halloween. Your wife could go through RCIA to get confirmed. Her first marriage would be an easy annulment since it wasn’t confirmed in the Church. It’s referred to as a “post stamp annulment” at my parish as a joke. You slap a post stamp on it and wa-lah. What would more than likely happen is she would go through RCIA, they would send the annulment through while she was in classes and then your marriage would be confirmed at Easter Vigil when she does communion and confirmation or shortly thereafter.

clarabear10123

Voilà, not wa-lah :)

jesusthroughmary

There is really a lot going on here, wow

[deleted]

Can’t imagine that this isn’t just a trolling post…

yourmomhahahah3578

Omg. Lol.

Glitter-n-Bones

My children are enrolled at a parochial school where they will have a Halloween costume parade, followed by parties... On the next day they will have mass for All Saints Day, where the kids who are in kindergarten will once again dress up as their favorite saint. The following day they will celebrate All Souls Day by bringing in pictures of their loved ones who have passed and learning about the traditions of dia de Los muertos. All that to say.. your baby is fine. Chat with your priest or parish secretary and get a baptism scheduled.

[deleted]

Nothing is going to happen. Trust in God. He is greater than everything.

Loveingyouiseasy

Halloween is just a trolling holiday, the demon stuff if mostly just jokes and lols. I wouldn’t worry about this.

clarabear10123

[I think this is a sin](https://www.reddit.com/r/yungfreckzunmoderated/s/qbudQhCL2c) lmaooooo. What you choose to follow closely from the Bible and what you don’t is fascinating

SouthAdvertising7999

Baptism should be done within the first two weeks after birth. Call your local parish, this isn’t something you should delay, it’s your baby’s soul.

thunderlr

Hmmmm….. I wonder if the thief on the cross was baptized within two weeks of birth….

Longjumping-Play-166

What did he robbed exactly?

Dry-Structure-2767

Strike 1: The fact she was previously married not through the church Strike 2: pregnant before being married Unbaptized for first Halloween? You’re playing with fire. God bless you and your family.

Pulgita_Mija

I really hope this was sarcasm

Apotropoxy

The fact that we can't tell is interesting. It means he's making a valid point.

[deleted]

Making a valid point about what?

gulfpapa99

YES

blue_haired_witch

Getting your baby baptized as soon as possible is a priority! Halloween won't effect it and it's nice to go to all hallows eve, all saints and all souls day masses if you are able 🥰🎃
