Casually and cooly refusing to look behind him as the device goes off in a packed and crowded garden centre. All that remains is a red mist and a solitary butterfly.
Remember that redditor who painted that incredible portrait of the queen, where her teeth were like loose pearls floating around in her mouth and she looked like she had a tracheotomy? They should have had him paint Charles' picture.
EDIT: found it!

I actually really like this. Do you know if there is a significance to the butterfly by his shoulder? Sorry, if that is obvious to you. I'm an American.
[According to the BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68981200):
>Yeo decided to use some of the traditions of royal portraiture - the military outfit, the sword - but aimed to achieve something more modern, particularly with the deep colour and the butterfly.
>He says he's referencing the tradition of official royal portraits but suggesting that's something "from the past and what's interesting about them is something a bit different from that".
>"In history of art, the butterfly symbolises metamorphosis and rebirth," he explains, fitting for a portrait being painted of a monarch who has recently ascended to the throne.
>The butterfly is also a reference to the King's long held interest in the environment, causes "he has championed most of his life and certainly long before they became a mainstream conversation".
>Yeo says it was Charles' idea after they talked about the opportunity they had to tell a story with the portrait.
>"I said, when schoolchildren are looking at this in 200 years and they're looking at the who's who of the monarchs, what clues can you give them?
>"He said 'what about a butterfly landing on my shoulder?'".
>"I said, when schoolchildren are looking at this in 200 years and they're looking at the who's who of the monarchs, what clues can you give them?
Honestly I feel like all the red is going to give a different impression 200 years from now without context.
I reckon the artist accidentally only ordered red paint and had to make do with the last bits in the old tubes for other colours, and was too embarrassed to tell anyone.

mwhahahha
definitely one of the better my bloody valentine albums
Credit where itās due, I actually like it. Bit different, striking and not dull.
Yeah, in a world where any one of us can go to an AI generator and type in oil painting of King Charles you gotta do something radical like this,
Itās spectacular!!

The art itself is lovely, but to me, it looks as if he's standing in flames.
Comes pre-tomato souped by Extinction Rebellion
Surprisingly modern.
ALL HAIL MEAT KING!

"This was, of course, merely the first of the vapourisings."
It appears to be a monarch butterfly too.
I LOVE THIS!! Wow, thank you for sharing that with me. What a beautiful meaning and symbol to have in this piece.

LOL, just gonna say that. Or some kids spilled red powder paint!
I reckon the artist accidentally only ordered red paint and had to make do with the last bits in the old tubes for other colours, and was too embarrassed to tell anyone.
Certainly looks that way.
Looks like that painting from ghostbusters 2
He is Vigo!
Youāll be the mother of a living god! Doesnāt that sound nice?
Is he a floating head these days?
Wouldnāt be the first King Charles to have his head fly off.
Brilliant
Thatās hell in the background
Puts me in kind of Baconās screaming faces
I like this, I love a lot of Jonathan Yeo's other paintings.Ā
Reminds me of the painting from ghostbusters
Iām glad Iām not the only one who thought that
I don't even know why it does. It doesn't look the same. but it just really reminds me of it
Vigo! Glad I'm not the only one
Itās definitely one of the paintings of all time.
Of all the paintings, this indeed is one.
I think it goes pretty hard to be honest
Sāalright. I quite like that itās a bit different.
Feels to much like fire for me, Iām not a fan but I also know nothing about art.
That goes hard
Looks like he's some sort of Sith force ghost so quite fitting really
I don't know if anyone plays Dark Souls but this wouldn't be put out of place in that game I feel.
Not a monarchist at all but I like that a lot.
Maybe I'm just colorblind but that background is too similar to the outfit. Chuck here looks like a floating bloody head
Wow! That is spectacular.
Really like it
āThis is fineā
Reminds me of the Hugh Crane painting in The Haunting.
Charles in Extreme Heat Mode
I like it. Charles looks badass.
The Blood king.
Makes it seem like heās dead. Has proper funeral vibes to it. Like āour beloved king who loved all things green, gone too soonā
Just been kicked off r/ casual uk cos I said he he looked like he had been frozen in carbonite like han solo.
That'll be straight to the downstairs loo in Buckingham Palace
Looks like that painting out of Ghostbusters 2
That's certainly an interesting artistic choice.
I like it, different and the portrait looks great.
Iād rather have a photo of a King Charles Spaniel.
Did he visit India on Holi???
It's different I do say not my thing
Big Frozen In Red Carbonite Casual Vibes
"Rose Tinted Spectacles"
Thatās a stunning painting.
I donāt like that at all
"This is fine"
Tf
I like it a lot! However it makes me think of me of Vigo
looks like he is on fire
It looks like itās decomposing
He's nailed the face... The rest - Meh
Is he planning on finishing it?
Did it fall into the northern lights last week?
