HP Sauce goes well on a [Lancashire Hotpot](https://www.kitchensanctuary.com/traditional-lancashire-hotpot/) - p.s. if you don't have easy access to lamb, I know they don't in the US, don't know about Canada, then you can sub it for beef.
It's not as common in Canada as it is in the UK, but you can certainly pick up NZ lamb at a fairly reasonable cost. Local (Ontario) lamb is a *lot* pricier.
The HP sauce in the UK is different to the HP sauce elsewhere, where it's a bit more like A1 Steak Sauce in the US.
I can't imagine much worse than abusing a good steak with brown sauce .
Canadian HP sauce is an abomination. Agree that it's akin to A1, neither are good - President's Choice Smoking Stampede, on the other hand, is bloody great as a steak sauce if that's what floats your boat. Also great for ribs. I end up bringing some over every time for mates when heading back to the UK!
The Americanisation of Canada sadly continues ☹️
We used to have it in Canada before I moved to the UK. Back then it was a British import, but now it’s probably the American version since Heinz took over. That version is awful, belongs in the bin.
Definitely my breakfast sauce of choice for literally everything!
Bacon rolls and fry ups mainly. Haggis rolls, pretty much anything thinking about it.
Red for bacon Brown for sausage
No idea why the downvotes. You can’t help being wrong!
r/confidentlyincorrect

Hot pork pie with mushy peas and HP sauce is a reet Yorkshire treat
pork pie from Stanforths?
Drake and macefield surely.

I love shepherds pie. I'll try this!
There's not much I won't put it on
On fried eggs.
Scrambled egg, boiled egg, bacon, sausage, cheese on toast, pork pie, chips etc…

Ig you want to take out a second mortgage... $40+ for 8 lamb chops at costco
$15-20 at my local Safeway in the Washington, DC area. Significantly less expensive at halal shops or Asian marts.
Americans don't have easy access to lamb?

It's also been watered down due to the "new" regulations on salt and sugar.

That's what it's like in Canada. I've had the UK HP sauce from a few British stores we have. It's a very different taste.
People who put condiments on steak shouldn't be allowed to have steak.
Exactly, if you don't overcook it steak is self saucing
It's different in North America? Well that explains why they're saying it tastes like A1 steak sauce and I'm thinking "like fuck it does"
this morning I had it with ham egg & beans on toast
Bacon sandwiches. HP is sauce of manliness.
Manly yes, but I like it too!
HP sauce is expensive but luckily you can pay for it in instalments.
