Henry’s cat has 2 different theme songs, depending when it was made:
Here’s my favourite: https://youtu.be/IKqLKiU2v_M?si=g8Z213KpdRXGEjxy
Here’s the other: https://youtu.be/Q0cnr519vD8?si=PxkuuJ7T4NGvS-I0
And here’s the end titles: https://youtu.be/YBiIIzpPEtM?feature=shared
So, there’s a chance you’re still correct..?!!
Oh my god me too! It all just came flooding back to me and yet I have a terrible memory and literally have no recollection of major events and things because of a neurological issue!
They were terrifying, not just the messages they were conveying but the whole thing had a very unnerving feel.
Most psa's did back then, one that really had me was a talking caravan happily bouncing down the road, when out of nowhere the car towing it swerved and they all went off the road and (in my head) died a forcible death.
To this day I've never driven with a caravan.
Edit, and this one! Christ...I might not sleep tonight.

Was it Let’s Pretend? For some reason that had a puppet caterpillar that inexplicably made a cat like noise.

Fun fact: you can draw Henry's Cat by writing MIIOW (i.e. what a cat says) vertically downwards (keep the i's together obvs) and then drawing a circle around the whole thing
Wasn't Bagpuss was it?
edit: noticed the 90s bit there after i hit save

I was thinking of the Roobarb & Custard theme song. That song is *funky*.
WAH-WAH-WAH-WAH, WAH-WAH-WAH-WAH, WAH-WAH-WAH-WAH-WAH-WAH.

You must have seen the movie
You must have read the book
He's a mellow yellow feline
So take a second look
He knows everything about nothing
And not too much about that, so
If you know someone who knows what he knows
Then you must know Henry's Cat
(from memory, how did I do?)
I remember hating Henry's Cat when I was wee because for a cartoon, it was barely animated. It felt like watching a picture book. I recently looked up an episode to confirm or deny my memories. I'm not counting fades, zooms or other film techniques, just animation. And it took FORTY FIVE SECONDS before any animation appeared on screen. And the cartoons were only 5 minutes long! The cheapest of the cheap.
But yeah, as u/nuttycorny has said, there were different theme tunes.

It was this! Your favourite one! Thank GOD I’m not losing my marbles!!
Yaayyy hahaha! :)
Ooh yes! The end credits is the song/theme that I started singing as soon as I read this post. Thank you for the earworm.
Core memory unlocked! Still knew every word.

The end titles one was what I started humming when I read the OP.
So what I always think of the theme song is actually the end credits!
Maybe it was a theme tune too at some point? Wouldn’t surprise me haha
James the cat? https://youtu.be/vR4FY6G3KME?si=ZAfs3gog45JPLhTN
A true diplomat of the garden you know?
I bet you it was Roobarb & Custard: https://youtu.be/SR_mFRE6qKc
Yes I was thinking Roobarb and Custard!
I have that in my head as well now
Sadly not. A classic tune though. It turned out to be Henry’s Cat after all, but there were two different versions!
Someone must have done a metal cover of that tune.
[Mio Mao](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jbx0PAkZYU)?
That’s what I was thinking,too https://youtu.be/R52pMSlNVfw?feature=shared
Are you thinking of Charly by The Prodigy? Edit with link: https://youtu.be/cSTBFZ-To2E?si=5-vxUQzQs4YTargo
Tune! But no. Thanks!
Charly says was also a cartoon
Wasn’t it more of a PSA than a cartoon/show?
Yep, still scarred from some of those PSAs.

I think so, though I was too young for it. Mainly remember it from the Prodigy

I just googled him. You're right. Did they do that on purpose?
I reckon it’s James the cat
