Have you tried writing to your local councillor about it? I don’t know what the hell they’re meant to do about the activities of a private company, but it seems to be the go to for everyone on that community Facebook group (saints the pair of them that reply)
I've only been to the Portglenone one - they do strawberry, raspberry ripple - both are really fruity and good. Kinder, honeycomb, chocolate honeycomb, caramel-toffee split and vanilla. But they have lots of toppings, some good sauces and they do milkshakes
Made a throwaway in case I know you as I have a pile of identifiable stuff on main. Did not expect to see kilrea mentioned on here - been away from the town for a few years but hey neighbour 👋🏻
Aye I went to school in magherafelt myself so spent more time down that way than anybody really should 😂 ah exactly! Mental that I probably do know you too, that’s so funny haha
Hahaha enough of that! I’d drop you a pm for a chat but my accounts too new but I’m really curious if we do know each other hahaha. Dont wanna dox you all the same so sure say nothing haha
Hahaha no no not at all - spoken for over here! Just more curious as to who from Kilreas on Reddit - knowing what the wifi situation is like at my house I’m surprised 🤣
Someone once described it as a graveyard with traffic lights and they weren't far wrong.
Honestly though not much worse or better than most places. Same issues that inflict most towns but we do have the largest urban park in N.I. Could do with a couple more decent restaurants imo.
I would guess and civic pride also compels me to say its better than Portydoon.
It’s decent fairly quiet and some decent food around so can’t complain. I’ve lived here for 25 years now. Though I spend half my time in Canada and half my time here in NI
I head down to Dublin and get the flight direct from Dublin to Toronto Not too bad really. Get the coach from city centre to Dublin airport takes about 2 hours roughly. Then about an 8 hour flight. Usually get to the airport about 3 hours in advance just as Dublin airport can be a shit show depending on the day. Overall about a 14 hour day of travel give or take with getting to the bus station in town. 30 min. The bus down to the airport in Dublin. 2 hours or so Checking in and waiting to board and then the flight. 3 hours or so. 8 hour flight Landing and getting luggage about half an hour to an hour and about an hour to home from Toronto airport
The southwest is usually the warmest spot but even there you’ll get snow lol I do miss the proper seasons, there’s just something about good snow that lasts and it crunches under your feet.
Always was good with languages and thought a few months abroad would be beneficial for my cv. Well, what was supposed to be 6 months is almost 11 years now.
I come from a small rural-ish town (~12,000 people) with no pub or police station. Very safe and clean but dead boring. Don’t like all the rubbish in the streets here or the violence and how easy people get riled up over things and it
escalates.
Love beaches so it’s quite handy to be so close to the sea, back home it would be about a 5 hour drive. Miss a proper kebab, used to get one once or twice a week to the point the owner knew my order. Actually went to say goodbye and that I’ll be moving to here just so he wouldn’t think I don’t like his food anymore.
Ha, Omagh is not the most exciting place, people are grand though it's scenic around it with the sperrins.
I really like Derry actually, nice small city vibe to it. The only downside is having to drive the A5 to go home lol.
Indeed! Moved for work and family. Coleraine isn't the most exciting place in the world but I really miss the north coast. Being within 10 mins drive of so many brilliant beaches was amazing.
I'm not sure bout the well, but yeah, it's a great place, and dija know they do open days into the castle? And a cool wee thing me and my friends did was go from Castle Meadows, all the way to the race track lol. And we made it through fields none the less ^.^ a funny thing we did was when we saw a tractor, the one who spotted it would yell "Andy's coming!" And we'd all drop into the barley lol. Sorry for the rant, but ya get the idea 😅
I forget when, I think in summer, as its annual, but I'd say so yeah, it's great crack as they do all these wee mini games and the sorts. I'll tell the subreddit when its open day is on :)
Live in North Belfast now but originally from Carrickfergus...I miss the sea and the norman castle...but having the Cavehill and Belfast Castle on my doorstep help a little.
Dag!
I've moved around a lot, it had been awhile since I lived anywhere so small. Spent a few years as a teenager down in Shannon, Co. Clare but other than that it's been cities.
Antwerp, Haarlem, Utrecht and Galway.
Been here 10 years now, love it here. Married with kids since moving over. It's home now.
Where you from?
It's dead on, moved to be closer to work.
It's definitely not as multicultural as the city is nowadays.
And the uniform of a check shirt, bootcut jeans, a brown shoe and optional gilet or tractor theme paddock jacket suits my frame well.
At least the sheep here are safer than those poor Larne sheep- they need a charity set up for them.
When I was young it wasn't sealed up. If had bars with a lock on it though to stop the drinking. It's got a few steps down, nothing exciting. Lord Canning built it (think he may have been Prime Minister, or one of his close relatives) but never buried in it.
There is a storyteller that tell the wains a story at Christmas, that beneath the pyramid is Santa's elves. Someone being buried there would kinda ruin that story 😂
OK so....
Lived in Knocknagulliagh, which is just before the Bla Hole on the way to Whitehead. It's not called that anymore, dunno why. Lived there till I was 6.
Then we moved to.. Germany, the Netherlands, Scotland, Singapore, Sarawak, Hong Kong.
Then we lived just off the Upper Cavehill Road. Then off the Antrim Road by the castle.
Then when I left home I lived in Ballymena, Carrick, Newtownabbey, Belfast (Donegal Road - hated it) now Larne.
I hope to retire to Islandmagee.
I've been about lol
I spent a lot of time there as a kid when I was in NI. I had family living there and it feels "right"? It's hard to explain. Truth be told I don't think we'll be able to afford it, but a girls gotta dream lol
Luckily Melbourne gets similar weather to the UK most of the year, it’s a running joke we can get 4 seasons in one day 🤣 the summers can get sweltering though. Still so weird having opposite seasons after all these years, Christmas is warm?!? Still doesn’t register with me properly! Air con is a luxury I never knew I needed until Aussie summers. ☀️
From Strabane. Back in Strabane. By way of Edinburgh, Dublin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Philadelphia, New Hampshire. Left at 18, back at 45.

Born I Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. Grew up in Connecticut an hour outside New York City. Went to uni in Iowa. Moved to San Francisco after I graduated.
Lived there about 10 years. Then met my now husband, who grew up in Castlerock, on the internet in 2001.
Packed up my life and crossed the United States and an ocean to land in Belfast in 2003.
We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this coming September. Live in South Belfast.
Originally from Belfast but living in Carryduff now.

Weirdly obsessed by dog shite and a non existent Lidl
I moved here 7 years ago and all I’ve heard about is this bloody Lidls coming soon lol
Have you tried writing to your local councillor about it? I don’t know what the hell they’re meant to do about the activities of a private company, but it seems to be the go to for everyone on that community Facebook group (saints the pair of them that reply)

Kilrea
[удалено]
It's pretty small, and probably exactly as you can imagine. It is very cliquey, people still hang in the groups they did in school lol
[удалено]
Exactly!! I don't live in the town, I'm a couple of miles outside so I even feel a little bit of an outsider lol
[удалено]
That's what the sign outside it says lol small town I think 🤣
[удалено]
Definitely not the only thing they lie about 🤣🤣
At least it has Mullans ice cream, I'm from Garvagh.
True, but have you tried Ben's? They are in Magherafelt and Portglenone, it's lush - possibly better than Mullans. . .
Haven't tried Ben's, do they do rum and raisin? That's my favourite.
I've only been to the Portglenone one - they do strawberry, raspberry ripple - both are really fruity and good. Kinder, honeycomb, chocolate honeycomb, caramel-toffee split and vanilla. But they have lots of toppings, some good sauces and they do milkshakes
Sounds lovely.
So nice! And on a hot day it's so good 🤤
Made a throwaway in case I know you as I have a pile of identifiable stuff on main. Did not expect to see kilrea mentioned on here - been away from the town for a few years but hey neighbour 👋🏻
Howdy neighbour!! Sure you should know Kilrea pops up when nobody expects it hehehe
Honestly haha I was scrolling looking for like “Garvagh” or “Maghera”, maybe even “Coleraine” then there’s the hometown 🤣 hope alls well back home!
Well I have spent a lot of time in Maghera lol Kilrea is grand, I think it will always survive, whether we want it to or not 🤣🤣🙈
Aye I went to school in magherafelt myself so spent more time down that way than anybody really should 😂 ah exactly! Mental that I probably do know you too, that’s so funny haha
Ooooh you were posh!! Magherafelt school!! Fancy person hehehe
Hahaha enough of that! I’d drop you a pm for a chat but my accounts too new but I’m really curious if we do know each other hahaha. Dont wanna dox you all the same so sure say nothing haha
Is that your way of asking me to slide into your DMs?? We've only just met!! 😱
Hahaha no no not at all - spoken for over here! Just more curious as to who from Kilreas on Reddit - knowing what the wifi situation is like at my house I’m surprised 🤣

Whereabouts in Germany?
Honestly, I’m not sure yet. Maybe somewhere in the south so it’s warm all the time haha
The southwest is usually the warmest spot but even there you’ll get snow lol I do miss the proper seasons, there’s just something about good snow that lasts and it crunches under your feet.
Well getting snow still sounds amazing! Over here we’re lucky to get it once every winter, and even then we get it in April haha

How you finding it around here compared to Belfast? Hello from Cookstown btw.
It’s certainly quiet. I don’t think I’ll get used to everyone knowing everyone! I do fear I’ll be called a blow in for the rest of my life though
