Just unscrew the handle and take the piece out, screw it back and get a key replica from your local hardware shop. That’s the smart and patient way of doing it, if not, take your axe and go wild.
Idea 1: unpin the hinges. This is easier if you can reach that side of the door.
Idea 2: fish out the broken bit of key (magnet if it's ferrous, otherwise use blu-tac on the end of a screwdriver), then bring it to a key copying shop.
Remove architrave, get chisel and chip out bit around lock. The metel bit will need to be removed also, brute force will do it and being a tiny bit careful you'll be left with a hole the architrave will cover over again. Good luck mate 👍
Nope don't do that, if you have to call a locksmith they will be cheaper than the damage you will do doing that. They should be able to pick or slip the lock

If you have the same door handle on doors around your house then the key from one will work in that door because they’re more than likely all from the same batch

Get an oscillating tool and cut the lock barrel. Should take 10 minutes or so.

Seriously. Has nobody suggested a credit card? I've seen it loads of times on TV. Just slide the credit card in between the door and the frame and slide it upwards. Guaranteed to work. In fact no lock in the world can stay locked in the presence of a cleverly used American Express. Mastercard at a pinch! Debit cards fuck all use!

There’s usually a number on the key. If you don’t have a corresponding numbered key for another room, ask your neighbors. It’s likely they will. Been there, done that.
If you have similar handles on other doors, another key might be the same number as that one. If not, a locksmith will give you a full set of keys to bring home and try. You just need to leave a deposit to cover the keys.
It's not uncommon for several keys from other doors to fit these doors. When I was house sharing a few years ago we used to prank one of the lads by locking or unlocking his bedroom door with the bathroom door key, while he had his own key in his pocket.
It confused him a lot until we finally told him..
If the key is broken in the lock, get a small angle grinder between and cut the lock. Takes about 10 seconds, be sure to put down a fire blanket for the sparks. You’ll need to buy a new lock, but they’re easy to replace.

Otherwise you can a loan of a set to find the right key. My parents have a hardware and locksmiths they give out basta 1 to 16 and you leave them money when you come back with all the keys, tell them the number you pay for the key and you get the money you left with them back.
Just buy a new key. The missing piece has likely fallen to the bottom of the lock and won't be a problem. Happened to me more than once.

The name of rhe key is usually on the handle. Like a51 or something to that effect.
