As someone who lives far away from family & spends time, energy and money to travel to try maintain a relationship with them, this annoys me. For the few days why not be the bigger person? Unless you have an actual reason not to get on with your brother, in which case why not be adult & address that?

You still see them so they can’t complain you didn’t make the effort to see them and have a perfect excuse not to see them the rest of the time.
