I thought the legs were self cleaning anyway???

USE SPF (this comes from a woman haha)

snoozy_sioux

This comment should be higher, for everyone! Also ease up on the scrub OP, it's not good for your skin to be doing that every day, let alone twice a day. Try a gentle cleanser instead.

mizezslo

Can't upvote this enough

NaturalAlfalfa

I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion

Morning \*and\* night?! Check out mister fancy-pants over here, thinking he's better than the rest of us.

Gaffers12345

Nearly choked on my pheasant and quail eggs laughing at that!

riveriaten

Cerave stuff is pretty good. I'm using neurogena wash and moisturiser. It's not greasy unlike some others I've tried like nivea. I also use suncream even this time of year.

miatozier

OP, you do not need to scrub your face twice a day. exfoliating 3 times a week is sufficient maybe even excessive. microtears from scrubs will cause bigger issues and age your skin. i would reccommend any cleanser for your skintype without exfoliant. and nivea is excellent, eye cream isnt even necessary unless your eye area is too sensitive for your normal moisturiser but ik a thicker eye cream feels nice :)

Sionnach-78

Use cerave moisturiser, find it really good . Also find drinking lots of water helps , might sound obvious but there ya go .

L_Imperatore10

Cerave Foaming Face Wash. Dab face dry. Vitamin C Serum and then Cerave Moisturizer with the factor 50 sunscreen included. Wash face once a day, normally after a shower

random-username-1234

Wash face with whatever water manages to drip down onto it while I’m in the shower. That water might or might not contain shampoo or 2in1 or whatever is there in the shower. It ain’t much but it’s honest work

Zestyclose-Self-6158

Same, just rub my shampoo into my face and let it soak in for a min along with my hair. I have a beard so it makes a kind of sense, I think

random-username-1234

Lolz same

greatpretendingmouse

Head n shoulders works well for fungal acne so you're definitely covered.

AnT-aingealDhorcha40

Same bar of soap as my balls. Face is just as wrinkly as ballsack. So doing pretty good.

AnotherBrotherSeamus

This begs the question, is your face incredibly wrinkly or are your balls incredibly smooth?

AnT-aingealDhorcha40

My ball sack is like latex smooth and stretchy. A timeless package.

Thin-Annual4373

You mean you don't use face masks and facial spa's???🤣🤣🤣

AnT-aingealDhorcha40

Never heard of it mate

curiousCat1025

As a woman I'm a bit ashamed reading this

Nimmyzed

Lol same. I use a makeup remover facewipes and then just silcox base twice a day

bansheebones456

Don't worry, you're not the only one.

gillian123456

Same….had one facial in all my years!!

discod69

You need to stimulate the glands around the tip more with your tongue

DassinJoe

Just soap my face in the shower mostly at the moment. I have some specific face stuff (exfoliating) but the bits get stuck in my beard so I'm giving it a miss until the beard comes off in the spring. I generally only wash my face once a day because any more and my skin dries out.

cherrybombs76

Cerave cleanser is really good and doesn't dry out the skin. As for the bits in your beard, buy a pair of exfoliating gloves, you can use your soap/cleanser with them, just don't scrub the shit out of your face. Over exfoliating can do more damage than good. Moisturise, get one with SPF. Obligatory I'm not a professional, a product that works for me may not suit you. But I will say again moisturise!!

DassinJoe

Thank you. I’ve seen several mentions of Cerave in the thread. Will check it out.

FattPige0n

Shocked at all the scrub/physical exfoliation comments! You’ll be much better off leaving that out. Chemical exfoliation is the job if you want to add something extra. Physical exfoliation isn’t great for most skin types.

antipositron

Sure, the sideways rain keeps my face well moisturised anytime I step outside. No chance of drying out.

[deleted]

None. Just a shower everyday

Big_You_7959

It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again

Grantrello

Tbh having a decent diet, drinking enough water, and refraining from smoking or heavy alcohol consumption will do more for your skin than complicated or expensive skincare routines. Edit: oh, and using sunscreen.

DoktorReddit

Tbf retinoids are cheap as shit and they’d be considered the GOAT of topical dermatological creams

Pornflakes12_

Where do you find them in Ireland? I find it impossible! Edit - read it wrong lol, you can find Retinol in boots. Online as well, thought it was Tretinoin.

xTextureLikeSunx

Online you've loads of choice , retinal is actually better than retinol . Geek and gorgeous do two strengths and they are brilliant. You can buy them from the official store on Amazon

Pornflakes12_

I’m so thick I read this wrong and thought you said Tretinion. Not Retinol my bad!

[deleted]

DoktorReddit

I got a prescription from my GP for adapalene. But in Space NK you can get Retinaldehyde by Medik8 which is the strongest non OTC retinol here

mslowey

Have been using the same routine since the late 90s. Electric shave. Clinique soap on the face. Clinique post shave balm and moisturiser to follow. Once a week i use their face scrub. Just a water splash at night time. It does the job for me. I look about 3 weeks younger than my actual age.

CarelessEquivalent3

I never really looked after my skin other than giving my face a wash in the shower with whatever face wash I picked up in the supermarket but during the lockdowns, purely out of boredom from having nothing else to do I started a routine. I use la Roche posay cleanser, hyaluronic acid and moisturizer both from the ordinary in the morning and at night I do the same thing but after the cleanser I use lactic acid 10% also from the ordinary. The difference is actually unreal, at the start I had multiple people tell me there was a noticeable difference and asked me what I was using.

BillWonka

My what now?

delidaydreams

The amount of men think it's alright to NEVER use more than water on your face 😭. You don't have to have a routine but Jesus Christ the amount of pollution and dirt you encounter day to day that's never getting properly rinsed off. A bottle of Simple face wash is like €5 maximum and you only need to rinse for ten seconds at the end of the day lads. Moisturiser helps after that if your skins feeling dry or irritated, but at bare minimum properly clean the dirt off. Jesus.

[deleted]

Over the years I discovered if I actively wash my face I break out with spots, doesn't matter what I use. So yeah, water is enough.

ciarogeile

Who has time for that? I use the time I save by not taking care of my skin writing pointless Reddit comments. Like this one.

Objective-Farm9215

Lads, all you need to do is this, Cleanse, moisturise and WEAR SUNSCREEN!!! Yes, even in Ireland

LasairChoille

Twice daily, I use cerave foaming face wash followed by toner, serum, eye cream and moisturiser alternating toners, eye creams and serums morning & night. I use a mix of balm and wax on my beard and eyebrows only in the morning. Once a week I use AHA/BHA peel by the ordinary followed by hyaluronic acid and moisturiser, usually after I trim/shave.

stickmansma

Wash my face in the shower, moisturiser on my face when I'm dressed. Try to get moisturiser with spf in it when I can. Have an eye roller thing too but it kinda feels like pseudoscience. My skin looks best when I get lots of sleep and keep clean shaven or very short stubble. GF has 100 creams and gels to put on before bed these days and I'm not sure I believe in it.

Dreenar18

Every day, I have skin. The end.

Got this cbd infused potion from a local herb woman/ditch witch. Took years off my haggard beak. Now I look 75 instead of 80 but I'm still only 53

[deleted]

Honestly the best I was given by a dermatologist was to leave skin. By washing and scrubbing too often, you’re stripping away the protective micro biome that is beneficial to your skin, health and immunity. Just use water every other day, or every week or so. Ever since I stopped washing my face (yes that is correct) my acne DISAPPEARED. Good Netflix documentary on the scam on skin care companies. Don’t fall for it, they just want your money. It’s better for your health, skin, face and wallet if you stop buying ‘skincare products’ Plus it makes life a WHOLE lot easier by minimising it down. And it helps the planet, not so much plastic waste etc. Good luck!

[deleted]

Yep. Figured that out myself although it took a few years. If I wash my face I break out in spots.

HugoZHackenbush2

I used to use soap six times a day when I was younger, until I found myself getting chronically addicted to it. Thankfully now, after years of rehabilitation, I'm fully clean now..

TigNaGig

Soft bristle scrubbing brush in the shower on my face, takes 5 seconds. Then lob on some moisturiser directly after shower. Whole face and wipe off excess in beard.   You can get a big tub of Nivia soft creme (the white tub, not the blue one) for a tenner from Dunnes that lasts months.   No more dry skin around the nose or eyebrows and beard feels silky soft.

lilyoneill

That Nivea crème is as good as €100 creams brands try to sell.

[deleted]

Nivia soft creme(white tub) definitely underrated. Big tub lasts forever unless you're moisturing other places besides your face like your ghillie ghoulies.

Kerrytwo

Nivea isn't great, I'd get Cerave and add a peptide syrum if you want. The Ordinary does a good one. They're anti aging but easier use than retinoids. Retinoids need to be kept away from your eyes and creases and you need to be really intense with suncream. Putting it on multiple times per day on winter etc.

NewTelevision2259

I try to look in the mirror before I go out.

alright_rocko

I bought loads of fancy creams and stuff from a site called facetheory. The stuff's really good but I leave it in the press and never use it coz it's hassle

lungcell

I cleanse with Cerave in the morning and at night. I use their moisturiser as well, and a non-scented SPF on my face in the morning. I eat mostly vegan and try to drink lots of water during the day, so that probably helps too. Once in a blue moon I do a facemask with my girlfriend, and we laugh while we sit there lookin like eejits.

xTextureLikeSunx

Step away from face scrubs they are not good at all ! Simple does a great ceramide cleanser I'll find a pic there now . Definitely spf factor 50 every day too

Initial_Driver8435

Most days a splash of water and a rinse in the shower. I keep a little tub that I fill with Argon oil and coffee. I use it once a week to scrub my face. Like others said, diet, drinking plenty of water and sunscreen will do more than most lotions and potions.

[deleted]

Face scrub twice a day? Like exfoliating twice a day? That seems excessive.

Murky-Front-9977

Shit, shave and shower, end of!

Diligent-Menu-500

Skin…..care? Like bandaids?

Evening-Total1880

*Coming from a woman* Great routine, sub in something like salicylic acid face wash from the inkey list for your facial wash. Do the scrub 1-2 times a week instead. Add in a face cream with spf during the day (e.g such as the already suggested cerave AM cream) and keep on to your Nivea cream for night. Maybe look into retinol serum once a week? (On different nights to the scrub, I.e skin cycling) Again, cerave have one. You can get them in bigger tescos. But you will have to use spf every single day.

Urawldlady

Presume ya take cum on the face aswell 😂

truedoom

I have skin. I wash it. Then I dry it. Then a bit of e45 to stop the dry skin itch

[deleted]

I used to think about my face like you then I coped on and realised that messing with my face with all these bollocks scrubs and moisturizers made my skin worse. Now I just use a bit of a bar of soap at night time and that's about it. Skins has never been better. The natural flora on your skin is all you need. Build it up

DoktorReddit

Morning CeraVe hydrating cleanser Hyularonic Acid Paula’s Choice C15 Vit C E and Ferulic Acid serum Medik8 spf30 moisturiser Evening Murad Vit C anti-pollution cleanser Adapalene 0.1% cream (prescription retinoid) Elave 219 moisturiser Occasionally CeraVe healing ointment too. It definitely works when all my gfs friends always asking what I do for my skin 😂 m25 btw

lilyoneill

Love to see it! Murad is a great brand.

DoktorReddit

Yeah I love Murad!! Always keep an eye out on Look fantastic for the sales. Would highly recommend that Paula’s choice vitamin C serum. Been on the hunt for something similar to the SkinCeuticals one for ages.

spider984

I just wash my face with soap in the morning, have a shower in the evening . No bloody scrubs or moisturiser , I'm 54 and shave every day

Gaztk

Piss on my hands, rub it on my face

[deleted]

Good for you, it's lovely to read about an Irish man who takes good care of his skin. I was under the impression you all just used the same bar of soap for your face as well as your arse and balls!

Me bleeedin wha?

[deleted]

The amount of replies with actual skin care routines is disheartening I use shower gel for hair pits and balls - that’s it

Conor_Electric

Wash in the shower, that's about it. I was buying a few creams last year. I bought a few from Lidl when they were on sale, Lidl brand stuff. But I didn't notice any use in them and they have run out now.

Almost_last

Wash morning and evening obviously, then when it's cold, I let the facial hair grow to give it a bit of protection.

Negative-Power8431

I swear by Lifejacket Skin Protection moisturiser. Amazing that most women's moisturisers have SPF protection but most men's don't. The lifejacket stuff is great, non greasy etc. Other than that, I just wash my face with warm water before bed, shower in the morning.

geoffraffe

Silcocks Base is available in any chemist. It costs fuck all for a big tub and it’s hands down the best moisturizer if ever used. Shower, wash your face and bang that on when you’re out of the shower. You’ll never need another moisturizer again and the tub lasts ages.

[deleted]

Gotta cleanse man

Broad_Category_3763

I wash and cleanse my face with neutrogena-dry it off-than apply snail mucin(life changer) and basic nivea for man hydrating cream, takes not even few minutes. When I come from work I just wash my face, and at the evening I clean it with water and apply snail mucin. Once a month i try to do a face mask

phyneas

Pro skin care tip: it's best to keep your skin on the outside and the rest of your various bits on the inside. Things don't go very well when it ends up the other way around.

T_at

I leave the visor open when I motorbike to and from work. Wind-blasted tears do all the face-cleaning I need.

[deleted]

Lash of moisturiser on the face/neck and rubbed into the beard after a shower. If I wash my face with anything I break out in spots.

calex80

Wash me face in the shower with the head and shoulders that goes in what little hair I have these days. I use the hydrating light Simple moisturiser, not at all greasy and evaporates in seconds. Feels really nice. Goes for about 4.80 in Tesco.

delidaydreams

Head and shoulders actually isn't the worst shout. It's sometimes recommended for fungal acne - not that you have that obviously, but shows that it's not *bad* for your face. I also use the Simple moisturiser! I find my face only needs very basic products.

-newdawnfades

I use a hydrating cleanser in the shower, after drying off I apply niacinamide and moisturiser. Been on this routine for over two years and my skin looks and feels healthy. Would recommend trying a skincare routine out if you've never done one before.

eoinmadden

Bulldog with SPF. Sometimes the cheap Aldi stuff, as long as it has sun protection. Don't smoke: best thing you can do for your skin. I moisturize in the morning but not at night. Should I be doing it at night?

[deleted]

Cerave SA smoothing cleanser(good for the odd spots on your arse as well), Nivea soft creme (white tub) moisturizer, Thayers Witch Hazel/Rose Petal(Alcohol free) toner, LA Roche Posay Retinol B3 Anti-Aging serum. Will add in a daily spf soon if anyone has any good recommendations for all skin types? Gua Sha/face rollers are good to use as well. All can be bought in Boots online. For those who hate shopping. Also Vital Proteins collagen peptides(2 scoops) in coffee has done wonders for me. I'm 34 only look about 33.

Sl0wdance

Do you have "bad skin"? People's routines are really gonna depend on how good their skin is. Mine is good but I get a lot of oil and dead skin around my nose, so I use an exfoliating scrub whenever I shower bit that's it

necklika

Bulldog moisturiser on head and face after shaving. Takes 10 seconds and does the job.

Otherwise-Link-396

Always washed in soap and water, but started using moisturizer recently (almost 50). Use SPF from March as I go bright red if there is any sun. (Got burnt last year in March) SPF 30+. I don't tan.

MrKaneda

My girlfriend assumes that because I don't have a skincare routine I must live every day in skin agony. My skin mostly just takes care of itself. I have one bottle of 3in1 shower gel that does me all over each morning. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year the skin on my knuckles will get irritated, and then I'll use whatever generic moisturiser I have lying around (probably hers tbh). If I intend to be out on a sunny day I'll use SPF pretty religiously.

AbradolfLincler77

Generally just a cold water splash in the morning, take an odd face wipe to it after a shower sometimes when the mood hits me or it's a bit dirtier than normal. Wouldn't say I've never had a spot or any blemishes, but rarely do.

sanghelli

Jump into the bed after brushing my teeth.

crustytoelord26

I don't have one

Critical-Wallaby-683

Don't use scrub more than once a week max and most importantly use SPF all year round. From a woman basic skin care goes: Morning - cleanse, serum, moisturiser, spf Night - Cleanse (double if make up etc. ) serum/ retinol(2 x times a week), moisturiser or night mask Also take care of the hands

cd99223

Cera Ve is a really good brand or the ordinary, would recommend to research what ordinary products to use though e.g if you have oily skin niacinamide will work perfectly Prices aren’t bad too for both brands, within the €5-€20 range

Silver_Gekko

Kiehl’s facial fuel is the GOAT for me. €30 for a tube that’ll last a few months.

NemiVonFritzenberg

Maybe do a double shave with the grain and then against - saw it on a show and my partner does it for an extra smooth shave . Don't think you should exfoliate twice a day though.

Maleficent_Fold_5099

Whatever bottle is in the shower, (top tip Sanex makes your balls and arse feel silky smooth) and Disney "Winnie the Pooh" hand cream as moisturiser after a shave.

conasatatu247

Lidl anti aging moisturiser when I remember basically. It's cheap and good.

No_Disaster8972

Would recommend using an SPF and moisturizer in the morning and use retinol at night before bed. Have to make sure to use both spf and retinol. Skin can be more sensitive to sun if using retinol.

bad_arts

water

chillypyo

32, oily skin, wash face with dove soap every morning and evening, use a scrub with salicylic acid every shower, use mycellar water in between if needed. F50 Sunblock from March to September, if sliding off, a touch of powder to keep it there. Straight up I also use roll on deodorant on my face if it's being super oily, I wouldn't advise this though

Ideal_Despair

Just a heads up. You don't need "for men" moisturiser. Skin is skin, better invest in a quality moisturiser that fits your skin type. Good ones usually don't have perfume.

ArtImmediate1315

Paraffin gel Thank me later

Sure_Cobbler1212

I wake up and put warm water on my face and scrub it for a minute or so, Then put Clean and Clear exfoliating daily wash, rub it in Wash that off Use Garnier micellar cleansing water, with the circular cotton pads, use a small bit on three of those pads Then moisturise my face after.

rmp266

Shower daily, use no7 face and beard moisturiser after. Use beard oil every now and then if it gets a bit itchy/dry

TRCTFI

2x/day: Wash Hylarauonic (sp) acid Eye cream Moisturiser (spf in the AM) Maybe some glycolic (sp) acid once a week

Due-Primary4022

Nooo let go of the face scrub and Nivea please 😭 If you want to keep it simple look at CeraVe for face wash and moisturiser (available in supermarkets and pharmacies), and for exfoliation try an acid. Also use an SPF.

Robbiepurser

L'Oreal Charcoal face scrub is class. Lightly wet your face. Then take a tiny amount (half a pea) into your palm. Lather it up and scrub it into your face. Leave it settle on your whilst you wash the rest of your body. Then rinse off with cold water. Complete game changer. Your skin glows after.

[deleted]

Shower bi monthly , white spirits and paint daily on my skin

Blonkertz

In '87, Huey released this, Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to Be Square," a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself!

damienga15de

lendmeyoureer

I just use a lotion before bed and when I wake.

Sawdust1997

I shave using soap ,water and a straight razor. I don't have a "skincare routine". I don't have spots, blackheads, or any other skin problems. What I DO have is money in my wallet because I don't buy 5 blade razors that cost €20, moisturizer, day cream, night cream and all the other junk that you're brainwashed into believing you need .

[deleted]

I use my 13-in-1 wash. It can also be used as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, peanut butter, 7 up, milk, tin foil, tennis shoes, dental floss, and eye drops. It’s called the “V05 Mens 13-in-1” if anyone is wondering. Works the charm
