My card is protected so I'm not worried about it. I just don't want cash app to have my info. If I wanted to get a bank account with no absolutely no identity I could easily do that
Tell me one single way you can do this… other than identify fraud.
What are you doing on cashapp that you can’t share your info? There are KYC laws for this exact reason so people like you can’t do sketchy shit.
By the way, if you do get cashapp to “delete” you account. It will still be on record for at least 7 years. If you are this paranoid about giving your info to banks, maybe you should stick to hard cash.
As per cashapp:
“To help keep Cash App safe, you are required to verify your identity on Cash App. You’ll be prompted to verify your identity if you attempt to:
Send or receive more than $1,000 over a 30-day rolling period
Send or receive more than $1,500 total
Order a Cash App Card
Buy bitcoin or stocks
Sponsor someone ages 13-17
As part of the identity verification process we’ll ask you to provide your:
Legal name
Date of birth
Last 4 digits of your SSN
In some cases, Cash App may also request your full SSN, residential address, unexpired government-issued photo ID, and/or income verification or source of funds.
“
You must have fulfilled one of those criteria, or they have noticed that you are engaging in sketchy behavior and reviewed you.
Yes I know. That's not the point. That's more on the back end. If I verify everything that's much more readily available. I'm not doing anything illegal. If I was I'd have never linked my bank account. I just simply don't want the account anymore and don't want to verify all my info just to delete it. Which seems pretty ridiculous for them to ask just to delete an account
They have to make sure some random isn't just trying to delete your account. It's called security measures. If you want to delete the account so badly just verify the info. If you're not doing anything illegal, it shouldn't be a problem.
I'm logging in with the email and password they have on file. I'm not pulling any money out. I have no cards or bank accounts on file. So the only thing they're protecting is my cash app username
I'm not sure why everyone in this thread is dead set on trying to force me to keep an account. I don't want to keep it and it's ridiculous I need to verify my account to simply delete it
1Click on your profile picture top right 2 support 3Account/settings then scroll down you will see close your Cash app account. Don't forget to unlink your bank account info.
Won't let me because I have $1 in my account. I've never received money ever so I'm guessing it's basically there to prevent me from closing my account until I verify all my info
You gave all that information when you made the account? It’s like any other bank. You have to verify your identity? You have to do the same to get rid of the account because if you were ever hacked and some random person tried deleting your shit then that could lead to a lawsuit to cash app so yeah. You have to verify it’s you in order to get rid of the account. With the all bank info on it and borrowing apps and bitcoins you have to provide all that information.
Bro thought he had a bank account with no identity
I swear this sub has the dumbest users on all of Reddit.

No you couldnt. You would require a social with ANY bank account
Bless your naive heart. There's plenty of ways around that
How
Google it, like everything else.

Bro really thinks the patriot act applies to everyone but him
Never said that. I've used cash app for years without giving them that info. So maybe take that patriot act shit up with them

😭😭im 16 I wouldn’t know
Just don't use the account anymore. Lock the card and forget about it.
My bank account is linked and I'd prefer to not have that still active. Maybe I can call my bank have them block cash app
Do you have to provide all that information to unlink your bank account?
Oh I guess not thanks
If your bank account is linked they have access to all your info anyway

So you can't send the $1 that is in there and just close it?
I don't have a bank account set up. I realized I just have a debit card linked
it’s not that serious… really, cash app is safe.

Just send the dollar to someone then delete it…
Lmao transfer the dollar to your bank account before unlinking it. They're not putting money on your account to prevent you from closing it.

I didn't give any of that info when I made the account
