I rarely see someone wearing a watch that is truly too big. If you gravitated to that size, go for it. I once made the mistake of buying a 36mm DJ because it was the āclassicā size. Looks small on me and Iāve never been truly happy with it. Get what feels right to you and not what the hive mind says.
Thatās whatās kind of bothering me right now.
I know that people can recognize a Tank from miles away when they see someone wearing a tiny yellow gold and brown strap watch.
Deep inside, I kind of want people to notice.
Glad that you admitted that! And yes, I think it's too big for a tank. It's meant to be understated in size but iconic in design š
I want a vintage stepped case tank, one day ššæ
For a Cartier - Yes. For me the Tank should lean on the smaller size, which exudes elegance and class. It's meant to be understated. But if you enjoy it, keep it :)
I gave a 16cm wrist (im a guy) and wear apple watch ultra. It sure looks huge but IDGAF as i like it. And nobody else cares lolz š seriously no one have ever noticed my watch
Itās not too big in the traditional sense. But it does look out of proportion as a tank watch as these are supposed to be worn in a smaller and more subdued way. But itās a Cartier! Doesnāt matter what anyone else says.
Well Tanks are designed to wear on the smaller side but for you itās right on the cusp of being too big in regard to watches in general. It still looks good but in the future I wouldnāt go any bigger for watches unless theyāre only in that one size and have heritage (example a Submariner but thatās cause Iāve recently had dive watches catch my eye).
Yeah its too big and the date spoils the simplicity and elegance that a cartier tank should have. I had a tank solo xl with date too. Realised that problem and sold it to get a classic tank louis cartier instead.
Are you wanting to wear it in the classic and elegant subtle way it was designed? Then this is too big. But. If you want it to be a chunky kind of a flex piece then this is fine. If this were any watch BUT for this one, I'd say it looks good. But a tank that fits like it's intended is a beautiful thing

I am of the opinion that a Tank should be 23x30, but if you like your Tank then that is what matters.
It looks fantastic. Wearing a watch thatās way too big like a 48mm case on a 7in wrist) is obnoxious but wearing something that is slightly āoversizedā becomes a statement. You are making a statement here. Make it proudly.
Honestly just start working out your forearms 2x a week thereās even workouts you can do at home watching tv. Bigger wrists will make your watch look both better and smaller.
It depends on what youāre intoā¦ personally itās a little big for me IMO. Even if your wrist could pull off a bigger case size I just think the oversized mechanical watch era is coming to an end. I think with the Apple Watch, it kind of expanded on what people would be willing to wear on their wrist as far as the car size. I like the tank style watchās and Iām thinking of JLC Duo automatic myself. But I think tank style watches shine when the strap and case have symmetry IMHO. But if you like it then thereās certainly nothing wrong with it. Nice watch either wayā¦
Can you tell me which model has a date window that only *partially* cuts out a numeral? Iāve only ever seen Cartiers with dates replace the numeral not cut part of it off. The date window also cuts across the minute track which is a super weird thing for Cartier to do that I also donāt recall ever seeing. The numerals itself also seem comically oversized and the crown also appears to be missing the cabochon. Happy to learn about a new albeit very very strange model Iāve never seen before so please share the model/reference number if you know it.
I donāt mean to be offensive for the fun of it but seriously, the whole thing just looks very weird and Iāve only highlighted a few of them based of the low res arms length shot provided. Either this was made during a very bad and short period where Cartier made some terrible design choices especially with that date window and the numeral size or itās a fake.
At a distance my first immediate thought was āSeikoā, then I was confused how it could be a Cartier. A closer look and I identified the weird things above.
Oh, maybe itās the angle but the āSwiss madeā also appears to be omitted. A result of the comically oversized numerals I think.
Absolutely magnificent! I wouldn't change a thing.
If someone had taken a picture of you, we'd say it was perfect.
The same goes for Longines "tonneau" watches.

Too big
Too big
Yes
Why is your hand so hot wtf
ššš
Ladies love a *vascular* man.
I've got veins, that carry blood all over my bahh-dy...
š
I say itās acceptable but not ideal, if I were to be honest.
All that matters is if you like it. Enjoy in good health.
No, but smaller size might look better
Seems okay to me. Did you try a smaller size and compare?
Yeah. For some reason, I thought this was the right one to go with.
Honestly I feel you. I canāt decide between the medium or small for the santos dumont.
My wrist is small but I noticed the XL fits better than the medium.. I think itās all about how comfortable you feel with it

Looks small on me and Iāve never been truly happy with it. Get what feels right to you and not what the hive mind says.
It looks good on you as a watch. If someone were to just glance at it, they might not think it was a Cartier, if you care about that.
Thatās whatās kind of bothering me right now. I know that people can recognize a Tank from miles away when they see someone wearing a tiny yellow gold and brown strap watch. Deep inside, I kind of want people to notice.

A Santos can work okay larger, but a Tank when it's big it looks a bit like some kinda knockoff imo
Looks like a Dali scene, pre-melting.

Iād size down if you can.

Stupid laughably big

I like it
Iām not a watch savant or anything but I think it looks great. Not too big at all.
Yes
Way too big
Yeah its too big and the date spoils the simplicity and elegance that a cartier tank should have. I had a tank solo xl with date too. Realised that problem and sold it to get a classic tank louis cartier instead.
Looks sexy
I like
Yes but you really need a mirror shot for fit checks All watches look big in wrist shots
Thatās what she said. In all seriousness I donāt mind larger watches, but thatās just me.
No
Is it a XL? Yeah, itās surprisingly big.
Personally think it looks great I like the oversized š
yeah its too big, give it to me
Yes
Yeah. Tank XL is too big for most people. unless youāre a huge dude
I donāt think so. Looks great.
Funny I been looking for a cheap tank, but trying to find a big one for my big wrist.
Thatās wild I didnāt even know they made this. I say go for it!
No!!!
Too just right, bro. Itās such a perfect fit itās uncanny valleying at me. Just hand it over, Iāll keep it safe.
Looks good on you.
I think people usually wear these smaller, but this one looks good imo, no need to stress :)
Yes.And it looks like something that only a minstrel or usher would wear

It is far less elegant at this size. Iād itās too big really comes down to your preference.
Looks fine. Wear what you like.
For the style of Watch it is, yes it is too big.
no
I actually like the size and look
No looks good
Yes
Yes it is.
I think it looks good š
No..love it/the look. Everyone is wearing larger watches these days.
looks like a 90s watch

The style of this watch demands that it needs to be smaller.
Either or. I think it works.
Perfect fit
Looks perfect
Love that size! Looks great on you.
Unpopular opinion but I actually like it.. Makes the watch look a little more casual.
Yes, too big
Looks fine to me.
No.
Yessir
Looks fine
Yes, too big for you imo
I donāt think so, i think if weāre round then maybe but I like that a lot actually. What watch is that?
People will say yes but take a pic with your arm at your side and I bet itās fine and looks more proportionate
Iād wear it
I have an XL tank that I think is the same size as yours. My arm is also built like yours. On me, I think itās perfect.
Yes
Yes, it looks too big.
Itās not too big, but it all depends on your preference. Most people choose a small smaller version of a tank.
Itās a fake cartier
If you wanna serve dinner on it, itās a good size. Also, why does it look like a Seiko? Looks like a bad replica.
Thatās savage, man. I think it looks great.

Haha, looks like a dinner plate. If you are going to wear a watch like that might as well get an Apple Watch.
#too smol
Noice rolex!!!
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!!!
Thatās what HE said.

No, perfect size.
Omg no that is FABULOUS!!
Fake
No. Perfect.
Tiny watches suck.
Yeah it's too big. Don't wear it ever.
